Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort

- 200
- 2 Person
- 11111 N 7th St, Phoenix, AZ, 85020
- 8.0
Perched within the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, this resort takes balcony views to another level. Nearly all accommodations feature private outdoor spaces, from standard rooms to signature suites.
What makes these balconies special? Guest reviews consistently rave about the “spectacular views” across the grounds, particularly from fountain-facing rooms. The One-Bedroom Pool View Suites offer especially desirable vistas, allowing you to soak in both swimming pool scenes and warm Arizona sunshine.
Pro tip: Request a room with a fountain view for the most impressive outlook.
The gym is legitimately only two Peloton bikes, a flat bench and random unpaired dumbbells on the ground…. Inside an old, unused pool bar. It’s worth a visit for sure.
The rooms were pretty beat up, and notable that there were random phone cords everywhere. Like, enough that it’s worth mentioning in a review.
Carpet looked like an animal had its way with it, and TV (cable) didn’t work. Electrical outlets were also hit-or-miss.
I guess my biggest gripe at the end of the day is the resort fee…. It would have been nice to know there was no gym before I booked, OR had a discounted resort fee. I would challenge Hilton to show me any of their ‘resort properties’ that doesn’t have a gym. The other issues just compound that problem.
But, again, nice staff and beautiful property, but I certainly wouldn’t consider it a 4 star hotel.
The only negative thing was that people who were not guest able to go and enjoy one of the more private pools. They were very loud, drinking with super loud music.
Overall it was not a bad experience, we’re not going to let one night ruin our stay. Everybody enjoys their fun. We will definitely visit again
ordered chips salsa and guacamole chefs kiss! The only draw back was the pool being open late and the kids screaming, altought we did visit during spring break. Overall a great stay and happy to know this gem is here for a retreat.
The rooms are a nice size. Definitely feels more like a resort than a hotel.
Above all, the staff are super friendly and helpful. I haven’t passed by anyone yet that hasn’t smiled and greeted me. The bellman was extremely friendly and helpful.
When I arrived at checkin, I discovered I had made an error with my reservation. Brendon (or Brandon) at the front desk went out of his way to fix my mistake, providing exemplary service that was above and beyond what he needed to do. It’s clear the staff here pride themselves in providing great customer service!
Overall a disappointing experience. The main theme I would describe is as a very outdated hotel, that needs a renovation badly.
Parking
People were speeding in the parking lots. Be careful if you have kids in the parking lots.
Customer service
The customer service was ok. Overall I was expecting more for what I paid, you are better off looking into another resort. The highlight were the ladies at the coffee bar, they were excellent.
Pools
The pools were nice, seemed to be well kept, for amenities, this was a highlight due to the amount of pools.
We put drinks and food in our refrigerator to realize 24 hours later it wasn't on. Phone in bedroom didn't work and had time move microwave so it would work in suite 3040.
We had 2 body wash & one conditioner in shower so I called the maid service twice in an hour & nothing. 70 minutes later called front desk and finally got it.
The female waitress at the falls pool our last day (Thursday) was FANTASTIC!
On the otherhand
CHARLOTTE in bar was horrible. Rude, slow and complained about everything. You had to walk up to her from the bar to get a drink or things she forgot. We thought maybe it was a bad day, but Thursday was just as bad! Thank God there were 2 other men that were there. They were FANTASTIC.
Massage i got from the gentleman was WONDERFUL!! But fyi there is an automatic 20% tip.
Morning buffet is great but too expensive.

Marriott Phoenix Airport
- Outdoor swimming pool
- Parking available
- Fitness centre
- 319
- 2 Person
- 1101 N 44th St, Phoenix, AZ, 85008
- 9.2
Convenience meets comfort at this airport-adjacent property. Despite its proximity to travel hubs, the Marriott Phoenix Airport offers surprisingly pleasant balcony experiences.
Their King Guest Room with Balcony and Queen/Queen Balcony Guest Room options provide that coveted outdoor space. Interestingly, while some guests enjoy the airport and highway views (perfect for aviation enthusiasts), others recommend requesting fountain-facing balconies for more scenic vistas.
2 stars because the hotel itself is nice and looks to be redone.
The next morning I had remembered to add my bonvoy number and the front desk person seemed like I bothered her. I had a feeling she didn't even add my number. I looked at my app and it wasn't even on there. No smile. No welcoming atmosphere from the employees. I work in customer service as well as this is a big reminder how NOT to behave.
The bar staff and the bar manager, in particular, displayed an appalling level of hostility and unprofessionalism. We were simply trying to relax and chat with friends about our plans for the day and the games, but were harshly confronted and berated by the bar manager for having an outside beverage. We were made to feel as if we were criminals for just standing in the lobby, trying to have a conversation, all while being told we were not welcome in the bar area.
The manager was aggressive, quick to yell at us, and downright rude. It felt as though she was looking for a confrontation. We were treated like second-class citizens, which is completely unacceptable. I’ve never encountered such a negative atmosphere at any Marriott property before, and it completely soured our stay.
The way we were treated left a lasting negative impression, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I will make sure to share my experience with everyone I know, and we certainly won’t be returning to the Phoenix Airport Marriott in the future.
Absolutely unacceptable.
Service in the lounge area was fantastic. However, the cushions on the seating were very dirty with multiple stains. I was shocked that they were in this condition.
There is a nice gym and an outdoor pool which I didn’t use but I did lay on the sun loungers after morning gym sessions to catch some sun. The gym has plenty of hand towels and also a filtered water station to fill your bottle.
Breakfast is okay, quite overpriced but there’s nothing else close by so I was forced to go with the hotel breakfast. The breakfast staff are hit and miss, some are friendly and some not so much.
The rooms are actually quite comfortable. The bathroom is a good size with a decent size cubicle style shower. The pillows aren’t so great but the mattress is good.
The reception staff are friendly however checkout was a pain, it took 15 minutes to try and get my company address correctly listed on the invoice, by which time I had missed the airport shuttle.
If I get the opportunity for another business trip to Phoenix I will consider this hotel again, the only thing that would make me stay elsewhere is the location. Whilst it’s conveniently next to the airport it’s not close to downtown and I always like to be close to a bit of a vibe with plenty of restaurant options and other things to do.

For those seeking a more artistic, boutique experience, FOUNDRE Phoenix delivers style and substance. Their Deluxe King Balcony and Balcony King Suite options provide urban outdoor spaces with character.
Guests frequently mention “amazing views” and appreciate “sitting on the balcony” with access to fresh air. The hotel’s unique artistic vibe extends to these outdoor spaces, making them perfect for creative inspiration or simply unwinding after exploring downtown Phoenix.
👎🏻 pay to park in parking lot. In room bathroom is not that private. Water from shower gets all over the floor when showering.
Loved everything else.
The train is right there, providing easy access to Phoenix. The staff was friendly and welcoming! The hotel is right next to a huge part with a Japanese garden and walking trails, as well ads the Irish Cultural Center and McClelland Library. It is pet friendly!
I booked this hotel because I liked the way the bathroom looked on the photos. I thought, Found Re with their shower and decor would be great to experience and see.
I feel the front desk's first impression go hand in hand with the great atmosphere. My visit was like meeting a beautiful person with a crappy personality or a perfect apple with a worm inside.
I was checking in and asked about adding breakfast because that was mentioned on the booking page. The girl said I booked on Expedia or Hotels.com (with a tone like my booking is less important if I had used these sites) and she can't see my reservation.
To clarify, not that I need to, I didn't use either of those sites, but we do use a company because we book hundreds of reservations nationwide yearly for our employees and we get a special rate. Does it really matter? Evidently to this girl it did.
She mentioned coming to the desk for water if I wanted some and I asked if I can get one now. She said they're in your room, again with the condescending tone. I guess I didn't understand.
Maybe I'm tired, maybe I'm hungry, maybe employees of this beautiful hotel should treat every customer as if they are important regardless how it was booked. I may not have booked through expedia nor hotels.com, but if I did, I wouldn't want to be treated like I'm less important.
I may book this place again in a future visit as I do come back to this city a few times a year. If I do, I sure hope the welcome matches what's expected from this hotel. Will update with room photos later.
* Never booking here again. See update on top. Broken heater, phone and no hot water.
Staff at the front desk are very cool and chill.
This is not a stuffy corporate chain hotel. There are lots of fun quirks and touches in the rooms and main areas. And a lot of art on the walls.
Location is at the edge of downtown, so pretty quiet compared to the downtown buzz. Valet is only available on the weekends.
We got room 813. I big king suite. A nice set up, with a masculine, industrial feel.
The sofa in the sitting living room area was pretty torn up. I’m surprised it was not replace.
Both the breakfast and dinner was very bland. No salt, no spices. We ended up going elsewhere for dinner every night.
Monroe Hotel With Balcony in Phoenix

- West Monroe Street, Phoenix
- 9.0
A word of caution about the Monroe Hotel With Balcony in Phoenix. Despite its promising name, this property has a documented history of balcony problems. Multiple sources spanning several years report persistent issues with balcony inaccessibility due to safety concerns and ongoing legal disputes.
Reddit discussions and apartment review sites consistently mention locked patio doors and unusable balconies. While the potential for city views exists, the likelihood of actually enjoying your balcony appears questionable at best.

Operating on an aparthotel model, Sentral Alloy Midtown offers balconies or patios in most of its units. These apartment-style accommodations provide a more residential feel for longer stays.
Guest experiences vary more widely here, with some mentioning less desirable views of parking structures or construction areas. However, the spaciousness of these outdoor areas complements the apartment-style units well.
Friendly, helpful, warm, and welcoming. I had an issue with my garbage disposal and my issue was resolved by Zack in no time.
I LOVE THE STAFF!! Most apartments or leasing agents usually are not accommodating or nice. Lauren and every other woman I’ve encountered here has been insanely helpful and sweet. From Lauren getting me water and understanding my needs with a service dog to the girl last night at check in walking me to the unit and giving free water with the stay, I’m extremely satisfied. I booked another night too. The apartments are clean and big! The balconies are spacious and you have a view. Definitely recommend
You use the same pass code for the public areas. The code in your email is only for the front door to your unit.
The room is completely set up for a long-term stay. I liked it. It was comfortable. I liked that the HVAC in the bedroom is separate from the rest of the unit. It is possible for you to hear the neighbors (tenants and other hotel guests), but the layout helps out. I had a corner unit and could only hear the neighbor in the middle of the day when I was in the living room. I could not hear anything when I was in the bedroom.

Breakfast buffet included, happy hour at 5: 30pm to 7: 30pm includes decent food, 3 drinks, and the staff is so friendly! I will definitely come back here if I'm ever back in PHX! If you're looking for a hotel for a decent price, look no more! This is the perfect spot! Pool and Jacuzzi looks nice, I didn't have time to use it since I have better things to do! But I highly recommend this place, everyone is so friendly it gives me good vibes! Thanks to everyone!
Overall rooms and washrooms are quite spacious with good amenities such as press, big TV, Microwave, coffee. Our room was nice and clean and we were really comfortable.
There is a small pantry where you can purchase water, chips, and some frozen food.
They also provide free shuttle to Phoenix Airport, its a very helpful service
They were also kind to adjust my booking from happy valley to airport location even though I messed up while booking.
You will NOT be disappointed!
And IF you encounter a problem - it was you! The staff here were that good!
Alrighty now their toilet paper is the most cheap, rough, thin nonsense I have ever wiped with. Like c'mon I am not expecting ultra soft and plush but I have standards. You can hear everything going on in the rooms next to you so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Even though they have a microwave, apparently they did not have any microwavable dishes for me to use to reheat food when I asked the front desk. The air conditioner is extremely loud and the thermostat was dysfunctional.
Outdoor pool and jacuzzi were available but no one was in it, very small gym. Breakfast is mid. Fake eggs, defrosted floppy sausage, clumpy oatmeal, hard biscuits, stale muffins, waffle maker and no bacon. I just went with a banana. I came here for business travel but would not book this hotel again.
If you need to rest before or after a flight, this is the place to stay.
Free hot breakfast and dinner. Meal tables were clean and promptly stocked. Bonus! 3 free kickback drinks per person. Room was clean and orderly. 2 elevators with glass wall views. PCs were available for guest use. Would absolutely stay here again.
I appreciate Bianca and the housekeeping team for helping me remedy a lost item.

Thank you Hilton staff!
What truly stood out was the exceptional service. I somehow lost my passport at the hotel, and the amazing staff, along with the manager, went above and beyond to help me find it and promptly return it to me. I was so relieved and impressed by their quick action and kindness.
Even during the busy spring training season, the hotel maintained excellent service and comfort. An amazing place to stay—I highly recommend it!
Edit: 1 day after posting this review, $3 credit appeared on my CC statement. Thanks, Hilton
The room was huge, clean and so nice, it had a great view of the pool. Bed was so comfortable and the room was quiet. I highly recommend!!
