Hampton Inn & Suites Austin

I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Austin @ The University / Capitol and was thoroughly impressed. The hotel’s prime location, just steps away from the University of Texas and Sixth Street, made it easy to explore the city. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-appointed with comfortable beds and modern amenities. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and provided a great start to each day.

The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. I particularly appreciated the convenience of the on-site amenities, such as the swimming pool and fitness center. Overall, I highly recommend the Hampton Inn & Suites Austin @ The University / Capitol for anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable hotel in the heart of Austin.

Beautiful new construction hotel, in easily accessible area of Austin. Quiet rooms, it feels like you’re the only guest here which has comfy beds and the kitchen is well appointed. There are many outlets for tech located in the room, and through the hotel. Breakfast has many options to choose from including make your own waffle station. The pool is very nice too, and clean! We plan to stay here again!

We booked this hotel while in Austin helping our daughter get settled into her new apartment at UT 🤘🏼. From check in to out, everything was seamless. We even extended our stay by a day, and the staff was accommodating throughout. Everyone we interacted with was incredibly friendly and helpful. My personal favorite part of the stay was the breakfast. It was delicious, with a wide variety of food and drinks, and the dining area was spotless and modern.
The only thing that left me a little confused was housekeeping, our room wasn’t serviced during our two-night stay, even though we didn’t have the “Do Not Disturb” sign up. Not a dealbreaker at all, but worth noting.
Parking was convenient, safe, and reasonably priced compared to other Austin hotels. While the hotel is in a somewhat random neighborhood, the property itself is beautiful, and the staff truly make the experience special.

We’ll definitely be back, it’s our new go-to spot when visiting our girl at UT!

We spent last night there & our stay was fantastic. This hotel is the finest Hampton Inn we’ve stayed at by far. Every member of the staff were friendly, courteous & knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The front desk made a few recommendations for our evening meal. Needless to say the restaurant was awesome. The breakfast served hot & included many options. They even had a chef that would fix our breakfast to order. Our room was clean, comfortable, quiet & located on the first floor near an exit so we could walk our little dog. Our puppy even loved the treats that were at the front desk !! We will stay there from now on whenever we visit the Austin area. Great Job & THANKS for our great stay.

Maya was absolutely amazing at the front desk! Super welcoming, professional, and efficient — she made the check-in process smooth and stress-free. Her warm energy and attention to detail really stood out. You can tell she genuinely cares about making sure everyone feels taken care of. A true asset to the team!

Great stay. Felt so welcome when greeted by Svea at the front desk. Everything is so clean. Breakfast was fabulous. Shout out to Felipe who makes fresh omelettes in the morning. Alexa and Sonya keep the buffet stocked and keep the place spotless. There are restaurants and breweries within walking distance. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend

We stayed at this hotel last week and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience from the moment we arrived. When we first checked in, we were told our room was ready, but when we went upstairs and opened the door, it was clear the room hadn’t been cleaned at all—there were still signs of the previous guests. We were then given a different room, which was located right next to a loud air conditioning unit or utility box. The noise was constant and extremely loud every time the AC turned on and off, making it impossible for all four of us to get any sleep that night.

The next morning, we went to the front desk to ask for help moving to a different hotel. They told us that because we had booked through Hotels.com, we would need to contact them directly. After being on hold with Hotels.com for over an hour, I saw that the customer service representative at the front desk actually received a call from them—but she denied it and claimed they hadn’t been able to reach each other. It felt like they were working together to avoid helping us or issuing a refund.

We ended up switching rooms again, for the third time, and were told this one would be quieter, farther from the AC system—but it was just as loud. Again, no sleep.

When we asked for room service, they didn’t change the bed sheets or pillowcases. I had to take the pillowcases off myself and leave them on the floor just to make sure they would get changed the next day.

The beds were uncomfortable, the pillows were old, and we all woke up with sore necks.

The only positive part of our stay was the breakfast. It was very clean, had great food options, and the staff working the buffet were kind, helpful, and professional. They were the only highlight of our stay.

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel. The noise issues, poor cleanliness, and lack of honest customer service made it a very frustrating experience.

This was a wonderful location!!! The rooms are spacious and CLEAN! The restroom was also nice and clean with great lighting and plenty of space and plugs for your beauty needs. The only thing missing was a full length mirror somewhere in the room. Other than that 9/10 I would recommend!!!

Stayed here for one evening in Austin and loved it!
Some people questioned my location choice as the area used to be very seedy, but it's going through some nice changes, and I felt perfectly comfortable both day and night.
Check in with a smile, my room was very nice and a slight view of their wonderful pool area.
Breakfast was excellent and the whole lobby area was very clean.
I really liked this place and hope to return someday!

The Home 2 Suites East side on 5th street was amazing. The staff was very friendly. The pool was clean and had plenty of towels. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. There is an omelette station and Texas sized waffles. The only negative I have to say is that there is limited street parking and they’re charging $35 to park. Me and my family loved it here.

I just checked in, and unfortunately, my first impression of this Hampton Inn was far from welcoming. The receptionist skipped over every male guest in line and went straight to the last woman in line, who happened to be wearing short shorts. This kind of blatant favoritism felt unprofessional and rude, especially as a first-time guest.

Check-in should be handled in the order guests arrive, with fairness and professionalism. If this is how the service starts, I can only hope the rest of my stay improves. Management should ensure that all guests are treated with equal respect.

This hotel is so clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast is divine! (I live the fresh fruit options!!) The location is so hip. Trendy restaurants and bars are a pleasant walk away!

It is also a train ride away from the convention center.

First time in Austin with friends and it while the weather was abnormally chilly, the company was fantastic and the hotel was a plus and a great stay. Both Hampton Inn for hotel feel like stay and Home 2 suites share this property. We stayed on the Hampton side and it was a clean hotel, 7 months new & quiet. Lawrence at the front desk provided great customer service and so was our housekeeper lady. It is not in downtown, but close enough to walk when the weather is favorable or just a short drive. Free breakfast, however they start breaking down a few minutes before 10am so get there sooner. Everything was great, and would high recommend. FYI, parking is $35 night.

We had a wonderful experience here! The room is cozy and clean. The breakfast is variety and delicious. The best part about the hotel is the customer service from the employees. They are very kind and helpful, especially Svea. Her kindness and enthusiasm for her work is really impressive to us. Thank you for giving us an amazing experience. For sure we will come back soon. Highly recommend staying here.

After visiting for a last minute trip with my Family I'll absolutely return. The staff specifically Liz went above and beyond to accommodate myself and my Family. She helped us find places to visit, amazing places to eat. I feel like every morning and night I saw her there with smile on her face happy to help us. You can tell she loves what she does and that reflected by the way she treated us with open arms. She made the experience absolutely perfect especially with my Son who needs certain accommodations. She listened to my concerns and felt like had a solution very absolutely everything. Great experience will return and have already recommended to my friends this is Home away from Home . Thank you for making our stay so smooth. We are so grateful for all you did for us.

Placemakr was a great stay for us! There are many places to eat/drink in walking distance, there is a Target nearby and scooters make getting around even easier!

The value for the space is incredible, it’s like a home away from home! The kitchen is equipped with the basic equipment, utensils, plates, a new dish soap and sponge (it’s the little details for me). The space is clean, though I will say the toilet required a bit of extra cleaning but I didn’t mind doing that myself as I travel with Clorox wipes anyways. The countertops in the kitchen also needed a quick wipe, I could see previous cup stains and a little bit of stickiness BUT aside from this the space was clean.

The bed was comfortable, the water pressure was good. There’s a washer/dryer combo provided along with a detergent pod (again, it’s the small details for me)! You control your own temp, however when I turned the heat on, the fire alarm started going off. Luckily I travel with an extra blanket so I just left the temp off for my stay. There is a lot of construction nearby but leaving the windows closed, you don’t hear any of it really.

Would stay here again! Thank you.

I had an absolutely phenomenal stay at this hotel! The staff were exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making my experience unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, their professionalism and kindness set the tone for a perfect visit. The location is unbeatable, perfectly situated with easy access to local attractions, dining, and entertainment, making every moment convenient and enjoyable. The hotel itself was immaculate, with every corner sparkling clean and beautifully maintained, reflecting an impressive commitment to hygiene and guest comfort. I can’t recommend this place enough—top-notch service, prime location, and pristine cleanliness made my stay truly outstanding!

Honorable mentions: T (nickname) & Emille, but the whole staff is great.

I was very disappointed with the customer service during my stay. On the morning of October 19th for room 326, I texted the front desk several times to request a late checkout, but my messages were completely ignored. When I went down to the desk in person, I repeated my request and was told it would be taken care of, but no confirmation was ever sent.

After that, I asked for my receipt to be emailed to me. I never received it, and my follow-up messages were also ignored. At that point, it felt like I was being purposely disregarded, which was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. For reference, I was staying in room 326 in case management wants to review the messages sent that morning.

I believe management should address this kind of behavior with proper training or corrective action because it reflects poorly on the hotel and can harm its reputation—especially when other staff and reviews show that good service is possible here.

Additionally, guests should know that the back side of the hotel is located right next to a train station. The noise continues through the night, and the soundproofing is not effective.

On a positive note, the location is very convenient and only about a 5-minute walk from local shops and restaurants.

The hotel itself is excellent. It's very specious and does look like a brand new apartment with a kitchen . Just really beautiful and functional. However, the location is not good because of insane construction site . I'm posting one of the pictures taken from my room onto the street. The other side of the street is a busy highway! Overnight parking is $68! We paid it but not sure if we will be refunded for it as promised by the hotel. The construction starts at 7 am and continues well into the evening. The train runs after midnight too. This hotel is well-insulated but not to the extent you need to rest without all this noise. The air conditioner is located right above the bed and blows cold air direct onto the bed. I guess, when the construction is over, it will be nice (minus the highway).

Placemakr Downtown Austin Review
We had a wonderful stay at Placemakr in downtown Austin! The location was absolutely perfect—close to everything we wanted to do. The space was very clean, modern, and had a welcoming vibe. What really stood out, though, was the staff. They were incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend!

Despite our brief stay, we created countless unforgettable memories. The unit was exceptional—thoughtfully designed, equipped with top-notch amenities, and offering stunning views of downtown Austin. Securing such a fantastic place at a reasonable rate, especially on short notice, was a pleasant surprise. The location was unbeatable, placing us right in the heart of the city. Communication was seamless, and the flexibility provided made our experience even more enjoyable. The contactless check-in and check-out process was smooth and convenient. Overall, I would rate our experience a solid 10 out of 10, with an extra 10 points for the outstanding service and ease of access.

My recent stay at a hotel in downtown Austin was overall a very positive experience. The location couldn't have been more convenient. Being within easy walking distance of numerous shops and restaurants made exploring downtown a breeze.
The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, and the check-in and check-out process was incredibly smooth thanks to the private code entry system. Having onsite parking available, while costing $35 per day, was a definite plus for those driving into the city. I also found the hotel to be reasonably priced for its prime downtown location.
While the room itself was on the smaller side, it was well-equipped with enough amenities for a comfortable stay. The unexpected bonus of having a washer and dryer unit in the room was a fantastic and much-appreciated feature.
The only significant drawback I encountered was the very low water pressure in the shower. This made showering a noticeably longer process than usual.
Despite the issue with the water pressure, I would still highly recommend staying at this hotel for its fantastic location, friendly service, convenient parking, reasonable price, and thoughtful in-room amenities. It's a great option for anyone looking to experience the heart of downtown Austin.

Stayed at the Placemakr downtown Austin for a work event in downtown Austin. The rooms are set up as apartments with full kitchen, laundry, and office space. These are perfect for getting all the comforts of staying at home while on the road and would be perfect for anyone needing a long term stay option without feeling cramped in a regular hotel. My accomodations were booked by my coworker who had me checking out a day before my flight. Thankfully the staff were so friendly and helpful and were able to extend my stay another night. Then when I woke up on my fly out day and my flight was delayed they offered me a temp code to hang out in their amazing clubhouse and covered terrace and were able to hold my luggage in the lobby with baggage claim tickets. Above and beyond service from them so I didn't have to wait in an airport for 4 hours! Great location, walking distance to the convention center, 6th street, and a nearby Target and Whole Foods to get any groceries you might need. Full fridge, microwave, and stove with cookware and utensils so it was easy to save money on food while here for the week. Fast internet as every unit has its own router and each unit has its own A/C so you can get your room to the temperature that fits you. Security was annoyingly good as the elevator and doors have a keypad to access them, makes you feel safe especially in a downtown area. I didn't bring a car on this trip but they do offer secure parking underneath for an additional fee but peace of mind not having your car out for someone to break into it. They also have a pool which I did not use on this trip but great to note if you want a place to hang out and swim as well. Highly recommend this place if you are working from out of town near the downtown Austin area! Thanks ❤️

My stay at the Placemkr in Austin was fantastic! The hotel's modern and stylish design created a really cool and comfortable atmosphere. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Everyone I encountered went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about their guests.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities you could need. The location was also perfect, putting me right in the heart of Austin's vibrant scene.
The only minor downside was the pool. It looked absolutely gorgeous, but unfortunately, the water was a bit too cold for me to really enjoy it. I was hoping to relax poolside, but it was just a bit too chilly for a comfortable swim.
Despite the pool temperature, I would highly recommend the Placemkr. The exceptional staff, stylish accommodations, and prime location made for an unforgettable stay. I'd definitely return!

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Our room was a 2bd/2ba with a washer & dryer, and full kitchen. The hotel and room is maintained very well. We appreciated tile flooring vs. wall to wall carpet in the room. The location was perfect, we walked to most of our dinners. A great place to stay in Austin.

My family and I stayed at The Continental 4nights/5days. The 2 bedroom /2 bath apartment included a small washer and dryer which was nice.I do wish there were complimentary laundry pods or a vending machine to buy such items from though. The kitchen included pots and pans, silverware, plates/bowels, cups. The facility is pretty new still so there was not an ice machine available either. The rooms were a nice size, modern decor , very clean, pillows super soft (too soft for my liking but I also have back problems ).

The location was nice - center of the market and less than half a mile from the River Walk. We didn’t know this until our last night stay (our fault) but additional towels /sheets were in the lobby dresser drawers! The staff was super nice and available via call or text for any questions or concerns.

My only major issue was the hot water would not get hot, it was more of a warm temperature which we just dealt with.

Be mindful , Parking is not free nor complimentary. The garage around the corner charges 8.99 the first night and 12.99 each night after.

Overall , our experience was good. I would recommend and would come back again.

Placemakr in downtown Austin Texas was a comfortable and reasonably price place to stay for three nights. It is centrally located and was close to the convention center. The staff was friendly, available, and quick to meet needs for assistance. From front desk to custodial/cleaning staff we felt welcomed and respected. The clubhouse, front desk area, and the rooms themselves had great decor. Rooms feel more like apartments and the clubhouse had so many amenities. My husband and I agree that next time we revisit Austin that we will make reservations for the Placemakr.

I'm really impressed with this place. It used to be a loft apartment building that they're slowly converting into a hotel. The staff that I interacted with were very friendly, but at the same time, the check in was just sending the access code and room number through a text message, so personal contact really wasn't required. Some tech impaired people might find this approach really frustrating, especially at first.
The rooms are much larger than a standard hotel room, and they come equipped with a standard, full kitchen, not the small fridge and microwave most hotel rooms have.
The less expensive rooms have a balcony with a courtyard view. The more expensive rooms have an exterior view of downtown.
The room was really nice, but the most impressive and luxury feature of the place were the common spaces on the 4th and ground floors. A completely covered and furnished terrace with a small outdoor kitchen on one corner of the building. And down the hallway on the other corner of the building is an indoor clubhouse with a large TV room, a pool table with a corner window view, a large indoor kitchen, a glass wall business meeting room, and it's own completely outdoor, uncovered terrace as well. These public spaces would make a great place for a small to medium get together.
Overall, the place really delivered, especially compared to a standard hotel room.

We went in knowing this is a self-service apartment with little to no interaction with staff necessary. However, any interaction we had with the desk was friendly, courteous and a credit to the property. We're used to travelling this way, and made full use of the apartment facilities which included a kitchen, pull down bed, full bathroom, lots of storage, and a lounge area. We arrived to find the apartment very clean and tidy, with everything we needed to get settled in. There are plenty of stores within walking distance to stock up the kitchen for your stay, and the delivery apps all serve the area with groceries and take out food. There was no safe in the room but the door works by six-digit code and as the room's cleaning is your own responsibility, nobody is going in and out of the room unless you pay for the optional cleaning service. Overall, most guests obeyed the quiet-time rules, though the walls and spaces do allow sound in, so expect a little noise from surrounding apartments or outside in the courtyard. The whole building was immaculately clean, there's a gym, pool, and lifts and stairwells to get around the place. It feels modern, well-maintained and in a good location for downtown, with the more trendy areas only a half hour walk or short cab ride away. It's also only a 20-30 minutes drive from the airport and major retail parks for the super targets and Walmarts. I'd stay here again and will recommend it to my friends and family.

My husband and I went for a week trip just to explore Austin. The location was perfect, check in and out a breeze. The place was very clean and modern, our room was 1107 and was well stocked for our week. It was super nice to have the washer and dryer in unit and we enjoyed the pool on many sunny afternoons. The pool furniture was plush and it was nice to have the cabanas on the really hot days! Great views of the bats from the pool too!

Recently stayed at Austin Condo Hotel (Natiivo) over a 3 day business trip to Austin. This is a really nice hotel, with great amenities like a coffee shop, pool and fitness center. BEWARE! This establishment hides fees and calls them "tax". Pay attention to your bill or this duplicitous practice may cost you...

Note: They charged $158.60 in tax on a room that cost $107.10, for a total of $271.06. This was marked as "tax", not "tax & fees". That is illegal. Even in Texas you are not allowed to charge whatever you want for tax. I asked for an update, and their explanation actually led to discovering more illegal activities (like charging the Austin hotel tax at 4x the actual fee)

They make you send pictures of your ID through an app that doesn't have a security certificate. Wasn't aware it was a requirement and I wanted to just provide when I arrived but they said if I didn't complete ahead of time they'd cancel my reservation. This was two days prior to arrival so I had little choice. Requested privacy policy, twice, no response or acknowledgement of the request. The morning of check in I notified of cancelled flight and that I would have to have next day check in and was still marked as a no show when I got to the front desk (and still had to pay for the first night where I wasn't even there -other hotels have adjusted final rate). The street noise was loud on the city view side it made it difficult to sleep.
Nice room over all though and great to have a kitchen for the price I booked ($210/nt) Good location but plenty of other options on that same block.
So yeah not "bad" but definitely not "best." I booked another hotel for my return business trip at the end of the month

Absolutely stellar experience. Will keep coming back when I come to Austin. From booking, to being able to text questions, to check out this place was fantastic. We lacked for nothing! Super quiet and comfortable. I absolutely cannot recommend them enough.

When we left, we accidentally left a few things behind. They promptly texted and even offered to meet me with my belongings. Who does that?

When I had a question, they were at my door to help in under 2 minutes.

Penthouse experience at a 6th floor price tag - we won’t ever stay anywhere else.

Great experience! Full 1 bedroom condo. Decorated nicely. Awesome views plus a balcony you can sit on. See the river, city and all along 35 which is neat at night. Highway noise might get to very light sleepers but didn't bother me or my wife. The bed is very very plush and comfortable. Bathrooms clean and kitchen is nice. If you do a lot of cooking there may not be a utensil or say a cookie sheet or tons of glasses but we were fine. Oven is nice convection/microwave combo. The building is modern and new. Location within walking distance of stores restaurants and bars. Has a nice coffee bar next to lobby. The clientele is hip and good looking. No riffraff here at all. Valet is 40 a day or you can park 50 yards away for 30 or at a meter for less. Uber into downtown areas are less than $10 per. Overall very pleased and the price point was a great deal for what you get.

Loved my stay at Austin Condo Hotel! The location can’t be beat! Walk right to the trail around the lake just steps away. Many cook restaurants and bars within minutes away. Very modern condo with a fabulous rooftop pool and workout facilities. There’s even a coffee and cocktail bar downstairs in the lobby. We would definitely stay here again!

My family stayed here recently and it was amazing! The views from the balcony were beautiful and the location couldn’t be better. Walking distance to Lady Bird Lake - which made morning walks and runs spectacular! Easy walk to restaurants, bars coffee shops etc. Condo had every amenity you need plus some you didn’t know you needed but enjoyed! Great friendly place n exceptionally clean. Would def stay here again when in town!

Canopy by Hilton Austin Downtown

I recently stayed at the Canopy by Hilton Austin Downtown and had a fantastic experience. The hotel’s prime location near Sixth Street made it easy to explore the city’s vibrant nightlife and cultural attractions. The rooms were modern, clean, and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to assist with any requests.

I particularly enjoyed the hotel’s outdoor pool and rooftop terrace, which provided stunning views of the city. The coffee shop/cafe was a great place to relax and enjoy a delicious beverage. Overall, I highly recommend the Canopy by Hilton Austin Downtown for anyone looking for a stylish and convenient stay in the heart of Austin.

loved my room and the amenities. Great location and a good price for the room I got (king corner suite with balcony). The shower had a shower seat and shelf, simple things that most other hotels do not have... made a huge difference for my stay.

I had an amazing stay at the Hilton Canopy in Austin! The location is unbeatable—right on Sixth Street, which made it so easy to enjoy everything the city has to offer. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and attentive to every need, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Everything about my stay exceeded expectations, and I’ll definitely be staying here again the next time I’m in Austin. Highly recommend!

We stayed while transitioning to Austin from out of state. Canopy was comfortable for our family, and our young kiddos felt right at home. Our room was quiet and spacious, and housekeeping took great care of us. Our kiddos loved the complimentary cookies and even got an occasional free snack from the front desk. We ate at Verbena a handful of times, and really loved the Dos Moles Chicken and Macha Flatbread. We ordered both multiple times. The area is very walkable and although it can be noisy, we found it mostly comfortable for our needs. We will recommend to family and friends traveling to Austin.

I am a recluse and when I travel I like to keep my schedule for things I do. One thing is I work out in my pool from 04:00-07:00 in the morning. I have many things to do starting at 07:00 am but this hotel which has no lifeguard at the pool on duty which I'm ok with. Chooses not to open the pool till 07:00 am. This I am not ok with. Then to my shock I paid for a breakfast but they too don't open till 07:00 am. Alas I have a meeting at 08:00 am so no pool and no breakfast. Why pay for a hotel in the first place? Why pay extra for preceved exclusive treatment? Hilton has become a disappointment for me. Don't they know that the world doesn't operate starting at 07:00 am? It would be novel to have a hotel that is more interested in the client than some ancient rules regarding the use of time. We all at the end of the day are paying for the privilege to be taken care of while away from our homes. They should take care of their customers better and be more flexible with their use of time and use of facilities we are paying for. A customer trapped in his room because the house he is in isn't open yet. Yet we pay for access from 16:00 - 07:00. Daily to make us feel like home. But, that's not true is it.. I know join the YMCA and head over to a Denny's. Hilton doesn't sound like they have your back until 07:00. Just your wallet. -

The hotel is nice but you might have a crappy view from your room but it is in the middle of everything. The staff was super friendly and they actually complemented my family for how nice we were! The rooms are nice and clean. Just be aware it can get noisy at night but the hotel does provide noise makers and earplugs. Lastly I do love the lobby it was very relaxing there and they do have a pool table. I would recommend staying here!!!!

I had such a great experience during my stay at the Canopy by Hilton in Austin. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the front desk agent, she was absolutely amazing! Friendly, professional, and made check-in a breeze.

The valet attendants were also fantastic, courteous and efficient, and my vehicle was retrieved quickly each time.

The room itself was modern, cozy, and thoughtfully designed. I especially appreciated the stylish décor and the high-quality shower amenities that made winding down at the end of the day extra relaxing.

Overall, a fantastic stay! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Austin.

My wife and I live in Austin and urgently needed a pet friendly place to stay. Hilton Canopy has been a great choice. Valet and front desk were just great. Not over the top, but definitely welcoming, knowledgeable and made us feel safe. The courtyard is relaxing and Verbena has been a dining choice long before we stayed here. The amenities for our dog were surprisingly good. While we aren't here for vacation or for business, it has been a very nice place to stay, rest and disconnect.

The hotel itself is beautiful, but if you’re hoping for a restful night’s sleep, this is not the place. Loud music blared well into the night(3AM), making it nearly impossible to relax. I also didn’t feel entirely safe during my stay. To their credit, the hotel seems aware of the ongoing noise issues—they provided earplugs, a tiny white noise machine that didn’t help much, and sleep strips for your tongue. It was a nice gesture, but not enough. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

Diamond member honest review of a Memorial Day weekend 2025 stay. Do not stay here if you appreciate quiet, water pressure, or a comfortable bed.

Pros: Location and proximity to the Capitol.

Cons:
- Very poor water pressure on the 6th floor. No joke, only one of the shower head settings even worked the pressure was so low. Be prepared to take a long shower.
- Noise. Granted it is 6th street, so take this with a grain of salt. When you arrive to your room, you are greeted with a pair of earplugs on the nightstand! This is a bad sign. The room is mostly concrete and hard surfaces. Sound just bounces around and if you are a light sleeper, plan on falling asleep around 2AM. There are blackout curtains in the room, but there is also an uncovered window behind the clothes hanging area, so light is going to come in regardless.
- Uncomfortable bed and pillows. The bed was unreasonably stiff and the pillows were not very good.
- Humidity in the room. There was a surprisingly high level of humidify in the room. The furniture had bubbles and water stains. Now I understand why. We filled the ice bucket, and by the next morning, the puddle of condensation around it filled the bottom of the tray it was in. Any glassware that had ice in it, had a puddle under it within seconds.
- Parking is valet only. The rate is $54 per day. You can valet for less as a guest at the Waldorf Astoria in Vegas! No joke, it was $45 at the Waldorf just last week.

I had a fantastic time at this hotel! The design is sleek and modern, and the location can’t be beat—right in the heart of downtown, walking distance to everything. The rooftop pool area is such a gem—perfect for relaxing during the day and transforms into a lively scene when events are happening (which is often!). The atmosphere is always buzzing in the best way.

What really stood out, though, was the service. Every staff member I encountered was warm and professional, but a special shoutout to Olivia at the bar—she’s a total pro and made our experience extra memorable. Friendly, attentive, and makes a killer cocktail. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for style, fun, and top-tier hospitality!

I recommend this hotel. It's not too far away from the convention center and it's not so close that you're in the middle of all the traffic. I recently stayed here during SXSW. Beyond decent rooms and overall appearance, the showers, turn down service, etc. the staff made it even better. Between Rachel, Otelia, and Lauryn, etc., they were so hospitable and the service was incredible. They were so helpful and answered any and all questions. I would stay here again.

Purposely stayed in this part of town so I'm taking the hit on the loud music until 2:30am but would have liked a heads up from the desk. Lovely maids, but language barrier or something left our room uncleaned for our 3 night stay. Onsite restaurant drinks were terrible, 1 of the bar gals had terrible customer service skills. Valet was friendly just real pricey.

Firstly, the hotel is really beautiful. However, even the beauty cannot merit an extra star for 2 stars. As previous reviews stated, there is a bar (or maybe 2) surrounding the hotel that plays loud music until 2AM. It was so loud our beds were shaking. I should have known when ear plugs were by the bed (they don’t work). Our view was of a parking garage and pool, where people got drunk and yelled all throughout the night. Thankfully, Sunday and Monday it stopped at Midnight, so we just tried to stay awake until then so we wouldn’t be woken up. I didn’t bother calling front desk, because as other reviews stated, they wouldn’t do anything. Then, it was so hot in the room at night and you cannot adjust the temp. It got up to 75 one night. Just an overall miserable experience here. And the responses to the bad reviews are always generic, so my advice is for management to at least say something about the loud noise so folks can prepare. I wouldn’t have woken up the first night in a panic had I known. This hotel needs a lot of work, so I would book another location, if possible.

Customer service is lacking from several individuals within the valet as well as check-in desk. I can't help but sense annoyance when you ask questions. My husband was upset with the front desk, come down letter and tried to more pleasant. The young lady at the front desk never smiled and provided at minimum two word responses for the remainder of our stay. That was the first day. There was a younger lady there at night who was very pleasant. The cleaning staff were very friendly. The next issue is, I left my glucometer behind and have tried to inquire several times. I was rudely told that unless it was same day, I'd need to file a report online. Her instructions were blurted quickly, and mostly inaccurate. Luckily I was able to file a report. The voicemail for lost and found is full so this is clearly not a priority. Your guests may be frustrating, your job may be frustrating. This is the hospitality industry. It should thrive on customer service. This hotel is lucky with a good location for those who want to be close to a party and don't care about the service because they are so hungover nothing matters or wasted where everything is a blur, including the staff's attitudes. That's not me nor the experience I was looking for.

First, there's plenty of parking close by.
I was greeted with some champagne once I arrived. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable.
Bartender Sam was welcoming and friendly.
The restaurant has a great burger, but I would skip the pasta as it is very bland.
I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Austin.

I recently stayed at this hotel Nov 17-19 and while it has a lot of potential, there were some significant issues that impacted my experience. The hotel itself is very stylish, but I wish I had been made aware of the noise levels prior to booking. Being located on Six Street in the entertainment district, I expected some activity, but the hotel is directly next to two clubs, and the noise from the alley, especially on Monday nights, was quite disruptive as The sound of trash being collected until around 3 AM made it even more challenging to get a good night's sleep.

Additionally, I encountered difficulties with the staff's availability during late-night hours. Between 1 AM and 3 AM, I found it hard to reach anyone to discuss the possibility of switching rooms due to the noise. I also requested non-down pillows in my room, but unfortunately, all the pillows provided were down, and my request for alternatives was not accommodated.

On the morning of my second day, I tried to reach out to a supervisor to share my feedback—not seeking a discount or anything, just hoping for a conversation. However, I have not received any follow-up via phone or email.

Overall, while I appreciate the hotel's ambiance, I believe there are areas that need improvement, particularly regarding noise management and customer service. I would recommend considering other accommodations in the area

Austin Proper Hotel, a Member of Design Hotels

The hotel’s prime location near Sixth Street and the Paramount Theater made it easy to explore the city’s vibrant nightlife and cultural attractions. The rooms were beautifully appointed with high-quality furnishings and comfortable bedding.

The onsite spa was a highlight of my stay, offering a variety of relaxing treatments that left me feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The hotel’s restaurants served delicious food, and I particularly enjoyed the Mediterranean cuisine. The swimming pool and outdoor entertainment area were perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun.

Overall, I highly recommend the Austin Proper Hotel for anyone seeking a truly luxurious and unforgettable experience in Austin.

Overall
Nice hotel but beware of fees

Positive
+ Nicely designed hotel and rooms.
+ Staff very friendly and helpful
+ Well maintained and cleaned
+ Breakfast tasted good

Negative
- The restaurant added a 4% "Wellness fee" to all bills. Asking at the reception I was told this was to help the community. Researching only it seems it is meant to pay for employees' health benefits. Really poor style to add such costs as extras, instead of having them included in the base price of the dishes. This is also on top of the daily "Resort fee" being added to room cost.
- My in-room speaker didn't work (cable didn't provide power). I mentioned it twice during my three day stay but it was never fixed.
- While my room was cleaned well daily, stuff I had rearranged (lamps, hotel ads, etc.) were always moved back. I don't want to always have to look at ads for the spa while washing my hands.
- I couldn't see any environmental work being done

I want to begin by saying how much I admire the property. It truly is one of the most beautiful and elevated spaces in Austin, which is why I’ve chosen to frequent it often and recommend it to guests from out of town. However, I feel compelled to share my disappointment with the inconsistency I’ve experienced during visits, most recently last night.
I had called ahead to confirm seating availability at La Piscina for my mother, who was visiting from New York and loves dining there. I was told there were three seats available first come first serve (not a problem) hopped in the car and headed that way ( keep in mind I don’t live that far). When we arrived, however, she was told at valet that the hotel was at capacity and we would not be allowed in. This was confusing and frustrating—especially after being assured over the phone that seats were available at the bar.
What troubles me most is that this isn’t an isolated incident. Despite the number of times I’ve visited and brought guests from around the country, I’ve found the communication and overall guest experience to be consistently inconsistent. For a property of this caliber, one that positions itself as an elevated alternative in a city with limited options this level of unpredictability is disheartening.
I hope you’ll take this as constructive feedback. Experiences like this make me hesitant to continue recommending or frequenting the property, which is disappointing given how much I value what you’ve built. I’d love to see greater consistency in communication and guest accessibility moving forward so that the experience matches the beauty and potential of the hotel itself.

This was our second visit to the restaurant, and it was just as perfect as the first. We shared a couple of dishes today, and everything was excellent—but what really stood out was the service from our waiter, Chris.

From the moment he approached our table, Chris was warm, friendly, and genuinely thoughtful. He handled all of our requests with ease and had a perfect sense of timing—always attentive without being intrusive.

I also want to highlight the positive energy from Manager Kaylee. I let her know directly how much we’ve enjoyed our visits, and it’s clear that her management style has a positive impact on both the staff and the overall guest experience. The welcoming atmosphere here truly reflects great leadership.

Austin Proper is one of my absolute favorite hotels in Austin I've had been staying there multiple times, and each visit has been nothing short of fantastic.

The rooms at Austin Proper are modern, impeccably clean, and well-stocked with everything you could possibly need. The staff is incredibly helpful and always go above and beyond to ensure guests have a comfortable stay. The location of the hotel is also superb, making it very convenient for exploring the city.

As a boutique hotel, Austin Proper offers a unique and charming atmosphere that sets it apart from larger chain hotels. The gym is top-notch, providing a great space to keep up with your fitness routine while traveling. Plus, the hotel boasts excellent restaurants that serve delicious meals.

I highly recommend staying at Austin Proper if you find yourself in Austin. It's a remarkable place that truly enhances the travel experience.

We spent more time than usual at the hotel because it was so enjoyable. Bar was always looking so fun and on the last night I had a delicious light bite and martini just right. La Piscina is excellent and breakfast very good at Peacock. Rooms are comfortable with great shades and Aesop product. Also incredible shower and super decor. Coffee in Goldie’s also great perk. Favorite hotel in Austin. Interior design is sleek and makes this place. Beds/rooms are great, pool is fantastic to hang out in and the Mexican restaurant poolside has phenomenal fajitas. Even the elevators with the hanging animal hide are spot on. The gym bathrooms have a great steam room to start the day as well. Don’t hesitate to book this place.

Austin Proper was fantastic. Staff was EXTREMELY helpful and nice. The lobby bar/restaurant was PACKED every night regardless the day of the week. I’m talking 2-3 people deep at the bar and standing room only. I asked the staff why this hotel seemed more of a hotspot than others in the area and was told because there are four different bars in one hotel it’s a one-stop-shop in a great location. Rooms were a bit small, but still great. Only thing I didn’t care for was there was no “do not disturb” sign for the door which I’ve never seen in a hotel before. I was hoping to save the housekeeping staff some trouble but they were ON IT and kept my room immaculate…even repacked my suitcase when it exploded upon arrival 😬

This hotel was amazing!!!!! I can’t say enough nice things. My wife and I stayed here after our wedding. The staffed greeted us with waters and champagne we checked the check in process was so EASY and effortless the staff took our bags to the room. We then hit the pool the margs are a must!!!! They have such a good tequila list to chose from. The room was so lovely it had a balcony the restaurant down stairs had the best breakfast. This hotel is a must.

Had an amazing experience staying at the Proper! Spent multiple night at the hotel bar. Chris, the bartender, was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable—he made us feel right at home and had great recommendations. The drinks were perfectly crafted and absolutely delicious. On top of that, the food was incredible—way beyond our expectations for a hotel bar. Great atmosphere, fantastic service, and top-tier cocktails. Highly recommend!

Striking interior, moody lighting, tall ceilings, and a clean aesthetic that blends modern chic with subtle edge. It’s always been a favorite quiet corner to spark my creativity.

But it seems times have changed. Under new management, locals are no longer welcome unless they're renting a room.

As someone who’s found inspiration here many times before, I was asked to leave. Perhaps they'll revisit this policy one day. Until then, it’s no longer a haven for locals, casual business meetings, or muses; just a hotel for guests.

Unprompted, I wanted to leave a review of this great hotel. It was one of the best, if not the best, stay I've ever had. Everyone is going to mention the awesome design work, but it deserves a mention (especialky the tile work in the gym locker room). The e-bikes allowed us to see way more of the city and save on cab fare which was a unique and really beneficial amenity. The date balls at the spa were great, I had so many. Steam room was powerful, though a bit small. The gym was very big for a hotel gym. Shout out to Oscar, Will, Jared, and Joshua for the hospitality. If I had to nit pick, it would be for a welcome gift sent to the room to align with the dietary preferences listed on the Marriott profile; and to upgrade to the suites for high loyalty customers. I would love to stay here again!

⭐ Verbena Spa is exceptional, but the hotel's customer service was disappointing.

Upon arrival at Austin Proper Hotel, the doorman repeatedly refused to let us in, insisting the spa was closed—even after I showed him my confirmed reservation. I have never been spoken to so rudely or disregarded as a paying guest. Thankfully, a female staff member saw the interaction, intervened, and escorted us inside.

Once at Verbena Spa, the experience was completely different—outstanding service, unmatched hospitality, and a truly relaxing atmosphere. Julie and Jasmine were both excellent and made the visit worthwhile. However, the treatment at the entrance left a lasting negative impression. Because of this, we’ve removed The Proper from our list of recommended hotels for our upcoming wedding. Disappointing service at the door, but the spa itself is fantastic.

During my visit to Austin Proper, Giulio provided an exceptional guest experience from start to finish. He was incredibly welcoming, ensuring we were comfortably seated and had drinks in hand without any wait. Giulio’s attentiveness and efficiency made the entire evening seamless, whether we were at the bar or dining in the hotel’s restaurants. His knowledge of the menu, quick service, and warm personality stood out, making the experience truly memorable. Giulio’s dedication to hospitality reflects the high standards of Austin Proper, and his service was a highlight of our visit.

A Truly Unforgettable Stay – Where Luxury Meets Love

From the moment we arrived at Austin Proper, we were treated to an experience beyond anything we could have imagined. What was originally planned as a simple getaway quickly became one of the most memorable moments of our lives, thanks to the impeccable service and thoughtful touches from the hotel team.

As Platinum Fine Hotel & Resorts guests, we were greeted with a warm welcome, a complimentary room upgrade, and a personal visit from a manager bearing fresh fruit and a handwritten note—such a thoughtful touch! The reception team went above and beyond, working with my fiancé to secure a reservation at the hotel’s cocktail bar, where we were seated on the romantically lit patio, creating the perfect intimate atmosphere. The beautifully crafted menu, paired with the stunning decor of the hotel, made every moment feel like something out of a dream. It set the stage for the night he asked me to be his forever—a moment I will cherish for a lifetime.

Our room was absolutely stunning—impeccably clean, modern yet cozy, and stocked with complimentary Bloom beverages and sparkling water drink mixes. I always do a barefoot walk test in hotels, and Austin Proper passed with flying colors—spotless floors and an unparalleled level of cleanliness.

The attention to detail, the genuine care, and the seamless way the entire staff played a role in this special moment made our stay truly unforgettable. This hotel is an absolute gem, and we can’t wait to return and relive the magic all over again!

The Carpenter Hotels With Balcony Austin

The hotel’s location near Zilker Park provided a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with furnished balconies offering beautiful views of the surrounding area.

I particularly enjoyed the poolside bar and the delicious food at Carpenters Hall. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. Overall, I highly recommend The Carpenter Hotel for anyone looking for a tranquil and enjoyable getaway in Austin.

Pawning off prison-vibe as minimalist-hip, this hotel is closer to a hostel than a real establishment. Love paper thin walls and doors? Enjoy the bare plywood aesthetic? Want to feel what it's like to stay at a construction site? This place is for you.

The Carpenter Hotel has been my favorite stay in recent memory. It's chic, but not pretentious. The food is amazing, and it's a cool hangout spot for guests and for the public. Instead of being exclusive, the vibe is to bring people together with unique events (that honestly I wish I would be in town for) and cool spaces. You can tell that the staff truly cares about the property and paying homage to the location. The pool is luscious, the grounds are beautifully kept, and everything from the high-quality, yummy-smelling shampoo and conditioner in the room to the free beverages they give you during your stay are thoughtful. Yes, you have to pay for parking, but they have a parking attendant who actually watches the garage. Also, we felt like we saved money in other ways. You don't have to check out until noon (praise! I am so sick of 10am check-out times). From 2-5pm, the restaurant offers happy hour, and the entire menu is 1/2 off. We enjoyed the crispy potatoes, gem salad, and burger with our free prosecco and it was delicious. I will dream about those potatoes, and we only paid $70 for three dishes and two drinks. Plus, the hotel doesn't charge extra for having pets. At places like a Hilton, you can't get internet or even bottles of water for free. For a boutique hotel in such a central, cool location, I don't think it gets much better. The Carpenter is really doing it better than most other places, and we loved our stay. 10/10

Nice-not great property. No coffee, microwave, or iron in the room and the bed is really low to the ground. You are charged for parking for each night you are there…35.00 per night! The restaurant was good but man was it expensive too! On the plus side, it was very clean, cute retro vibe, and lots of green plants. The coffee shop does have great coffee too.

This little gem is perfectly located, with a total Austin vibe. Near the incomparable ZACH Theatre, there are several unique restaurants and bars within easy walking distance.
The hotel itself offers lovely amenities, including a restaurant, coffee shop, and a secluded, resort-like pool.
The staff is amazing… Alex and Sailor went out of their way to help me plan a wonderful girls’ weekend with my besties from Dallas, who enjoyed a delicious taste of what makes Austin such an iconic city.
A memorable time was had by all. We will definitely be back!

Stayed for a well at Carpenter Hotel.

The rooms are swanky, funky and hip but practically not the most feasible - especially if you are traveling on a work trip.

Besides that the hotel is very centrally located - lot of nice walking/running paths, eateries and access to downtown close by.

The staff are super friendly and helpful. There is hot coffee and breakfast savories available in the morning. The pool and restaurant seems popular.

This hotel is quite unique set in downtown Austin. It’s definitely walking distance to 6th street and Barton springs to enjoy the nightlife or a relaxing weekend. Carpenter Hotel also has it all of you never even want to leave the hotel itself. The pool was relaxing and clean, the plants and patios all around provided ample shade to relax around the entire property. The rooms were clean and spacious. The downside is paying for parking it’s pricey with the stay $75 a day. They had a small cafe with patties, coffees and sitting. The coffee was good and the lemon raspberry croissant was exquisite. We had brunch at the restaurant there on the premises while it was good I would explore other options next time. This is a great place to explore Austin from or enjoy a relaxing weekend.

This hotel is SO cute and there are tons of thoughtful little details all throughout, especially for a “three star” hotel. Much of the common spaces are outdoors which is lovely, it feels very true to Austin in a charming way. The staff were all friendly and swift to addressing any needs and it’s super close to downtown without being right in the middle of the chaos.

Just be aware there’s an “amenity fee” on top of whatever you’ve already paid for your stay. It’s $25 and they add tax to it, so $27.06. This wasn’t explained or forewarned, which is a bit odd, but it doesn’t put me off from staying the next time I’m in Austin.

I just returned from a stay at the Carpenter Hotel, and overall, I had a wonderful experience. This place doesn’t feel like a generic hotel—it feels like a love letter to Austin. The design is beautiful, the atmosphere is peaceful, and there’s a clear sense of creativity and care in every detail. My room was stylish and comfortable, and the balcony and courtyard made it feel like a true retreat.

That said, there were a few rough edges. The breakfast service was disorganized—I didn’t realize the table cards were required to order, and when I scanned the wrong one, the server was unexpectedly rude about it. For a $23 breakfast, I also had to grab my own napkin and silverware, and there wasn’t even salt or pepper on the table. The coffee shop barista also seemed irritated when I didn’t know the exact name of the drink I wanted. And when I asked for a luggage cart, I was told to find it myself—which I never did, so I ended up carrying everything on my own.

Also: definitely book parking in advance. The lot is extremely tight, especially on holiday weekends. Even with a reservation, parking was a challenge.

Still, I genuinely enjoyed my stay and would absolutely return. The good far outweighs the bad, and with just a bit more attention to hospitality, the Carpenter Hotel could go from great to truly exceptional.

Really great experience all around! The hotel has historic charm mixed with modern upgrades. When we arrived we were given a complimentary glass of bubbly, and each day we were allowed one complimentary drink that could be used at the coffee shop or the restaurant, we just had to go to the front desk each day to get our tokens. Rooms were as pictured on the website, AC gets very cold which is a plus. The pool was great, bar service and always stocked with fresh towels. We went in June where the temp was 85-105 so a pool was a must. Coffee shop had great breakfast tacos and chilled banana nut oats. We didn’t get a chance to try the restaurant other than during happy hour where we got some drinks and a delicious mixed nut plate - our server was very friendly. The hotel is located right outside downtown, just a 10-15 minutes walk across the river. It was also a 15 minutes walk to the ‘blues on the green’ free music festival which was a great time.

one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed at - great design, seriously *fantastic* coffee shop, and great location. The design, interior and otherwise (graphics, posters, etc) was impeccable. I loved the royal blue tiling in the bathroom and the brick throughout the buildings. The hotel used to be a union hall and they preserve that history throughout which is really cool. My room was cozy and comfortable, the water pressure was great in the shower, and wifi was fast. This hotel is definitely great if you plan to remote work during your stay, lots of benches and tables throughout the property to sit at outside. The coffee shop had the best orange blossom latte I’ve ever had, but the restaurant is just ok. Food wasn’t in great portions but ambiance was nice.

We had a lovely stay at the Carpenter over SXSW. The staff was lovely, the rooms were impeccably clean, the grounds were beautifully maintained, and the location was excellent. Appreciated the on-site parking, walkable bars and restaurants, and cold brew and breakfast tacos in the morning. Thank you Carpenter team!

Probably the most unique and cool hotel I’ve stayed in. Has a soul to it and charm. Comfy cool rooms, little bit noisy street (train, traffic) and AC machine. Lounge area is super cool.

An excellent place!! My boyfriend and I came out to Austin for my birthday and we found this nice hotel! We brought our EScooters and did the fun thing and explored the city and surrounding areas!
The staff at Carpenter were great as well, anything we needed was supplied quickly. The hotel is a cool building with concrete floors and ceilings in the rooms. We stayed in the Large King and the decor was very nice.

We will be back another time for sure! Cheers 😊

This hotel was so unique and fun! Everything was so aesthetic and thoughtfully designed, we really enjoyed it! It’s an indoor/outdoor hotel, so you do have to go outdoors to go to check in/coffee, but I thought that’s what made it so unique! We tried the restaurant, the food/drinks tasted very good and the decor was beautiful. The coffee shop was also one of my favorite parts! I personally dislike those keurig type coffee makers with the powder creamers that most hotels have, and this was 100x better. Yes, you do have to leave your room to get coffee, but I think the lavender latte with oat milk is worth it! Their merch is very trendy/hip and featured local artisans. The location was excellent as well, we were able to walk into the downtown Austin area in less than 20 minutes, and it was a beautiful walk over the river! Overall we really enjoyed our stay and we plan to come back during the spring or summer!

I had a wonderful stay at the Carpenter Hotel in Austin last Friday. The hotel has such a charming atmosphere and the staff was warm and welcoming. In the evening, we enjoyed some fantastic cocktails at the bar – the perfect way to unwind. The next morning, the coffee was excellent, and the cozy setting made it a great spot to relax before heading out. Overall, it was a perfect escape from San Antonio, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Austin.

Amazing, unique stay! I loved my stay at The Carpenter, the decor was so thoughtfully done and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was fantastic and friendly as well! (Shoutout to Victoria for being so sweet and helpful when my flight got canceled and asked to spend an extra day). I will absolutely be back, thanks for a wonderful stay!

Hotel Magdalena

I recently stayed at Hotel Magdalena and had a fantastic experience. The hotel’s location near South Congress Avenue made it easy to explore the city’s vibrant nightlife and shopping scene. The rooms were modern, clean, and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always going out of their way to assist with any requests.

I particularly enjoyed the hotel’s outdoor pool and the delicious food at the onsite restaurant. The free bicycle rentals were a great way to explore the city at your own pace. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Magdalena for anyone looking for a stylish and convenient stay in Austin.

Everything was going swimmingly for the first two nights. Nice room and balcony, cool pool area, nice staff. Then on Night 3, my boyfriend and I lost track of time and stayed out on our balcony talking too late. (Because it was a Friday night and we were on vacation.) The hotel had two noise complaints from our neighbors and, instead of attempting to call the phone in the room or knock on our door to alert us, they literally just CALLED THE COPS instead! Not hotel security, literal COPS showed up at our door. We weren't playing music, no devices on at all, no yelling. We were not being threatening or raucous. We feel really sorry that we disturbed people and would have come inside right away if the hotel had simply called our room and brought our attention to how late it was. Instead, they opted to scare the crap out of us AND waste police time. It was honestly one of the most surreal experiences of my life.

The hotel is nice but the people running it are clowns. Who calls the cops because of a conversation?!?

I recently stayed at this hotel which had nice accommodations and pleasant amenities. However, my experience was somewhat marred by poor communication regarding my security deposit. I enjoyed some chips from the minibar, but there was a $16 charge related to that, which resulted in a hold on my card.

After checking out, I called ten days later to ask about the situation, only to be advised to wait two full weeks. When two weeks passed, I followed up again and was informed that I needed to pay the $16 to have my deposit released. This left me feeling frustrated, as I had to make multiple inquiries for clarity on a situation that seemed straightforward.

Overall, while the hotel itself was nice, the lack of clear communication and resolution regarding the security deposit detracted from my overall experience. I hope they can improve their processes for future guests.

We stayed at Hotel Magdalena for 3 nights in August of 2025. We booked using our Chase Sapphire Reserve since this hotel is now featured on "the edit" by Chase. This gave us some extra perks but just wanted to add context of where we were at with our expectations and how they were met/not met.

OVERALL: This place was very very good. It was close to great IMO, but just a couple of things held it back from a 5 star stay for me. You will most likely really like this place if you are staying here for leisure. Let me start with the pros

PROS:
Location - One of the best parts of the experience. SoCo is buzzing and it's awesome to be near it, while still being one street off the main drag for a little more peace and quiet.

Vibes - Great vibes. This place is way cooler than me. However, it's not pretentious at all. Staying at a place that feels this hip is definitely a plus and holds genuine value.

Pool - Hung out here for hours every day. Great chairs, not too crowded, and a great mix of sun and shade.

Soaps/Lotions - They feel premium!

One thing stood out to me in a negative way...
CON:

Amenities - This was probably the most disappointing in our experience. On the website, they advertise bikes, which was something we were looking forward to, but in reality....this was a bit of a stretch. While they DID have bikes, only three of them were actually operating, and they were being used by other guests the entire time we were there. With no reservation system and only three bikes, it truly was just a lottery system. A similar thing happened with the yoga mats we requested. Other small things seemed to be in short supply as well. The room lacked basic hotel amenities. No ice machine, no seating outside of your bed, and most notably - no iron/board.

This was all disappointing given the price we paid.

We really enjoyed our stay and we think you would too! If you are here for business and need legitimate amenities, I wouldn't recommend this place. If you are here for vibes and a good time by the pool, book it!

This hotel is so adorable and it's located in a great area! The area is safe and surrounded by so many things to do. There's plenty of shopping and great restaurants to walk to. Rainy street and 6th street is only 2 miles away if you want to bar hop, but if you don't want all the craziness, this place is perfect. The lake is only 1 mile away. The staff was great too. Everyone was attentive, sweet, and professional. I can't wait to return to this cute charming hotel.

If you reserve it in person, ask for the total with fees. They didn't mention the amenity fee of $28 when I arrived in person to reserve the room. They refunded that though. On the internet they do include all fees before you check out. Overall friendly though, very pet friendly. Coffee was out in the lobby when i went for a refill at 10am, they could run 2 containers to prevent running out. For the price and location, I liked it.

We had a great experience with our stay! The staff was absolutely fantastic from
The valet to the manager walking the grounds till the wee hours of the night making sure things were in order! We stayed for a staycation one night and it was amazing. You are literally in your own world with the trees and amazing ambience. The housekeeping staff did a great job making sure everything was in perfect order! We also had a drink at the bar and the wait staff/bartenders were awesome! The front desk guy was so helpful and just has a zen calm personality that was overflowing throughout the staff! This was a splurge for us but we will definitely be saving our coins to stay again!!!

The location is absolutely perfect. It’s walking distance to shopping and cutsie restaurants and coffee shops. The layout of the building(s) and rooms are very cool as well. The whole pool area is such a vibe; it felt like we were at a resort. The staff members were all so chill, but also very professional and seemed to be very experienced! Ivy at front desk was our group’s favorite! The only reason I can’t give this place a full 5 stars is a very slight cleanliness concern. I ended up finding two used contact lenses in our room as I was getting ready. However, I will 100% choose Magdalena the next time I come to Austin!

This hotel is a great location but no parking. I initially choose this hotel because I thought every room would have a good view. I was wrong. Valet parking is advertised as $55/ day then they charge $59.54. $225/ night for a very basic room. We were on the first floor, corner room seemed next to maintenance because we were woken up by their noise at 8am- room 103. The shampoo and body wash they use are great but they will charge an extra $30 amenity fee. Amenity fee is not disclosed at check in but charged at check out.

We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Magdalena and had a great time! Baker at the front desk was awesome—super helpful and sorted out some minor room issues fast. The treehouse suites are fantastic—big and loaded with amenities. The restaurant service was a letdown, though; understaffing meant slow seating, room service trays left out all day, and a pool area that wasn’t kept up well. Still, great location - we would stay again!

My daughter recommended a staycation here for a friend’s birthday celebration. Everyone we interacted with kind and welcoming. They even left some delicious donuts from the restaurant as a welcome/birthday gift. They were the best donuts we have ever tasted! After having, we knew we had to eat at Summer House for all of our meals and it did not disappoint, even for my picky friend. The room felt like being in a treehouse surrounded by beautiful cypress trees, while being downtown and having a view of the city skyline. The private screened in patio was amazing and perfect for relaxing. I will definitely come back and recommend to others!

Absolute incredible time at Hotel Magdalena. From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and eager to make me the most comfortable. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and tastefully decorated. The interior design was so Austin, Texas but make it chic 🧡
Boutique style and so cozy!

Plus the location is perfectly close to iconic downtown Austin and all the iconic stores. I can’t wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable Austin, TX stay!

We are locals and wanted to stay in town one night for a few holiday parties we were attending. While familiar with the minimal style of this hotel brand, this one felt bare minimum.
Showers were luke warm at best and even after a request it wasn’t any warmer. This wouldn’t usually be an issue to me, but the showers are open wet rooms in the bath, at least ours was, so it felt very cold. Bedside tables didn’t have working outlets or an outlet at all. The (king size) bed had one fitted sheet and one duvet (no flat sheet), which barely reached the corners of the bed, like it was made for a full sized bed.
Little detail things, but they make a stay comfy. I wouldn’t recommend a stay here. Food and bar is lovely, stick to that.

I absolutely love this hotel. I travel a lot for work, so I’d say I’m well versed in hotels. Every staff member I interacted with was so kind and helpful, which to me reflects that they are being compensated well (they def should be). the rooms are beautiful and a great size. it’s quiet. amazing bed. great water pressure. the pool is a nice size with a lot of lounge chairs and pool towels. it was so hot but the pool was nice and cool. very clean and I love the layout. right off of Congress but it feels secluded. lots of good food spots to walk to. I will def be back! thank you for an amazing stay.

Hotel ZaZa Austin

The hotel’s prime location near Sixth Street and the Austin Convention Center made it easy to explore the city’s vibrant nightlife and business district. The rooms were beautifully appointed with high-quality furnishings and comfortable bedding.

The onsite spa was a highlight of my stay, offering a variety of relaxing treatments that left me feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The hotel’s restaurant, Group Therapy, served delicious food and offered a variety of dining options. The swimming pool and outdoor entertainment area were perfect for relaxing and soaking up the sun.

Overall, I highly recommend Hotel ZaZa Austin for anyone seeking a truly luxurious and unforgettable experience in Austin.

We had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. After a long and exhausting journey of about an hour and a half, we arrived only to discover that the hotel’s website was extremely confusing. By mistake, we had booked in Houston instead of Austin.

At first, the front desk receptionist was very kind and assured us there was no problem, and that they would change the booking for us to something equivalent. However, when the front desk manager, Casey, arrived, he demanded a significant extra payment. Not only was he unfriendly, but his entire attitude was unpleasant and unwelcoming.

The next morning, after waking up a bit late, we simply asked for a small extension, an extra hour or so before checking out. Again, Casey insisted we would need to pay more. What made this even more unreasonable was that the hotel was far from full occupancy; the place was nearly empty, so there was absolutely no issue in allowing a late checkout without charge.

It felt like every request came with an additional demand for payment, with no real sense of hospitality. Overall, the service and treatment we received from Casey, the front desk manager, were unacceptable, unfriendly, unhelpful, and far from the level of customer service one would expect. Unfortunately, the value did not justify the price, and we left feeling very disappointed.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. There is a lovely breakfast and coffee bar on each floor in the mornings too, so you don't have to go far to get exactly what you need in the morning! The valet team had our car to us in minutes every time we needed to go out. The location couldn't be better, you are surrounded by places to eat, drink, hear music.. I highly recommend staying here, and I will definitely be back here when I'm back in town!

My now husband and I spent a lot of time deciding where to stay for our wedding weekend, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice!! From the moment we walked in, we knew we’d made the right decision - the staff were incredibly sweet, welcoming, and they actually surprised us with a wonderful upgrade since we were newlyweds - it was so unbelievably kind, it actually brought tears to my eyes! Our room, and the property itself were absolutely stunning - very unique, well taken care of, and spotless. We also loved the food and drinks at Group Therapy, everything we had was delicious. Every single detail of our stay truly impressed us - we will definitely be returning! Thank you Hotel ZaZa for making our celebration even more special!!

Great location for this hotel and the rooms and amenities are very nice. Lots of little touches like a coffee bar in the elevator lobby and cookies and candy when you walk into the lobby. The only complaint I have is that the televisions are ancient in this day and age in a premium hotel you expect a smart TV that you can run apps on. Their system is antiquated and frustrating. I’d give them five stars if they get some new TVs.

My wife and I love to stay here. We live close by in Georgetown but some nights we like to stay in the city. The ZaZa has great big and comfortable rooms. The valet service is easy and fast, and they have courtesy cars that will take you to local bars and restaurants. The bar/restaurant on the 7th floor, group therapy has a great menu and great cocktails. It’s a great place to stay.

This was our favorite hotel in Texas! We loved the ambiance and extras like the water, pillow snacks in the evening and the lobby cookies in the afternoon. The beds were so soft and comfortable. Everything was clean and the location is great. The valet boys are awesome and very hardworking dudes. We won’t stay anywhere else in Austin.

My husband and I enjoyed a fantastic stay here earlier this month. When we arrived, we were given a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was amazing. The balcony had great views of the pool as well as downtown. We loved the cookies and water/tea in the lobby each afternoon, as well as the snack and ice water left in our room each day. The best part of our stay, apart from the location, was the Magic Carpet Ride service. The valets were all friendly and seemed genuinely happy to take us anywhere we wanted to go within a 3-mile radius of the hotel. They even gave us recommendations on things to do when we had a couple of hours to kill before our flight. We will definitely be staying here the next time we return to Austin!

We recently stayed a few nights at Hotel ZaZa, and one of the true highlights was the incredible service we received from Remy at Group Therapy. From the moment we walked in, Remy made us feel like VIPs... warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Also those cookies in the lobby are AMAZING.

Whether it was remembering our drink preferences, checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, or just bringing great energy to the pool area, Remy went above and beyond. It’s rare to find someone who makes hospitality feel so personal and effortless.

Would come back 10/10

Incredibly chic hotel with kind and attentive staff. My company hosted a yearly workshop here and held all our meetings and lunches throughout the day at the hotel and the meals were outstanding. Avoid this hotel—management is dishonest and untrustworthy!

The good part:
The food at the hotel is decent, and they offer a free shuttle service that can take you to nearby places within a three-mile radius.

However, my experience here was frustrating and disappointing.

I stayed for three nights and had an issue with one male staff member who acted more like a pushy car salesman than a hospitality professional.

This hotel is right next to a construction site. At night, workers use heavy machinery to load trash into dumpsters, making constant, loud beeping noises. I was woken up at 1 AM and 5 AM, and the noise was unbearable in the quiet of the night.

I brought this up to the front desk at 7 AM, and they offered to switch my room. I asked if I needed to move my belongings before leaving for work, but they reassured me that I could do it later when I returned. Trusting their word, I packed all my things and went about my day.

When I came back in the evening, the male staff member at the front desk—who I hadn’t spoken to earlier—refused to swap my room. Even after I explained the morning conversation again and again, he blamed me for not moving earlier and was rude and dismissive. It was clear he had no intention of honoring what his colleague had promised.

After a frustrating back-and-forth, he finally agreed to the room change—but by then, the damage was done.

Their dishonesty and terrible customer service showed that they only care about keeping guests locked in, not about providing a good experience.

I initially planned to give this hotel a 4-star review, but after being lied to and disrespected, I can barely give it a 2-star rating.

Save yourself the trouble and stay somewhere else—this hotel does not deserve your money.

🏨 ❤️ 🏨 ❤️ LOVEEEEEE IT!

ZaZa Austin Downtown is our go-to hotel whenever we visit Austin. The service is outstanding, and the staff is always attentive to every detail. They make sure you have everything you need, from water and ice to complimentary snacks and drinks in the lobby.

Our first stay was during ACL Music Festival, and we loved that they provided free transportation and fun festival goodies like temporary tattoos, stools, and accessories. The hotel itself is beautiful, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable. The beds are amazing, and the decor is elegant.

We returned for Thanksgiving and my birthday, and they made it extra special by upgrading us to a Bungalow suite—it felt like a stylish studio apartment with a stunning view. They even surprised me with a bottle of champagne. Room service is convenient, especially with their late-night menu.

Another highlight is their incredible spa, perfect for unwinding. The location is amazing—right in the heart of downtown, within walking distance of great restaurants, the Capitol, and so much more. We love the area!

ZaZa Austin Downtown always exceeds our expectations, and we can’t wait to come back!

UPDATE: Got a call from the hotel manager who apologized for my experience & comped some mini-bar charges as a show of good faith. I appreciate the gesture & updated my review to 3 stars.

Regret to say that I was disappointed with my experience at Hotel Zaza. While the room was clean & bed was comfortable, service was cold and unwelcoming. I am not sure if I was greeted with a smile by a staff member at any point during my stay, & frequently got the sense that staff members felt annoyed or burdened by minor requests.

Valet was visibly frustrated when I asked him to keep my car out as I checked in & dropped off my bag. Front desk met me with a brusque "no" when I called down to see if they happened to have a phone charger (which many hotels of this caliber would). Cleaning staff member looked at me in perplexity when I asked how to access the stairwell & inquired why I would want to take the stairs. Front desk attendant was cold when activating my room key for an extra hour despite granting me a late check-out.

Ultimately, every interaction with staff members felt like a business transaction - formal, stiff, and uninviting. At this price point, I would expect more an effort to make guests feel comfortable.

Not to mention, I had an unpleasant interaction with another guest who made no effort to control his dog as it sniffed me, poked its head between my legs, pawed at me, & barked on the elevator; he completely ignored me as we got off the elevator. Overall conveyed an air pretentiousness.

South Congress Hotel

The hotel’s strategic location near the Austin Convention Center provided easy access to the city’s bustling business district and renowned landmarks. The rooms were impeccably clean, thoughtfully designed, and equipped with all the modern conveniences. The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, consistently going above and beyond to ensure a delightful stay.

I was particularly impressed by the hotel’s rooftop terrace, which offered breathtaking panoramic views of the city. The on-site restaurants served delicious cuisine, catering to a variety of tastes. The complimentary bicycle rentals were a convenient way to explore the city at my own pace, allowing me to discover hidden gems and immerse myself in the local culture.

Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend the South Congress Hotel to anyone seeking a stylish and comfortable accommodation in Austin.

Hotel and room itself is fine, nothing special. The problem is the shower is the worst shower I've ever experienced. The water trickles out. I had to get out of the shower and grab a glass to fill at the sink to rinse the shampoo out of my hair. It's also one of those showers that just has a half glass panel so it was freezing. I had an important meeting to get to, luckily I had given myself enough time otherwise I would have been late. The response from the front desk led me to believe it is something they hear about often (I assumed it needed maintenance, we have a rain showerhead and our pressure is fine). I did their survey after the stay too and no one reached out to follow up. I travel to Austin a lot for work and there are far better hotels, they usually book me a 3-star hotel that is far superior. I happened to come in a night early and booked this on my own dime, what a waste. If you have hair or plan to shower I wouldn't book this place, plenty of other amazing options nearby.

I adored my stay at South Congress Hotel. The location is unbeatable - right in the heart of Austin’s most vibrant area, surrounded by great food, live music, and local shops, yet the hotel still feels calm and tucked away.

The room was stylish and comfortable, with thoughtful touches that make you instantly relax. The gym and rooftop pool were a highlight.

Louis was so warm and accommodating, and Franny went above and beyond to make my stay feel personal and memorable. It’s rare to find that kind of genuine hospitality.

This hotel captures everything I love about Austin - creative, elevated, and welcoming. I can’t wait to come back.

My husband and I used the hotel for our room block and wedding...it was the best weekend of our lives! Erin and Lexi with the event planning team were simply unreal to work with. They were responsive, efficient, and made sure to go above and beyond to make sure we had everything that we needed. There was a mechanical issue with the AC in the Milton suite that we were using to get ready in and Erin made sure that there was multiple portable ACs in the room so we weren't warm....we were actually cold, ha! She figured out a solution in 0.2 seconds and made sure we were kept in the loop.

The food at the wedding was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Every guest was saying how it was incredible and came out HOT (which is a big deal, ha!). The drinks were flowing and soooo tasty. The staff who worked the wedding were kind, fast, and went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I also had drinks. Wedding cake was extremely yummy too!!

The hotel's venue space was ICONIC. As a couple who live in Austin, we wanted our guests to get the Austin vibe. From the lobby, courtyard, surrounding restaurants in the hotel, hotel bar, reception space....hotel rooms...everything was perfect. The customer service at this hotel is top tier for guests staying at the hotel AND for wedding couples.

I highly recommend any and all couples wanting to get married in Austin to book this space. You WILL be happy. Your guests will also love to stay here with the room block!!

We have stayed at the South Congress Hotel a number of times. It has been steadily declining each time.

My wife and I have been coming to the South Congress area for our anniversary, in July, for years. We came on a whim years ago, had a great time, and have been coming back since then. We stay there wander around shopping and visiting the local restaurants and bars.

We DID NOT get to stay there this time. I booked reservations for Friday and Saturday nights almost two months out. We showed up in the same Jeep Gladiator we have driven there for the last two trips. The same jeep gladiator that is unchanged since we had it parked in there garage, by the valet, the last two trips.

This time, however, the Valet held up his high calibrated fist, slightly lower than the highest point of our Jeep, and pronounced that it would not fit in the garage. I responded that it had been parked in their garage the last two times that we visited, with zero issues. He held up his [recently certified by the state department of weights and measures] fist and reiterated that it would not fit in the garage. I responded that we would not be staying if we could not park our vehicle on the property.

He ran inside to the front desk. I walked in behind him, thinking that this is an easily worked out issue, after telling my wife not to take her things out of the car- just in case.

When I got to the front desk, the "guest services manager", Louis, greeted me with thinly disguised animosity and asked if I was the guy with the truck that was too tall. I said yes, and politely told him that we have had the same vehicle parked in their garage numerous times and that it has never been an issue. He proceeded to tell me that he "would not overrule is valets". My thought was "OK, what is the point of you being a manager then?" while at the same time recognizing that this guy had zero inclination to even try to work things out. He was exceptionally happy to get rid of us- for whatever reason. He voiced the I'm sorry about this with the thinly veiled disdain of someone scraping gum from his shoe, as he informed me that he would not be contacting our booking service to cancel the reservation, but that I would have to do so.

Looking at the guy wearing his mask (Summer of 2025) with a sweater on under his button up short sleeve shirt, I think it was actually a prejudice issue, but I will never know. I can think of no other reason for his hostility before I even spoke to him. I cannot stress enough that there was nothing confrontational with the valet or this manager from my end. This all came from nowhere.

It worked out for the best as I sit here on the porch of a cabin attached to a winery outside of Fredericksburg. I just booked a Spa day for my wife and I hope to have time to go for a run at Enchanted Rock while she is busy. Skip South Congress, and especially the South Congress Hotel, and head for wine country. We have spent our last anniversary weekend in Austin. I will miss dinner at Perla's.

Honest Speculation: We were tagged as undesirable conservative types and they didn't want us in their Austin. I cannot think of another reason for the undeserved hostility.

First off, the staff here is genuinely awesome. Check-in was smooth and whenever we had questions (like where to grab the best breakfast tacos - crucial info!), they were super helpful and friendly. You can tell they actually care about making your stay great.

The room was really nice - clean, comfortable bed, and I loved the design; very stylish. Had everything we needed and the shower was actually hot with good water pressure (you know how hit or miss hotel showers can be).
But honestly, the location is what makes this place special. You’re right in the middle of everything on South Congress. We walked to dinner, browsed the shops, caught some live music, and didn’t need to drive anywhere. Perfect for soaking up that weird Austin energy everyone talks about.

Definitely staying here again next time we’re in town. If you’re looking for a solid place to stay in Austin that puts you right where you want to be, this is it. Worth every penny.

Had a great stay at the South Congress Hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Loved the bar with its great selection and lively atmosphere. The common areas are very comfortable and perfect for lounging, working, or socializing.

The gym is well equipped for a hotel, with Peloton bikes and fitness mirrors (I believe from Mirror or a similar brand), which was a nice touch. The pool has a relaxed, low-key vibe that we really enjoyed.

Our room had a good balance of style and function. The only downside was the very dim lighting, which wasn’t ideal on a rainy Fourth of July weekend. Still, everything else more than made up for it.

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of South Congress and within walking distance of great shops and restaurants. Highly recommend.

Did a resort pass for the day with my best friend, 11/10 highly recommend. Julianna the bartender was THE BEST. It was SO busy and she held down the entire place on her own with no issue. Drinks and service were phenomenal and she even took excellent photos.

In March my husband and I stayed here for our wedding night. Even though we did not get married at the hotel, they treated as if we did! They sent a bottle of champagne and congratulations. We were so touched by their amazing hospitality. The staff and hotel itself are just wonderful in general! I highly recommend it! We’re local and we love staying here for a staycation!

I was in town for a conference at another hotel but chose to stay here because it was more reasonably priced and MUCH nicer. All of the staff were wonderful and so responsive and helpful. Room comfy and clean. Nicely stocked mini bar with local food and drinks. Loved the morning coffee in the lobby and the cocktail bar at night. The little coffee shop was great as well - and was giving out free coffee when I was there as well! 10/10, would stay again any time I come to Austin.

Really enjoyed my trip at South congress hotel, very modern hotel with a really cool style! The rooms were very spacious and the bed and pillow made me knock out really easily. The coffee kit was fantastic as well!
The bathroom was huge with a gigantic mirror and a pretty big shower, I will definitely recommend to others and will come back when I’m Austin!

Called in to the front desk, before heading to brunch. Asked specifically if Cafe No Se would validate parking in the subterranean garage. The front desk said, unequivocally, “Yes.” Without any conditions mentioned.

On our way out of the garage the validation wouldn’t let us out, so we pressed the little button for help.

The guy that came downstairs to “help” us, was quite rude and acted like we were trying to get out of paying for parking. Apparently the validation is only good for 2 hours. Something that no one at the front desk, or at the restaurant told us.

The food was okay, but being treated poorly regarding the parking garage left a bad taste in our mouth. Our $70 lunch for 2 wasn’t enough. They wanted $13 more for parking also.

Better places in town, with easier parking, and that won’t read you the riot act.

Won’t return. Miss the old Cafe No Se on Rainey. This space wasn’t as cool, and the experience was sub par.

Pretty surprised about how this hotel panned out compared to what we paid. Here's my laundry list, some small some big:

- Charged (not just authorized) $150 up front for incidentals
- First Thursday music turned the place into a night club and negated the quaint bar. No warning about this event was given.
- The shower had a window in it to living space!
- Rectangle toilet
- No bathroom fan
- Very dim lights and few in room
- No temperature control on bathroom fixtures
- No bag in wire garbage can
- No coffee maker
- Ceiling unpainted, looks like parking garage
- Bed hard as a rock and pillows useless
- No gluten free options for dining
- Loud street
- Thermostat did nothing - 72 no matter what
- No recommendations book
- Uncomfortable chairs
- Internet doesn’t work consistently
- Sparsely and cheaply decorated rarely used spare guest room vibe

I definitely wouldn't stay here again, despite the prime location.

We stayed for New Years, 2025. I cannot say enough great things about this hotel, the staff and amenities. The staff went above and beyond, especially Rebecca at the front desk. The 3rd floor room was awesome. The local drinks and food did not disappoint. Yes, south congress is crowded and a tourist attraction, but there are tons of things to do, get out and see/do and get into downtown. The restaurants and bars were great. This hotel was worth the money spent to feel luxurious and pampered on vacation. Great, Strong work South Congress Hotel!!!!!!!
