Table of Contents

So, you’re planning a trip to Columbus, Ohio and you’re thinking, “I want a hotel with a balcony”. Let’s talk about that.

Columbus is a cool city. There’s a lot going on, from the Short North arts district to the bustling downtown scene. And what better way to experience it all than from the comfort of your own private balcony?

Imagine this: You wake up in the morning, slide open the balcony door, and take in the fresh air. Maybe you’re in a luxury hotel with a view of the city skyline. Or perhaps you’re in a budget-friendly spot with a peek at the treetops. Either way, it’s a pretty sweet way to start your day.

Where to stay in Columbus for a balcony view

Columbus has a few different neighborhoods that offer something unique. Let’s break it down.

  • Downtown Columbus: If you want to be in the heart of the action, then a downtown hotel with a balcony is the way to go. You’ll be close to all the best restaurants, bars, and shops. Plus, you’ll get amazing views of the city skyline.
  • Short North: This trendy neighborhood is known for its art galleries, boutiques, and nightlife. If you’re looking for a more hip and eclectic vibe, a hotel with a balcony in the Short North could be perfect.
  • Polaris: If you’re traveling for business or want a more suburban feel, Polaris is a good option. There are plenty of hotels with balconies in this area, and you’ll be close to shopping and dining.
  • Grove City: For a quieter and more affordable option, consider a hotel with a balcony in Grove City. It’s a suburb with easy access to downtown Columbus.

What to look for in a hotel with a balcony in Columbus

So you’ve decided you want a hotel with a balcony in Columbus. Cool. But what should you be looking for?

  • Size of the balcony: Not all balconies are created equal. Some are tiny, while others are big enough to host a party.
  • Furniture: Some hotels will provide furniture for your balcony, like chairs and a small table.
  • View: If you’re all about the views, make sure to ask about what you can see from your balcony.
  • Privacy: Some balconies are more private than others. If you’re looking for some peace and quiet, this might be important to you.

DO NOT STAY HERE. This place is sooo suspicious. I used their valet and the valet agent didn’t ask for my keys when they gave me a pickup ticket so I completely forgot and they had my car towed. When I asked why they didn’t ask the hotel for my contact info they claimed they didn’t know who I was. Soooo suspicious. Then when I spoke to management of both the hotel and valet they said they’d contact me once they knew more but never did. The hotel manager also completely shirked any responsibility since the valet is a managed by a different company despite being in the same building. If that’s not enough for you, the hotel itself is also awful: teeny, tiny rooms, no microwave, no mini fridge, no counter space for anything, the elevators suck, and you don’t even get a comforter! It’s the tiniest quilt that provides no warmth. You get a free drink, that is the worst drink I’ve ever had. I hate this hotel. I’m never staying at a moxy again.

Rooms are unbelievably tiny w no amenities. No closet, coffee maker, fridge etc. Website tells you a queen bed however its a full size mattress. Entire room shakes until 230am from a rooftop club bass that there is NO mention of. We currently have ear buds in and a sounds machine blasting in our face and you can still hear/feel the bass. Our young daughters have a cheer competition in the morning and will be attending as EXHAUSTED. Absolutely ridiculous and every single guess should be notified of this PRIOR to booking. VERY unhappy as a Marriot member.

If you don’t know what the Moxy brand provides please look that up before deciding to stay here - this is not a standard hotel.Apart from the positives/negatives of the brand itself, I love this hotel. The great location is my primary driver, but the friendly, kind, and competent staff are why I choose this over the competition in the area (Ryder & Penny, you are angels).

The club ruins this otherwise nice hotel. My three-year old daughter and I stayed from a Thursday evening until Sunday morning in January. I'm writing this review at 1:30 am on Sunday after being woken from a sound sleep, AGAIN, by thumping bass from the club on the top floor. We were originally put on the eighth floor, but after a horrible night of sleep from unending bass on Thursday evening, asked to be moved to another floor on Friday morning. The manager on staff moved us to the seventh floor, which is three floors away from the club.Around midnight on Saturday, the bass was again so loud that my daughter and I were wide awake. I spent most of my night trying to console a toddler because the club upstairs is horribly loud. Here we are again, for the third night in a row. This trip was soured so badly because my daughter and I were horribly sleep deprived the entire time we were in Columbus. The Moxy is a cute, boutique hotel, but I will avoid it at any cost so I can actually sleep in the hotel room I paid for.Maybe things are better on the lowest floor, but if you're on the seventh floor or above, you will be shaken awake by bass from the club starting at midnight until 3:00 am. Not even two sound machines can overcome the monotonous, thudding bass.Goodbye, Moxy. I won't be seeing you.

Stayed here for a wedding and thought it had a very cute vibe and loved the rooftop bar. When we first arrived we had a little mishap with our room which I know happens so we were not upset and when I brought it to attention to the gentleman working at the check-in bar, Theo, he was so kind and understanding. He was very helpful and actually just switched us to the room next door which ended up being a better situation for us. His manager also overheard and I didn't catch her name but she also apologized for the mishap and made sure we were all sorted out. When we first arrived I would have been hesitant to recommend anyone to stay here but the staff completely changed my opinion with how kind and helpful they were.

The rooms are fantastic. They are warm and inviting with cozy decor. They are not sound proof, but the sound limiting is much better than most hotels. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The service is super friendly and accommodating (provided you are a reasonable and respectful human being).

The Flash Valet company that runs the hotel’s valet service is incredibly unprofessional. My passenger seat was reclined as if someone was sitting or sleeping in my car overnight. And when I requested my car for an early flight, the attendant was playing pool in the hotel lobby without their phone to see my request.Besides the valet, the hotel is in a great location and the front desk staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Be wary of rooms with a shared door between them - you will hear EVERYTHING in the next room. But the staff was great and moved me for my last night stay to a quiet room.

Overall, a great experience! The rooms are small, but nice and clean! Staff was super-friendly and welcoming! The free drink tokens are a nice treat, but only redeemable for select drinks. However, the bar manager was nice enough to allow me to use one for my modest Jim Beam and Coke. It's a little pricey for what it is... but still cheaper than an OVI.

This park is great! There's even a fenced in toddler playground next to the main one. Very pretty nature trail and a great place for pictures.

Located on the east side of Alum Creek, Jeffrey Park is an amazing park in Bexley. Jeffrey Mansion is beautiful but Jeffrey Park is also impressive. The trails are very well maintained and there are plenty of good views of Alum Creek.

Jeffrey Park is a great place to go for a walk and enjoy the nature. My husband and I go here frequently for our Pokémon Go walks since there are plenty of gyms and Poké stops along the paths! However, just beware, this park does not allow dogs on the premises. 🚫 There is a nice playground area for children and plenty of space in the open grass area so people can be distanced safely from each other.🌄 Overall, the park well kept and clean.

Nice park with a play area for kids. There is a giant field in the park that would be ideal for games of kickball and ultimate frisbee. The trail is quite and great for small nature stroll. Not much wildlife but the park is well kept and clean.
