The Lodge and Club at Ponte Vedra Beach
- Outdoor swimming pool
- Spa and wellness centre
- Fitness centre

- Ponte Vedra Beach
- 9.4
Coming in a close second is The Lodge and Club at Ponte Vedra Beach, a luxurious oceanfront retreat that positions itself as an upscale option for travelers seeking both comfort and views.
While not every room features a balcony, the hotel’s website clearly states that “many of the 66 designer rooms and suites…offer private balconies or patios with ocean views.” This transparency makes it easy for guests to know what they’re getting, especially when booking specific room types like the Ocean Suite, Presidential Suite, or various oceanfront rooms that explicitly include this feature.
The hotel’s presence on major booking platforms reinforces its balcony credentials. Expedia clearly lists “Balconies or patios” as an amenity, while Hotels.com highlights “Balcony or patio” as a feature for select accommodations. With a stellar 9.4 rating on both platforms, guests are clearly satisfied with what they’re getting.
Customer reviews frequently mention the joy of watching sunrises from private balconies, with one Family Vacation Critic reviewer specifically noting their enjoyment of this simple pleasure. The combination of luxury accommodations and private outdoor space makes The Lodge and Club a strong contender for travelers who prioritize both comfort and views.
The mahi sandwich was terrible. They put this disgusting “coleslaw” full of big pineapple chunks and it made the bun soggy and just fall apart.
My nephews ordered pie and ice cream for dessert and the ice cream in the little single serving cup was completely melted. Asked our server for another one and she never came back.
Weird place to have such terrible food wait times and service and very very mediocre food.
Tonight I had an issue with my reservation at the lodge and club. Tyler was professional, kind and empathetic and resolved everything quickly. This resort is so impressive and I can't wait to go back!
If you want to read more:
Good food but not worth how much money they charge. They add on 20% tip to all food (etc) but never will let you know. The membership fee is absurd. They overprice everything because they know people will buy it anyway. A lot of places do that but they’re seriously money hungry here. I still go but for the beach only. Gym staff is dismissive and you won’t feel like you’re welcome there almost like they’re trying to shoo you away, food staff is okay for the most part, every receptionist is simply mean. They do not hold up to the promises they make here. It all starts with the management though.
Update 1/29/25
Gym staff continues to be rude and I feel very uncomfortable around them. Receptionist girls are notoriously mean even giving you bad looks when you come in. Ask anyone and they’ll say that too. From the over 20 people I’ve mentioned it to they have all agreed. Luckily they are renovating the place because they structural integrity of the place was terrible and that’s why they are just now upgrading it (at least it seems that way) but no one knew because they are great at covering up/hiding all their mistakes. Have to keep that money coming in somehow. The beach itself continues to be great but the staff continues to be miserable people. The people who open the door for you and greet you are always nice and very welcoming though so I greatly appreciate them and give them all 5 stars. The rest at this point gets 1 star. The gym staff that used to be nice has now gotten mean so that’s why I’m updating it. Showers are gross due to the grout being so dirty it’s gone black. I wouldn’t have noticed that the color of it wasn’t supposed to be like that until I saw the few spots that have been cleaned and are white. Either clean the whole thing or don’t because it’s obvious when little spots here and there are clean and the majority of it is nasty. Not all the staff is mean but it’s so annoying how most of them are. If they advertise they are a welcoming nice place then they should live up to that.
Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront: Limited Balcony Options
- Outdoor swimming pool
- Parking available
- Fitness centre
- 170
- 2 Person
- E Coastline Dr, Jacksonville
- 8.8
Rounding out our list is the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, which appears to offer the fewest balcony options for standard guest rooms among our featured hotels.
The hotel’s official website focuses on room size, bed types, and views of the city or St. Johns River, but standard room descriptions notably lack mentions of balconies. While the “Meetings & Events” section does reference “River Terrace Rooms” with “private balconies for mingling,” these appear to be event spaces rather than regular guest accommodations.
This pattern continues across booking platforms, where balconies aren’t consistently mentioned for standard guest rooms. Customer reviews primarily discuss the hotel’s location, service quality, and river views without significant mentions of balconies.
The Hyatt Regency’s marketing strategy centers on its riverfront location and suitability for business travelers and events, with less emphasis on balconies for leisure stays. While it may appear in some general lists of hotels with balconies in Downtown Jacksonville, this might be due to the balconies associated with meeting rooms rather than guest accommodations.
For travelers specifically seeking a room with a balcony, the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront would be the least reliable choice among our featured hotels.
We came to visit Jacksonville for the first time and this hotel was in a great location. Check-in was easy, service was friendly, good amenities. Everything was great.
Ended up paying $30 to park for the night. Reasonable enough. However, we left early (5:50AM) and could not leave the garage. There was an attendant on duty and, instead of taking care of us or even speaking with us, he rudely made the "phone" gesture with his hand.
Apparently, you can't get out of the parking lot without calling a number just to go to an automated message.
We spent fifteen minutes trying to exit the garage when the attendant could have just spoken to us like we were guests and not an inconvenience.
On the positive side, our room was clean, had a great view, and was properly serviced throughout our stay. The hotel also added a special touch by placing flowers on our bed on our wedding night, which we appreciated.
However, several of our guests encountered issues with their rooms and did not receive the level of service expected at this price point. One party had their room skipped for servicing, and overall, the responsiveness to concerns was lacking. Additionally, the pillows were uncomfortable, which affected sleep quality. The most frustrating part was that we were promised free parking as the bride and groom, yet the hotel attempted to charge us and claimed they couldn’t find our wedding block.
While this hotel may work for individual stays, I would not recommend it for a wedding block in its current state. The service inconsistencies and lack of follow-through on commitments made it a frustrating experience for us and our guests. Hopefully, the management can address these issues to improve future stays.
Interesting area, not much within walking distance.
But the river is beautiful to look at and walk around there for exercise.
The staff is nice and accommodating. I feel bad that they only have 1 guest service agent working during check in time at 4pm. Every day she had a huge line that wrapped around the lobby. She worked as fast as she could but still I feel bad for her.
The amenities in the hotel were amazing. We used them all except the pool, it is off season. Lawrence the bartender at the Tavern was great. Happy Hour was a huge bonus. Dinner in the Tavern was great too, see pictures.
Breakfast buffet at the Shore was nice too.
The market is huge and has a ton to offer.
We found the rooms to be very accommodating. Housekeeping is doing a good job! They were cleaned beautifully.
Would book here again without a doubt.
Margaritaville Jacksonville Beach
- Outdoor swimming pool
- Spa and wellness centre
- Fitness centre
- 274
- 2 Person
- St N, Jacksonville Beach
- 9.0
When it comes to hotels with balconies in Jacksonville, Margaritaville Jacksonville Beach takes the crown. This island-inspired getaway doesn’t just offer balconies as an upgrade or special feature—they’re standard across all rooms and suites.
The hotel’s website makes no secret of this selling point, explicitly inviting guests to “unwind on your private balcony” and enjoy “water views from your balcony.” This commitment to outdoor space perfectly complements the laid-back, coastal vibe that defines the Margaritaville brand.
Guests consistently rave about these spaces in their reviews. One Booking.com reviewer gushed, “Our room was amazing balcony looking at the ocean from our bed was so cool,” while another appreciated having “a room with a balcony facing the beach.” The dedicated “Rooms & Suites” page on their website confirms that all accommodations feature balconies with water views, making this hotel the safest bet for balcony enthusiasts.
If you’re looking to maximize your outdoor experience while staying in Jacksonville, Margaritaville should be your first choice. Just don’t forget to check out nearby attractions in Myrtle Beach if you’re planning a multi-destination coastal trip.
I've never had such a bad experience at a hotel in my life. With very confusing pricing policies after we arrived. To coffee spilled and dried at the coffee station. Refrigerator is warm with ice covering the back. Our room was supposed to be an ocean view. Well we are on the front corner of the hotel and can see a slight piece of the ocean. I guess they consider that a view. The bathroom mirror is awful. My taxes included $203.00 room turned into a $270.00 room with an extra $100.00 fee. That was price when I checked in. I'm scared of what 11 am tomorrow is going to bring. I'm just furious. Like I said, horrible experience and not a great way to start a vacation. And now that I'm answering questions below, I always thought of this place as an upscale luxury hotel. Well, I tell you there is much better out there with better rate, cleanliness and pricing practices.
I must also say that although we didn't need to use valet parking during our stay, the staff are very friendly, which is a good point because they're the ones who welcome everyone.
On the other hand, I have two important points if you're considering staying at Margaritaville Jacksonville:
Parking is a bit difficult given the circumstances of limited parking available. The only available parking offered by the hotel is through valet parking, which has a cost but isn't expensive. However, if you're staying for several days, it's a point to consider. The free parking spaces are scarce, and you literally have to stand guard to get one, so we decided not to move the car and walk or rent bikes so we wouldn't lose a good free space we could get. Alternate parking requires a fee or, for sure, is a secure ticket (anf I saw many cars with tickets).
There's not much to say about the service at the check-in desk... they're not rude, but they're not friendly either... to the point and bye. Although I must say that only one of them was a little more friendly (but sadly, I don't remember the name), It would be great to say that everyone is friendly and goes above and beyond what good customer service means, but I must say that for the short time I spent with them, it was something that, to be honest, didn't matter to me, but it is a good point to keep in mind for your stay there.
Restaurant service was good and good food, but I should say drinks were not good (mine taste more like water) and expensive...
Room was large and spacious. Temperature controls available. Hair dryer and Bath robe available. Hallways were quiet. Mini fridge and coffee maker. Only coffee available no tea.
Parking was pricey. Really no street parking - even though they mention it. So be prepared to pay daily valet prices. Walking distance to other restaurants and beach stores. Right near the pier. Volley ball down at the beach.
The restaurant down a block north Refinery is excellent dining.
You can relax and enjoy a cup of coffee at the lobby or have a beer at the restaurant. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing stay.
Restaurants I tried during my stay (and all were great, honestly) included Landshark Bar and Grill, Joe Merchant’s Coffee and Provisions, V Pizza, Sago Coffee, Lukumades, and Grom.
I had some issues with my room that required maintenance. The maintenance man was a real gem! He did what he could to not disrupt my time in the room and managed to fix one of the two immediate issues I had with the room. (One was not fixable while I was staying in the room.)
A couple of things to note:
1) The "Ocean View" rooms have Juliet Balconies which means they aren't big enough to sit in them. Additionally, the view is inhibited on either side by the U-shape of the building. (see photo) If you want a full ocean view, get an "Ocean Front" room.
2) If you like strong water pressure when you shower, you will be very disappointed. No doubt, this is due to the water restrictors in the shower head and is an effort to minimize water usage.
3) The beds are EXTRA firm. I don't mind a firm mattress, but the bed was far too firm for me to have a good night's rest and caused hip and lower back stiffness.
4) If you need a microwave in your room, they will be happy to supply one...for a fee of $20/day.
I'm in the area once a month for meetings, but I'll most likely choose another place on the beach.
Restaurants are within walking distance.
Valet parking is ridiculous, but it is what it is. All in all I would recommend this hotel.
Four Points by Sheraton Jacksonville Beachfront
- Outdoor swimming pool
- Free Parking
- Fitness centre
- 250
- 2 Person
- Street North, Jacksonville Beach
- 9.0
Four Points by Sheraton Jacksonville Beachfront takes a slightly different approach to balconies, making them a standard feature of their suites while implying availability for some standard rooms as well.
The hotel’s official website explicitly mentions “private oceanfront balcony” in room descriptions, particularly highlighting the “stunning views of the sparkling coastline.” Visit Jacksonville’s description notes that the hotel offers “80 spacious two-room suites, each with a private balcony offering breathtaking views of the white sandy beaches.”
This focus on suite balconies is consistent across booking platforms, with Trivago, Booking.com, Expedia, and Hotels.com all mentioning “Oceanfront Suites with Balconies” and “Private Balcony overlooking the ocean” in their listings.
Guest reviews confirm the appeal of these spaces, with comments on Marriott’s website including praise like “great view with a big balcony” and appreciation for “the balcony overlooking the beach.” If you’re planning to book a suite anyway, Four Points offers a reliable balcony experience with ocean views that won’t disappoint.
Thank you for giving us a problem free/complaint free vacation! 10/10 would recommend. Would stay again. This place also feels very safe. You could walk around late at night or run out to the car with no issues. I truly enjoyed myself.
Despite the fact we were here during some bad weather, we had a great stay in Jacksonville because this hotel was so nice! Highly Recommend this place!
Hampton Inn Jacksonville Hotels With Balcony
- Outdoor swimming pool
- Pet Friendly
- Fitness centre

- 3 Person
- St N, Jacksonville Beach, FL
- 9.2
Hampton Inn Jacksonville Beach/Oceanfront takes fourth place in our ranking, offering balconies primarily for select ocean-view rooms rather than as a standard feature across all accommodations.
Unlike our top three contenders, Hampton Inn doesn’t prominently feature balconies in its marketing materials. The hotel’s website focuses more on its beachfront location, complimentary breakfast, and standard Hampton Inn amenities, with balconies taking a backseat in the amenity hierarchy.
Information about balcony availability varies across booking platforms. Hotels.com explicitly lists “Room, 1 King Bed, Non Smoking, Balcony (Oceanfront View),” suggesting that while some rooms—primarily those with ocean views—do offer balconies, it’s not a universal feature.
Customer reviews tend to focus on the hotel’s excellent location, easy beach access, and complimentary breakfast rather than balcony experiences. This suggests that while balconies exist, they’re not the standout feature that defines the Hampton Inn experience.
If you’re set on staying at Hampton Inn, be sure to specifically request a room with a balcony when booking, as availability appears limited to certain ocean-view rooms.
The hotel is older so I definitely didn't expect this place to be as nice and updated as it was! The scent coming in to the lobby was lovely and not overbearing- unsure what it was or why they were using it but it was pleasant.
The included breakfast was delicious and the tiki bar on the beach has amazing food and drinks (coconut margarita 😘 and I don't like coconut).
The staff across the board was incredible, so helpful and kind to even our kiddos. They have an easy, great towel policy and offer purchases of inner tubes for the pool which was great for our 6-year old.
The pool with the waterfall was so fun for the kiddos and it was nice having such a large shallow end so we could keep them a little more contained. You can chase the shade all day and never really worry about getting burned up because of the waterfall design. The hot tub did not seem to be working while we there but that didn't impact us at all.
The view from the room was beautiful! We were overlooking the pool and had a wonderful breeze off the ocean.
The room has been beautifully renovated for a beachfront hotel - beds were comfortable and there was NO strange smell as some reviews had mentioned. However, there was no fan or air vent in the bathroom so when the air went off in the room, the humidity got really bad, not allowing for bathing suits to dry overnight.
In addition, the AC temperature wasn't controlled from the unit in the room (maybe it should have been but we didn't report it) so there was no adjusting the temperature or how often the AC kicked on. The AC coming on was loud and made a different noise every time it turned on which woke up the room in the middle of night. Because the humidity got so bad, the room would get warm pretty quickly, also waking up all of us.
The TV in the room offered the ability to connect to all of the streaming apps and stated it would log out automatically at checkout- we did not test this.
The pool has a 10pm "curfew" and it was definitely enforced (to be clear, with the sliding door closed, it's very quiet considering we were on the pool side). The hotel is off of 1st Street in Jacksonville Beach so there was plenty of people watching from the balcony and the nightlife is fun! Walking distance to great bars and restaurants - some places family friendly, I would think most are not in that area but it's been a long time since I've partied at the beaches so I can't say that with 100% certainty.
The hotel was busy with lots of big family groups, some with kids, some without. We met a lovely couple that brings their grandkids every year and said they absolutely love it. We reserved last minute and there were still a handful of rooms available.
All this to say, the issues we had were minor and would not stop us from going back- maybe try a different room next time but all in, this was worth the money we spent in the busy season to give our little family a break from reality for a few days.
ADDITIONAL INFO: 7/20/25: today was our last day at the hotel. Last night we confirmed that we have a 1pm late check out. Upon arriving at our room at 11:45 we found that our keys were shut off. I went down to the main desk and spoke to Casey and I was appalled that he works here with his condescending terrible customer service. It was shared with us that around here people are relaxed and we just need to go with the flow…TOTALLY APPALLED. Changing my rating to 1 star
No complaints!
The pool looked incredible and inviting, but the water was way too cold to swim in. The hot tub looked great, but the water was way too hot, and the chemicals weren't done right, so I got a hot tub rash.
If were in the area again, I would definitely stay here again.
