The location, warm welcome upon arrival, HOUSEKEEPING, the spa, valet service, and the spacious suite were all as expected from an Amex-selected luxury hotel. However, a couple of points could be improved. With the premium pricing at the on-site restaurant for a small bowl of fruit—it's reasonable to expect fresh, not pre-cut or soggy fruit every time. Also, as a guest you MUST tell the hostess that you are staying in the hotel, otherwise for the comfort of the servers she will not give you a table outside on terrace of the restaurant because it is by far faster for servers to close at the end of the night. I'm guessing that someone must have instructed her to apply this rule.

Mokara Hotel exceeded all our expectations! Beautifully located on the River Walk, the hotel offers luxurious, spotless rooms and an unbeatable atmosphere. The staff made our stay unforgettable. Kim Huynh, the Food and Beverage Manager, was incredibly attentive, checking on us at the rooftop pool and restaurant. She even gave me a signed birthday card from her and the team—such a thoughtful surprise! At checkout, when we had car trouble, the General Manager Mickey personally helped jump-start our car, walking several blocks to assist us. This level of hospitality is rare and appreciated. This is the best hotel experience we’ve ever had. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

This is a really great hidden gem in a sea of hotels on the riverwalk. The rooftop pool is amazing! Our kids enjoyed swimming and we enjoyed a full bar and resort style loungers complete with cool towels and umbrellas. Asia at the pool was so nice and she made some tasty craft cocktails! Edward, valet, was very welcoming and made our arrival and exit a breeze! We ate breakfast in the river level restaurant and it was very good. The views at breakfast were great because we were right on the river but tucked away under trees so it was still not overly hot.

It was located downtown, where it felt truly alive. There is a lot of buzz. Great atmosphere and the staff very nice, friendly and super helpful. Love visiting San Antonio because it's full of history and, of course. Mokara Hotel does not disappoint. With its own great history, location, and beauty, it made my stay all the worthwhile.

This hotel is exquisite. The lobby is nicely appointed with some interesting architectural elements. The rooms had high ceilings and were voluminous. The service was top-notch. Everyone greeted me and were outwardly pleasant and professional. The bellmen were eager to help and give directions to places, the front desk made recommendations, and the housekeeping service were very professional. In fact, I had an issue with my iron. When housekeeping brought me a new iron, she mentioned it may still be warm, which indicated to me that she tested it to ensure I would not be brought a faulty replacement - thoughtful and professional. The location opens up to Crockett, which gives access to downtown. There is an elevator down to the river, which is convenient. The hotel makes extensive use of keycard tech, which made me feel safe. It was also very quiet in the evening despite the chaos down on the river level. If I return to SA, I will be staying here again.

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent service that goes above and beyond on every level. We were treated like royalty and being right on the Riverwalk creates a very relaxing atmosphere. Make sure you get a room that overlooks the river.

I’ve stayed at a few fine hotels and resorts and when I say this stay was absolutely superior I’m not exaggerating. The spa was soothing and exactly what I was hoping it would be. All the staff were absolutely lovely and accommodating, everyone I spoke to that was staff knew it was my birthday and wished me well. I cannot speak highly enough of this property and everyone who works there to help run the facilities flawlessly.

My boyfriend and I decided on a couples spa day to celebrate the new year and a friend recommended this one. It was my first massage ever, and my massage therapist, Jesse made it absolutely perfect. We didn't get to enjoy all the other amenities as we had a packed schedule, but it is truly a great spot with a lot of really sweet staff who obviously care about the clientele. Thanks for a great first spa!

The hotel, staff, and location is amazing. The spa service is a nice touch. My only complaint, the top floor outside the elevator and in the tiny cafe had a horrible stench. The room was spacious and well organized. They have thought of a fir bit of little touches like fruit in the room which makes for a positive difference. The bed is VERY comfortable. The breakfast credit in my opinion is not worth it because the food is not fresh. It’s like an upscale Denny’s quality food experience with pleasant service. The lunch and dinner at their restaurant is good.

1. No bottled water in rooms, first place I stayed where you have to pay 4 dollars for a bottle of water. You should at least put a few bottles in the room at check in or make them much cheaper, maybe 1 dollar a bottle.2. Paid the exorbitant 40 dollars a night for parking, went to dinner, parking garage full upon return, had to find a different parking garage down the street, which is cheaper.3. Unrequested automated wake up calls every morning at 5:30. Come on man...DO BETTER4.Noisy kids in hallways way too early.5, On check out morning, housekeeping keep coming in room and waking us up. Why would they come in before we checked out. DO BETTER

Very nice hotel. Elevator conveniently takes you directly to the river walk. Room was spacious and had a large television. Friendly service. Will be back for my next San Antonio visit. They do however need more help in Valet. Waited a while Saturday night.

Room was not ready when told it was. Given a room had to change as there was no safe in the room. Finally got a room near 5:00PM. Not very clean. Dirty dusty floor. Dirty sink and shower. Toilet seat was loose almost fell off toilet. AC not cooling below 69. I don’t think I’ll come back to this Holiday Inn. Personnel were stand offish somewhat rude and i different to requests. I should have stayed next door at the Embassy Suites. They have a pool. One and done, never again.

We stayed for a few nights and had a fantastic time enjoying the River Walk. The area was clean, lively, and full of things to do. We happened to be there during Fiesta Night and loved watching the beautifully decorated boats from along the river. When our kids got tired, we simply went back to the hotel—where we could continue enjoying the view from our balcony. The location is unbeatable. We also really appreciated the hotel’s complimentary happy hour. The staff running it were courteous and professional, and the snacks were a great touch. Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with a great variety of options.I highly recommend this hotel—first for its prime location, and second for its thoughtful amenities.

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the hotel. We had a great experience. Breakfast was good, our room was clean and spacious and the view was great. The front desk individual (Snow) was very helpful and friendly and clearly loved her job. The location was perfect not right on the main attractions, but only a five minute walk. We would definitely stay there again. I want to thank Snow for her helpfulness and recommendations while we were there she definitely made our stay more enjoyable. I also wanted to mention we were able to check in early at 1:00 which was very convenient for us.
Could easily get a four star if the room insulated very well that i don’t hear people next door talking. Other than that, not a bad place to stay. If the price is good, go for it! otherwise I don’t know man.

Stayed here for business. The room was clean and quiet. Direct access to the riverwalk was nice. The hotel restaurant has a breakfast buffet and a breakfast menu. There is a parking garage on site, but it costs $39 self park, $49 valet. Very good experience.

This is a good value hotel. The fixtures and decor are dated. But the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a free hot breakfast For the price, it's better than average. Upon check-in they required a $696 deposit on my credit card, for a confirmed room reservation of $196. They never mentioned that fee when I made my reservations. And when I checked in, the lady at the front desk was clueless about the deposit fee. She couldn't tell me what it was for, or when it would be refunded. She couldn't even confirm the quoted amount for my room stay. She also was not familiar with the downtown area and could not answer any questions about what was within walking distance. The lady who was working the breakfast station in the morning was very polite and cleaned tables very rapidly.

Oh where do I start. First room we had chair smelled bad like pee and lifted the cushion to find well I attached the picture below, bed was broken and when we moved it to investigate if we could make it work a cockroach came scurrying out…needless to say we left that room ASAP. Went to the front desk immediately. I wanted to leave but my husband didn’t and just asked for a new room. We told the front desk what was going on and she was so apologetic and kind and assured us they would take care of it. She made us feel like it was for sure an isolated incident which made me feel like this new room would be better. We got up to our new room and I am happy to report after moving pretty much everything and looking under everything we haven’t found any bugs…but what we did find was a broken toilet (works but takes forever to stop running like 15 mins and then leaks/runs the whole time), balcony slider takes some muscle to open and I mean you have to put your hips into it to open and it doesn’t lock which we don’t like, room was not clean to the point I cleaned the headboard (pictures of rag I used attached), hair left on the outlet plug of the bathroom along with hair on the toilet. After I basically cleaned the hotel room we went to sleep. I was not comfortable using the in room coffee maker because based on the cleanliness of the room I’m sure that thing has never been cleaned I decided to go down to the lobby to get coffee only to find out they charge you for the coffee. I will say the view from the balcony is beautiful and the bed was comfortable but I definitely wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. I feel like they are trying to be a high end hotel but lack the ability to do so.

Stayed recently with family. First the good. Great location on the Riverwalk and close to many points of interest and restaurants. Rooms are nicely decorated and decent size, taller ceiling added to a loft like feel. Staff was polite, professional and very helpful. On site restaurant was a safe choice among many options on Riverwalk. The bad was as follows. Room was dirty. The concrete floors and area rugs were stained and there was dust build up in the corners. This part of the room looked like it had been weeks or months since it had last been cleaned. There was no microwave and shower had a strange overhead shower and handheld option. Took a couple of tries to get a hang of and stop both from working at once. Hotel parking a bit pricy and is valet only. In fairness, the same public parking garages the valets use are only about $15 less per night.Overall, good hotel but they need to work on cleaning!

We really enjoyed our stay when we were here for our anniversary. Location is fantastic. Walking distance from the Alamo, the mall, and lots of great dining options. The restaurant on site, as well as the bars, have delicious foods but just know you're paying a lot for a little, even though it tastes great (like $15 for 3 flautas). We paid a little extra to have a Riverwalk view for our room but we ended up being just about the top floor so we couldn't even see the river from our room, even if we pressed our face on the glass. That was the only annoyance but next time we'll just call and request a lower level, no big deal.We really enjoyed the stay for the weekend we were there. Staff was extremely nice, valet took great care of our car, location is excellent, room was spacious and clean, we enjoyed our anniversary for sure. Definitely recommend this hotel.

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful hotel for our first trip ever to San Antonio. One cannot beat the proximity to the Riverwalk and all that San Antonio has to offer. The Riverwalk is right downstairs, and it is 0.3 miles from the Alamo! The rooms are spacious and have a fun contemporary vibe. This is a dog friendly hotel, and we loved that our two small dogs could join us. The rooms are also very soundproof! Fewer unknown noises to concern our pups!Rooms were very clean upon arrival! And I loved the shower design. But what really makes this place stand out is the staff! EVERY SINGLE employee that we interacted with was pleasant and seemed genuinely happy that we chose to stay there.Parking tip: Valet is $65 a night, but there is a self park garage across the street for $40 a night!

All good, very good. The front desk staff is amazing and especially Jessica is a gem. Jessica made our stay at the Canopy San Antonio Riverwalk so easy! She helped us book tickets on the boat cruise, checking into our rooms was a breeze, getting our room balance and checking out was perfect. I can not say enough about this beautiful person. The lobby is stunning, location great and restaurant very accommodating. The rooms were very nice, a little more river view than we even expected, clean and plenty of supplies. I would only remark that the down comforters are due for exchanging. They are getting a bit worn and clumpy. We would gladly stay here again.

My wife and I spent three nights at this property recently while visiting San Antonio.  The check-in didn't start out well as our room wasn't ready even though we checked in at 4 vs the 3 check in time.  As compensation for our inconvenience they gave us four free tickets for drinks at their bar.  However, it turned out that the room became available as we discussed where the bar was located.  I offered the free drink coupons back, but they insisted we keep them.  I did feel the lobby was a little crowded compared to other Hilton properties, but it was never a problem. Our room was comfortable and clean with plenty of hot water and water pressure for the shower.  The restaurant on site is good and worth a visit.  The location of the hotel is quite good as it is near the Riverwalk and in the better area of town.  To a person the staff here, including Hiro and Jessica, were outstanding.  This was the first time we stayed in a Canopy Hotel and I honestly was not a fan of the decor, but that is a personal statement and not a criticism of how it was decorated.  The one thing that was actually annoying was there was no sundry room to quickly grab a soda and snack and there really aren't other options nearby.  The gym was one of the nicer I have enjoyed in the last year.  I would say that based on the location, service and price this is a good selection for staying on the Riverwalk and I can recommend it with confidence.

Here's a tour of Room 1510 at the Canopy by Hilton in San Antonio! This is a double queen bed room that accommodates up to four guests. The amenities include a Nespresso coffee machine, a chilled drawer, streaming services, complimentary access to Canopy bikes, and more! We loved the hotel's proximity to the Riverwalk. Although this room isn't advertised as having a Riverwalk view, we were still able to catch a glimpse, as shown in the video. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was spacious. The staff provided excellent service. We were greeted with complimentary beverages at check-in. There's a bar and restaurant on-site. The only downside for us was the absence of a pool. Overall, we rate this hotel a 9 out of 10. One drawback is the parking fee of $65 per night, but that’s typical for downtown San Antonio. Tip: park at the Houston Street garage for $10 per night.

The Canopy by Hilton has a gorgeous location—absolutely breathtaking and so much fun! The hotel itself is amazing, with modern rooms that offer a comfortable stay. However, there were a few issues with cleanliness. The water glasses in the room were dirty, and unfortunately, the sheets had black stains on them when held up to the light. The top and bottom sheets were fine, but the one in the middle definitely needed attention. Despite these issues, the overall experience was still great due to the stunning location and the overall vibe of the hotel.

This is by far my favorite place to stay in San Antonio. One of my favorite hotels ever. This last trip for Cattleman’s Convention was excellent. Jessica at the front desk was outstanding and the customer service I received is better and better every time I’ve been. Clean, contemporary rooms, phenomenal service. I will absolutely choose this hotel every time I come to town. Tokyo Cowboy and The Esquire next door are awesome as well.

Peaceful lovely section of Riverwalk connecting the Pearl area with the SAMA ( San Antonio Museum of Art ) and continuing down to the locks on Lexington Ave. Get in a mile ( or 2 round trip ) of walking or running. Lots of SA art and architecture to look at along the way, not to mention placesto stop and eat or get a drink, and a dog park as well ! Much calmer than the downtown tourist area of the Riverwalk.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary this past weekend at this beautiful hotel and we were impressed with the amazing customer service we received. The hotel itself is historic, but very well maintained and clean. Our room was spacious and comfortable. I highly recommend booking a room with a private balcony, the view is beautiful! We had some drinks and appetizers at their restaurant, Four brothers, the service there was amazing too! The bartenders made some great drinks and the food was delicious! The entire staff was friendly. Especially Bryan, he made sure we enjoyed our stay and was very attentive! Definitely booking another stay!

First and foremost, one of the friendliest staffs I’ve encountered at any hotel. From the front desk to the valet to the barista, every single staff member seemed genuinely happy to help us. Location was absolutely perfect. Was so easy to do everything we wanted to do. I loved the added safety of having to scan your key to get back in too.Room with the private balcony was absolutely the way to go. I wish we had one above the waterfall, but that’s just personal preference. Initially I was upset because we were behind a tree but it ended up being the perfect room and you could still see so much of the river. The history behind the hotel is cool too. Didn’t know it was a major point on the boat tour!Next time anyone I know is going to San Antonio, I’m recommending this hotel 10/10 times

Had a great experience! We stayed in a room with a private balcony overlooking the river and the view was lovely (picture below). Location can't be beat - Just walk downstairs and you're right on the riverwalk by the Selena Bridge. Room itself was clean and spacious. We did go during the week, so can't attest to a busy weekend, but everything was quiet and valet service was quick. Entirety of staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Love the coffee bar next to lobby. Overall would absolutely recommend, especially the rooms facing the river!

I stayed at Omni La Mansión del Rio in San Antonio for a week during a work event in March 2025, and it was a fantastic experience. The weather was perfect that time of year, which made everything even more enjoyable. The hotel itself is beautiful—rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bar on the ground floor was a great spot to unwind after a long day, with a classy vibe and excellent service. One of the highlights was the location—right along the San Antonio River Walk. We’d take evening walks with colleagues, exploring the area and checking out different restaurants and spots along the river every night. It made the trip feel like a perfect mix of work and relaxation. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting San Antonio!

We so enjoyed our stay. It was a short anniversary trip. Entering the lobby immediately feels serene. It is nice and cool and has an old world Spanish feel. It smells amazing! They have different daily fruit agua frescas that are so refreshing when youve just come in from the heat of San Antonio. When they realized it was anniversary trip they immediately asked if we drank and/or enjoyed sweets. When we responded yes they said they would send something up to help us celebrate. When we arrived in the room it too was fresh and clean. We had a lovely view of the Riverwalk and enjoyed sitting on our balcony, people watching. There is an onsite restaurant and bar. We did not dine in but viaited the bar for a cocktail and morning coffees. Both were excellent. All of the staff were great but especially Armando. He was so friendly and energetic! Can't wait for our next visit!!!

La mansion is the best lodging on the Riverwalk. The rooms are superb. The balconies facing the river walk are perfect for people watching, and relaxing with wine in the evening. Room service is very prompt. The restaurants in the area are perfectly acceptable, it’s a great location, and the Riverwalk is the best part of San Antonio! We will always go back again and again.

5-Star Review for Omni La Mansion del Rio⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Our stay at Omni La Mansion del Rio was incredible! The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with rustic beams and brick walls that gave it so much character. The bed was super comfortable, and the seating area was perfect for relaxing. The location right on the River Walk couldn’t have been better; everything was just steps away, yet the hotel was quiet and peaceful. If you’re visiting San Antonio, this is the perfect place to stay. Had dinner last night at the restaurant in the Omni and the food was excellent. But I need to recognize our waiter, Braham. He was exceptionally good. I don't think we have ever gotten that level of service at any fine dining restaurant. He definitely made our evening a special night. Thank you so very much.

We had a company conference at this downtown location and it was the perfect city, town, hotel. Right on the river walk with perfect distance to bars & restaurants. Great hotel customer service found throughout from the valet outside to the maids to the front desk customer service individuals. So very impressed after having approx 100 of our company employees stay here for 4 days. The conference center was perfect with many side rooms as well for individual meetings. Again I can’t stress enough how good the staff was to our group. Many thanks, we will be back one day!

Hotel management hides behinds employees and don't own up to mistakes. I stayed on business for a week and was over charged $162.39. I called directly and nicely asked to have this fixed on 4 different days. Promises of the manager calling me, as they would be the only person that can fix the transaction, were never followed through with. I have since opened a case with the Hilton corporate and dealt with them twice now. They merely call the hotel and I get the same excuses. No one at Hilton seems to value customers and once checked out they want nothing to do with you. That is fine. I am closing my Hilton Rewards account and credit card. I will go somewhere else where customers and the word of the business actually mean something.

Staff was great! Hotel was very dated and rundown. We were there for 4 nights and 2 of the 3 elevators did not work the whole time. The one that did work only went up to the 4th floor one day, so we had to take the stairs the remaining 4 floors. Was happy I was on 8 and not 12! The door from the lobby was broken the last 3 days we were there and still when we left. The refrigerator barely worked and was dripping everywhere. We would not stay here again!

The location of this hotel was perfect. This property is dual brand and we stayed with Hampton Inn. Everything was fine with our stay except the breakfast was very disappointing. They use foam plates which was shocking to me! The attendant was working hard to refill hot food but not fast enough and people had to wait 10+ minutes. It wasn't super busy either. The quality of food is also disgusting. I stayed with many Hilton hotels but breakfast here was the worst amongst all! Management should look into improving the breakfast products.

The suite exceeded our expectations, offering ample space and a lovely Riverwalk view, within proximity to downtown attractions. The hospitality displayed through our continuous stay is just superb. Both the staff and guests were friendly and courteous. For travelers seeking a hotel near the Riverwalk, dining options, and downtown, this is a great recommendation. We strongly suggest reserving a room at this hotel.💪💯🧡

Here’s an improved version of the review:The location of this property is excellent, and the included breakfast exceeded our expectations—it was a pleasant surprise. However, as a Gold member, I was disappointed to be informed that while our room was ready, we’d need to pay an additional $40 to access it just two hours earlier. We also used the onsite laundry facilities, carefully selecting delicate settings, yet all our clothing shrank significantly—an extremely frustrating issue to deal with in the middle of a trip. When we raised this with reception, we understood there wasn’t much they could do after the fact, but their lack of empathy and unwillingness to update or warn future guests about the laundry settings felt dismissive and unhelpful. While the stay had its positives, the handling of these issues left us feeling undervalued as guests.

This was an amazing property, I travel for work and stay and multiple Home2 Suites around the country. The check in was amazing, the front staff was very friendly and helpful. The check in process was great and the room was amazing, the view of the river walk was beautiful with steps to the river walk. The valet parking staff was very nice and helpful, they had no issues help us out when we kept forgetting things in the car so the staff was able to quickly grab the items and made staying here worth the price. If you’re looking for a safe place with an amazing view then this is definitely the place you would like to stay!!!As a Hilton diamond member, I could personally recommend this property!!!

Hotel is OK, rooms are OK, ours would really need some maintenance but it was clean and spacious. Breakfast was OK, there was a guy helping with plates that was phenomenal, awesome service from him, the rest OK at best, the lobby person did not even look at us, valet was OK. So in summary, good hotel, clean and convenient, is it the best? absolutely not but it delivers at a good price, keep in mind this hotel is on the "not fun" part of the riverwalk, which is good if you come with kids.

I was here for one night for a conference. Good location right on the Riverwalk and within walking distance to lots of attractions, shops, and restaurants. The room was great, very spacious, modern, and comfortable. Loved the pillows. The water pressure in the shower was great. Fast elevators. Breakfast was nice (eggs, breads, waffles, oatmeal with toppings, and fruit). I didn't need anything during my stay, but at check-in Alicia at the front desk was fabulous!

First off I am a Hilton member. The hotel is pretty the service from front desk to the parking. My issue is $55 for valet parking, our room had no fridge (working) no microwave it was super hot in the room at night and this is our second time staying here. Both times the pool was not able to be used. I saw a review from 2 weeks ago and the pool was not available then. For them to be considered a top tier hotel this was definitely not it. Then on top of that all the money spent you have to pay for breakfast. We won't be staying here again. The view is nice

Hotel staff and rooms was awesome, only downside is valet staff! Valet staff are extremely rude and oblivious to their surroundings. We check out this morning, we parked at a nearby parking garage for a lower cost. As I pulled into the drive-through aisle valet staff were yelling at me to pull thru yet there were 4 children On the opposite side of them coming out of an SUV in the roadway, To include the car on my left with its doors open. Before they yell at guests please ensure it safe to proceed, if something was to have happened to the pedestrian or parked vehicles I’m sure valet staff would have not accepted responsibility!

Edit: i shouldn't have finished the review before our stay ended. Several issues, we paid for the breakfast as part of the night. Front desk failed to recognize and give our ticket. We had to return to resolve. The 1st night in our remodeled room the shower had no hot water. Props to the maintenance guy coming up at 11pm and quickly figuring out they had t replaced the valve as part of the remodel. But, that meant no hot water for our stay. My wife and I got into what the maintenance guy referred to as "Luke warm" at 88F. If its below body temp its not like warm. It should go body temp, then tepid, then Luke warm and then varying degrees of hot ending in scalding. The next morning the toilet ceased flushing. There's an issue with the float valve but I wasn't going to take it apart to fix it.The last issue the morning we left she was stuck in the elevator as the panel wasn't accepting inputs. Thankfully this only lasted a few minutes.Four negative marks for a 1 night stay. Not great. Front desk comped our valet and gave us points.OG review:Right on the River with great access, we were on the 10th floor. So cleanly remodeled the hallway carpet was still off gassing. Thankfully the room didn't have the same aroma.Street noise is a little high, but just run some white noise and you'll be fine.

The view from our room was spectacular, especially at night. Really liked the easy access to the River walk. One of your employees named Ernest, went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. He even took the time to tell us where the best views to the River walk were. Excellent customer service. I would definitely stay here again!

Giving this hotel a 2 star review for the following reasons:1. The noise level is horrendous. From the minute we checked in, we had to ask for a different room because they were doing construction directly beside the room they gave us inside the hotel. We moved to the new room and outside the window was more construction on a new building. This of course is not within the hotel’s control, but still a factor when booking this hotel. The street noise is SO loud. Street racing, loud trucks. This is not the right hotel for rest.2. We opened the balcony door to enjoy the view and fresh air and once the breeze kicked up, we were covered in these paint chips. See picture.3. We couldn’t get a hot shower any of the days that we stayed there and the best we could get was maybe lukewarm. The staff was really kind and helpful, the access to the Riverwalk was really convenient. And the hotel itself was nice.Recommendation to Hilton: provide information to your guests about current construction circumstances prior to booking.

Our room had an issue that is completely out of control of the hotel management/staff but they quickly took care of the situation and made things right plus a bit more. It is our wedding anniversary so they did something special for us upon resolving our room situation. We must remember that a hotel caters too so many people daily so when they offer such a beautiful gesture you can’t help but give them praise. We will be returning to stay with them in October and can’t wait to tell family and friends about our stay. *If the reviews about construction and noise keep you from booking remember that the entire area is under construction and being on the Riverwalk can be noisy, just part of the area, so don’t let this keep you away from this well managed hotel.

There is construction, yes, but I believe that is out of the hotel's hands. I am sure they would not want the hassle and noise either. There is loud music right next door which ended at 10 or 11 at night. My issue was with the expensive room. I stayed in room 715. No A/C the first night. I called the front desk at 3am. because I simply couldn't sleep. Maintenance came right up and fixed the issue. When I returned later in the day, the smell in the room was rancid. It smelled like rotting meat. I thought I was being critical, especially after being upset about the A/C, so I went to a housekeeper for air freshener. She came to the room, took 2 steps into the room, and told me there was no way I could stay there. She called the front desk and got me moved into a new room. The new room was better, but this was not a pleasant stay at all.

Great place to stay downtown. Yes construction is still ongoing, Yes it's Valet only, Yes hotel was built in 1968. But that doesn't take away from the experience here. After walking in through the doors some of these reviews go out the window.E.Santana was awesome and helped make our stay great.-Hotel room was clean and beds are comfy.-Short walk to some iconic places on the River Walk. -Great bar& Restaurant options attached to the property.-Go Rio boat cruise picks up across the River from the hotel doors.

The location of this hotel is phenomenal but our experience there left much to be desired. Construction is going on at the hotel front which affects valet and the entrance. You couldn’t call down for valet from your room, had to walk to the stand if you needed your car and proceed to wait up to 30-45 minutes to get it. I understand construction occurs but the least they could do is significantly reduce the valet fee from $55 since the same conveniences are not available. Our room was nice in that we had a balcony overlooking the riverwalk but the air conditioner completely stopped cooling on the last night leading to a very uncomfortable night stuck at 79 degrees. Which we informed the front desk about at checkout the next morning and the response was “oh strange”.This hotel has a lot of potential but, was one of the least pleasant Hilton stays we’ve had. Focus is definitely on location not on customer service.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel for a conference at the convention center very closed by. It was a pleasure getting there through the river walk that you can access directly from the elevator. The room was super clean, a comfortable bed and a nice view on the river walk side. It was a bit noisy on Saturday night (concert, people screaming, noisy cars or motorbikes), but not much troubled on the other days. The breakfast buffet was good. I also tried the pizzeria: it was good and not expensive. The hotel staff was kind and professional at any level.Only negative point was the very small fitness room, it was getting already crowded at 6am.

My husband and I visited San Antonio for a family trip with our 2 small children and 2 young nieces. We stayed for 1 night at this location and were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. Initially everything looked clean, however our son dropped a toy under the beside table and when I went to grab it, my arm slide across the carpet on something gooey/wet, upon shining a flashlight on the area, we realized it was a small pile of vomit from a previous guest. We were very upset and notified front desk. I would like to note that the lady at the front was extremely apologetic and kind and offered us a new room, for this I am giving 4 stars for “service”. However that does not change the fact that this was unacceptable. Our room was not comped or discounted, we were instead offered Marriott points. It was very late at night at this point and we had all of our luggage unpacked and kids almost down for the night. Since it was the only night we were staying, we declined the offer to move and just threw towels over the area until were could check out the next morning.I do appreciate the attempt from management to rectify the situation, however, we also stayed at another San Antonio Springhill location (Airport location) two nights later on our trip, in which we found a used condom and unknown medication on our carpet. With these both being SpringHill locations and such unbelievable issues in sanitization/cleanliness, I have to believe these were not just rare situations. Our small children could have come in contact with 2 different bodily fluids amongst this trip as well as risk of ingesting the pill found on our carpet. I do believe this needs to be addressed by Marriott.

We had booked here with booking.com. We had a change of plans as the kids had a sporting event that we could not miss. We called booking.com to see if we could cancel. They were amazing. Not realizing we had booked a non cancelation reservation, they had no issue canceling. All they asked was to contact hotel and for the hotel to email them. After many calls, emails with no response from the Manager Booking.com refunded our stay without any contact from the manager. After reading the terrible reviews, I believe it was a blessing in disguise. We have been loyal members of the Marriott but, this property and lack of professionalism doesn't equate to the Marriott standard. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere. Signed a very frustrated loyal customer.

Location Location! Springhill is just minutes away from the marketplace and the river walk. It has a small swimming pool. But their breakfast is very good. They had an omelet with good flavor. You can make your own waffles, but they have mini waffles already made, and they were very good. If I come back to San Antonio, I will definitely stay here.

We stayed one night for the Rodeo. The room was perfect to share with my parents and husband. The separate living area with an additional TV was an awesome setup. We had a place to relax and not have to sit on the beds to watch TV. Location was perfect with easy access in and out.

The person working the desk is the rudest I have ever encountered at a hotel. I asked for an extra pillow and he chastised me about how they don’t have anymore. I booked a room for 6 people there are only pillows for 4. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Toilet hardly flushed. Had to flush it multiple times times just for the bowl to empty. Don’t say stay here, it’s a horrible hotel.

The good - LocationThe bad - details belowI recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, it was an extremely frustrating experience. As a Platinum member, I expect a certain level of service, but this stay was far from what I anticipated.First, there were no drinking water bottles in the room—something that should be standard, especially for loyal guests. To make matters worse, the staff didn’t even acknowledge my Platinum status, which left me feeling completely overlooked. The main issue, however, was with the bathroom. The drain was clogged, making it nearly impossible to take a shower. When I reported the issue, I was initially told that no one was available to fix it. Cat at the front desk offered to move us to another room to shower. After a while, she called back, first directing us to Room 330, and then, moments later, saying someone would come to fix the drain. However, the drain fix didn’t work—water still wouldn’t drain properly, and we had to stand in dirty, stagnant water.I called the front desk again to inform them the problem wasn’t resolved, and Cat responded that there was nothing more she could do. Instead, she offered me points as compensation. When I explained that points wouldn’t help me shower, she abruptly hung up on me. This level of service was shocking. What's worse, I never received any points as promised.Frustrated, I went to speak with the manager directly. Initially, he claimed the hotel was fully booked, but when I mentioned Cat’s offer to move us to another room, he admitted that was a mistake. Only after realizing the seriousness of the situation did he offer us access to another bathroom. However, no one showed up to help us with this arrangement. I saw a staff member unlocking Room 330 next door, but he didn’t speak English and couldn’t assist me. Eventually, I had to speak to Cat again through the staff member’s personal cell phone. All in all, I wasted nearly two hours of my time just trying to get a shower in the hotel. Both Cat and the manager lacked basic professionalism, and it’s hard to understand how they’re still employed at this hotel. As a Platinum member, I expect much better treatment. If this is how they treat their loyal customers, I can only imagine how they treat others.

If you plan on staying at this hotel, please reconsider. We made our reservation weeks in advance. I checked-in using the Marriott mobile app hours before out arrival. Upon arrival, we were told their rooms that were available had no heat. This was the weekend we were having the freeze/snow. The receptionist found a room that was a king-room which we agreed to take even though we reserved for 2 Queen sized beds. We went to the room only to be moved to another room because the lock did not work! The room we were in was clean but you can hear all the noises in the hallway even early in the morning when occupants were walking and entering their rooms past 2AM. It was also difficult to sleep because you can hear the wind outside the window as if you are out there in the midst of the weather. We requested for an additional towel and blanket since this was meant for only 2 people. You would have to obtain these on the first floor. Even when we requested for these, they were not ready when we tried to have them from the first floor.Breakfast was limited. People ate in a small confined and packed area.If I can give this hotel a zero, I would have.Don't be deceived by its information of being newly renovated. The condition of this hotel is very poor.

I had a terrible experience during my stay at this Marriott hotel. I checked in for one night on December 22, 2024, using my points for the reservation, and it felt like a complete waste of those points. At check-in, the male front desk employee was unhelpful when I asked about extending my stay. Eventually, I said I would figure it out the next day. When I inquired about available upgrades for Gold members, he snarkily responded, “Uh, no! Like, what is that?” This really frustrated me, and I had to explain the Marriott membership tiers to him. I was simply looking for information.Additionally, I had a hold for a non-refundable dog fee on my reservation, which he apparently didn't note. When I brought my dog in, he became quite upset. I had to call customer service to sort everything out. While on the phone, another customer approached him, complaining about not receiving clean towels or housekeeping service for three days. They ended up in a heated argument, and he finally gave the man just two towels. At this point, I realized I made a mistake by booking through the Marriott app instead of checking Google reviews first. SpringHill Suites is usually a decent hotel, so I did not expect to check into a worn-down, outdated building. I finally retreated to my room, which was basic. There was no smart TV, which is quite typical in San Antonio, and the shampoo and body wash in the shower were empty. The toilet paper roll was low, and there was no extra roll provided. The next day, I went to check out the breakfast, but honestly, the place was so poorly run that I didn’t feel comfortable eating there. I just wanted to see what they had, and of course, breakfast consisted of only cereal and muffins. It was the most depressing spread. I looked around at the other guests, who probably paid around $200 for the night, and felt bad for them. They were either on holiday, traveling, or there for business, and this was the service they received? I checked out immediately and moved to the Sol Cypress hotel, where I felt right at home.

Will definitely go back . Ian at the front desk was very knowledgeable and helpful. if not having a pool matters to you, then you'll be fine, no breakfast either . We love that it was 0.2 miles to walk down to the river walk. a lot of things are walking distance. i even walked less than half a mile to get a fade cut. You do have to pay for parking unfortunately but it is covered. Had a balcony view, which made our experience more enjoyable. Heb less than 3 miles away.

DO NOT GO HERE! Our short stay was horrendous - to the point where we checked out early and went to the Hilton. It may only rate 3 stars on websites but no one deserves what we endured. We spent the first 24 hours with hands in the toilet cistern to stop it over filling, moved rooms and within 24 hours that toilet overflowed with dirty water, it was supposedly fixed, but at 5 am the following day, it overflowed again under the bathroom door flooding the carpet with unsanitary water. On placing towels on the floor they stained immediately! Clearly not the first time this happened! The staff at reception could not give two hoots. We packed our bags, moved to the Hilton - who were superb and jumped in the shower as are feet were filthy from the floor.Utterly dreadful, will be reporting to the necessary authorities about the filthy carpets. Do not even think about this place if you have children. It may be central but that is all that is going for it.The lift still not working and it s about a month now

The husband and I checked in on Friday May 16, and was there until Monday. We had a king balcony room. Even though the elevator was broken, the staff was so helpful! Very comfortable room with excellent location! Robert behind the desk paid for our Uber and we gave him cash back so we wouldn't be late for our show! Great staff!

Do not believe the pretty pictures on the website. Think Bates Motel old. The smell was odd and they use wax scents and fans to try to cover it up. You are literally paying to be close to the river walk. We had to go ask for towels and toliet paper because house keeping never came to our room the three days we were there. My favorite part was the cockroach in my room. I have stayed in 3rd world motels nicer than this place. It was Festival weekend and we could not get a refund if we canceled and all the other hotels were booked. I would have rather slept in my car. They also do not have enough parking passes for their guest so be prepared to park somewhere else. I do not recommend this place. Read reviews before booking anywhere.

Very cute boutique hotel. A block away from the river walk which is perfect! The parking is either in a garage right next to it for $27 or across the street. I will probably try the lot tonight. The room is clean and spacious. There’s also a cute balcony connected to the other room’s balconies. I enjoyed it. I haven’t seen breakfast yet but I slept very well!

Just spent a night at the O'Brien Riverwalk Boutique Hotel in San Antonio, TX. The check in clerk, Sarah, was awesome! So nice and informative. It was the best night's stay during my 7 day vacation in Texas. The hotel was amazing, but Sarah's customer service was excellent! Give that woman a raise! I didn't have much interaction checking out, but Robert was very nice and friendly. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be close to the Riverwalk, enjoy a beautiful, very clean room and have excellent customer service for a very reasonable price.

My husband and I stayed at the O’Brien for 7 nights in January 2025, to visit family and vacation in the area.  We were expecting to have a home away from home and chose the O’Brien for its claim of boutique charm, price, and proximity to the Riverwalk. The only positives I can state are that we were within walking distance to many downtown attractions, the daily room rate didn’t break the bank, and there didn’t seem to be any bed bugs or other pests. Our stay there was an overall unsatisfactory experience.  From the property itself (“historic” translated to old and not well-maintained) to the lack of care from the staff.  Some examples:To get a lukewarm-to-warm shower, we had to run the faucets for several minutes.Tiles in the bathroom were dislodged and I suspect there was some water leakage behind themFor the full week and a day we were there, our room was not serviced.  Hotel claimed that room could only be serviced if a request the day before was made.  Even when this request was made ahead of time, this still did not happen.Trash was not taken out.  New towels, a refill of shower gel, and toilet paper were only provided upon request. When we requested new sheets on the bed, a set of sheets was left on a chair in the room to make ourselves.Multiple requests for new cups/glasses were not fulfilled.Front desk staff seemed apathetic and unwelcoming. All in all, while our time at the O’Brien was not unpleasant enough to cut our stay short (it wasn't bad enough to be worth the hassle of finding somewhere else in the middle of our trip), I would not stay at this hotel the next time I visit San Antonio.

We came in contact with about 5 different staff members here. They all were very welcoming and friendly. Bed was super comfortable, and so were the pillows. We loved the patio! The location was in the heart of everything, and within walking distance. We had everything we needed, and it was a great value. I definitely will stay here again.

O'Brien Riverwalk Boutique hotel is a piece of history that is meant to fade into history.I hate leaving bad reviews, I debated for a long time whether or not I would leave a review. The location is great but I regret staying there.1st Issue:Parking is extra, which is fine, I paid for it and we moved on. When I tried to leave the parking garage they said the card wasn't working and then I had to pay for my parking. They apologized in the hotel because it is a separate business and then refunded a part of my parking payment since I paid for 2 nights at the actual garage, no stress, right? Wrong. When I went to buy a drink they said that person wasn't allowed to return the parking fee because I paid it and it was my fault for not being able to follow directions, then wouldn't let me purchase a drink until I repaid the parking fee. First strike.2nd Issue:The smoke alarm in my room went off in the middle of the night with a SIREN and I had to ask the staff to unplug it, and they said they don't get on ladders in the middle of the night. Meanwhile this was 4 AM and I took the ladder and climbed up to unplug the alarm which was SO DUSTY that it went off. This should be basic courtesy to clean to make sure guests don't get woken up at 4 in the morning to a smoke alarm.3rd Issue:They have a literal list of prices in the room if you damage anything and then took a while to refund my security deposit. Then I went to check, turns out they did not refund my security deposit but charged an additional 81.91 to my card 24 hours after I had left. And when I tried to call twice, they sent me to voicemail and it just so happens that the voicemail is full.Thank you for this lovely roller coaster of literal garbage with my stay.

I spent the week here with my family. Excellent value for basically being right downtown and with easy access to a ton of stuff to do. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly and helpful. The two queen beds in the room we rented were comfortable. The room did feel somewhat small with the two beds, desk, and fridge/entertainment center but we were there for vacation so did not spend a ton of time in the room.We all really enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay here again.

Conclusion: In conclusion, San Antonio’s Riverwalk isn’t just a picturesque waterway; it’s a hub of activity, culture, and hospitality, offering an array of hotel experiences to suit every traveler’s desires. The hotels nestled alongside this scenic stretch provide not just a place to stay but a gateway to an unforgettable exploration of San Antonio’s rich heritage and vibrant atmosphere.
