I have been here for one day and can honestly tell you this hotel is 3 stars at best. Everything is completely overpriced. The rooms do not have a fan in the bathroom, a microwave, or a refrigerator that can be used as it is stocked up with drinks by the hotel and there is no room for vacationers personal food items. The rooms are not worth the price. There are no washers or dryers at the facilities, but they will send out your clothing to be cleaned for a high price. The restaurant charges 5 star prices, but has 2 star food. The salad was meh, the onion soup (without bread) was tasteless, and within 10 minutes of eating it, I was sick. I have to eat gluten free and believe my meal was cross contaminated although I took precautions ahead of time. I don’t think their knowledge of food allergies is as good as it should be. Do not bring children here as there isn’t much for them to eat and I would not trust if your child has Celiac, that they won’t become contaminated. The restaurants in the area say they have gluten free food, but I will probably starve this week as I do not trust them. I didn’t have a choice of staying here because this is where my husband was sent for a business trip. I have honestly had better rooms and amenities at a Holiday Inn. I am paying for location only.I AM ADDING AN UPDATE: It states on the website that you have laundry facilities. I asked three employees where the laundry facilities were and they said you don’t have any facilities. You shouldn’t offer something you do not have. It’s false advertisement.

Disappointing Experience for the Price – Not Worth $638/NightI was extremely disappointed with my stay at Hotel ZaZa Houston Museum District, especially considering the $638.17 per night price tag. I visited Houston for a one-night girls' trip with my friend, planning to relax and enjoy a nice dinner on a Sunday, but the experience was far from what we expected.1️⃣ Strong Mildew Smell – As soon as we stepped off the third-floor elevator, we were hit with an overwhelming mildew odor that was hard to ignore. Unfortunately, the smell continued throughout the room.2️⃣ Basic & Underwhelming Rooms – For the price, I expected more. The room was extremely basic, missing even simple amenities like a magnifying mirror in the bathroom, and the TV remote didn’t work.3️⃣ Early Morning Disruption – After losing an hour to Daylight Saving Time, we were rudely awakened at 6 AM by loud clattering, carts shuffling, and talking from housekeeping, as our room was right next to their quarters. It completely disrupted the relaxing morning we had planned. To their credit, the hotel comped our $120 dinner, gave us two valet tickets, and extended our checkout to 2 PM—but none of that made up for the fact that we paid a premium price for a disappointing, uncomfortable stay. When you’re paying over $600 for one night, you expect a certain level of luxury and comfort, and this hotel simply did not deliver.Would not recommend, especially at this price point. 👎

Had a great stay here. Staff was quite pleasant. Very “interesting” rooms shall we say? Not in a negative way, just lots of unique art. Very boutique hotel.

Perfect location, in close proximity to all of the museums. Impeccable service from all of the staff. Everyone was ready to help at all times. Super quick valet. Room service breakfast was fast and amazing! The standard king bed room could have used a larger bathroom. We found ourselves using the toilet lid as additional counter space. There was also an interesting/musty smell in the hall/room. Overall great experience and we will be back!

The location and the service were great but the room I had wasn’t the best. It was slightly outdated but mostly my concerns were lack of hot water when showering and some deferred maintenance.

I stayed for a conference. The front desk staff was rude and inconsiderate. I arrived after driving in the rain and traffic and just wanted a nice space to rest after a long trip. The front desk made it difficult to check in (business card was allergy not working - I later learned this was the case with several other guests). They told me I could not stay there and had poor customer service with no empathy. I have family that works for Hilton - how embarrassing for the hotel and company. Fortunately, I was able to find a compromise with the second person to help me (although he was visibly irritated). Otherwise, the gentlemen at Vallet and the staff in the cafe were incredibly kind and friendly. The front desk manager needs to have a word with her staff, as they were horribly rude.
I was a bit disappointed. My key card didn't work all weekend, despite me going to the front desk multiple times to have it re-keyed. The plug in the bathroom didn't work, so we had to use our hair dryer and styling tools at the desk. The pool felt great, but it was supposed to close at 10pm. People were out there until nearly midnight, so we didn't fall asleep until after then. And there seems to be confusion between the front desk and restaurant staff as to whether or not breakfast is included in your stay. That being said, we enjoyed the pool, all the food was good, and service was great. The event we were there for was fun and hosted well.
