The staff made our stay unforgettable. Kim Huynh, the Food and Beverage Manager, was incredibly attentive, checking on us at the rooftop pool and restaurant. She even gave me a signed birthday card from her and the team—such a thoughtful surprise!
At checkout, when we had car trouble, the General Manager Mickey personally helped jump-start our car, walking several blocks to assist us. This level of hospitality is rare and appreciated.
This is the best hotel experience we’ve ever had. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
The room was spacious and well organized. They have thought of a fir bit of little touches like fruit in the room which makes for a positive difference. The bed is VERY comfortable.
The breakfast credit in my opinion is not worth it because the food is not fresh. It’s like an upscale Denny’s quality food experience with pleasant service. The lunch and dinner at their restaurant is good.

2. Paid the exorbitant 40 dollars a night for parking, went to dinner, parking garage full upon return, had to find a different parking garage down the street, which is cheaper.
3. Unrequested automated wake up calls every morning at 5:30. Come on man...DO BETTER
4.Noisy kids in hallways way too early.
5, On check out morning, housekeeping keep coming in room and waking us up. Why would they come in before we checked out. DO BETTER
The location is unbeatable.
We also really appreciated the hotel’s complimentary happy hour. The staff running it were courteous and professional, and the snacks were a great touch. Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with a great variety of options.
I highly recommend this hotel—first for its prime location, and second for its thoughtful amenities.

The bad was as follows. Room was dirty. The concrete floors and area rugs were stained and there was dust build up in the corners. This part of the room looked like it had been weeks or months since it had last been cleaned. There was no microwave and shower had a strange overhead shower and handheld option. Took a couple of tries to get a hang of and stop both from working at once. Hotel parking a bit pricy and is valet only. In fairness, the same public parking garages the valets use are only about $15 less per night.
Overall, good hotel but they need to work on cleaning!
The restaurant on site, as well as the bars, have delicious foods but just know you're paying a lot for a little, even though it tastes great (like $15 for 3 flautas).
We paid a little extra to have a Riverwalk view for our room but we ended up being just about the top floor so we couldn't even see the river from our room, even if we pressed our face on the glass. That was the only annoyance but next time we'll just call and request a lower level, no big deal.
We really enjoyed the stay for the weekend we were there. Staff was extremely nice, valet took great care of our car, location is excellent, room was spacious and clean, we enjoyed our anniversary for sure. Definitely recommend this hotel.
The rooms are spacious and have a fun contemporary vibe. This is a dog friendly hotel, and we loved that our two small dogs could join us. The rooms are also very soundproof! Fewer unknown noises to concern our pups!
Rooms were very clean upon arrival! And I loved the shower design.
But what really makes this place stand out is the staff! EVERY SINGLE employee that we interacted with was pleasant and seemed genuinely happy that we chose to stay there.
Parking tip: Valet is $65 a night, but there is a self park garage across the street for $40 a night!
The restaurant Domingo was also very good! I would definitely recommend staying there!

We had some drinks and appetizers at their restaurant, Four brothers, the service there was amazing too! The bartenders made some great drinks and the food was delicious!
The entire staff was friendly. Especially Bryan, he made sure we enjoyed our stay and was very attentive! Definitely booking another stay!
Room with the private balcony was absolutely the way to go. I wish we had one above the waterfall, but that’s just personal preference. Initially I was upset because we were behind a tree but it ended up being the perfect room and you could still see so much of the river.
The history behind the hotel is cool too. Didn’t know it was a major point on the boat tour!
Next time anyone I know is going to San Antonio, I’m recommending this hotel 10/10 times
One of the highlights was the location—right along the San Antonio River Walk. We’d take evening walks with colleagues, exploring the area and checking out different restaurants and spots along the river every night. It made the trip feel like a perfect mix of work and relaxation. Highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting San Antonio!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our stay at Omni La Mansion del Rio was incredible! The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with rustic beams and brick walls that gave it so much character. The bed was super comfortable, and the seating area was perfect for relaxing.
The location right on the River Walk couldn’t have been better; everything was just steps away, yet the hotel was quiet and peaceful.
If you’re visiting San Antonio, this is the perfect place to stay. We’ll definitely be back!

We would not stay here again!
The location of this property is excellent, and the included breakfast exceeded our expectations—it was a pleasant surprise. However, as a Gold member, I was disappointed to be informed that while our room was ready, we’d need to pay an additional $40 to access it just two hours earlier.
We also used the onsite laundry facilities, carefully selecting delicate settings, yet all our clothing shrank significantly—an extremely frustrating issue to deal with in the middle of a trip. When we raised this with reception, we understood there wasn’t much they could do after the fact, but their lack of empathy and unwillingness to update or warn future guests about the laundry settings felt dismissive and unhelpful.
While the stay had its positives, the handling of these issues left us feeling undervalued as guests.
The check in was amazing, the front staff was very friendly and helpful.
The check in process was great and the room was amazing, the view of the river walk was beautiful with steps to the river walk.
The valet parking staff was very nice and helpful, they had no issues help us out when we kept forgetting things in the car so the staff was able to quickly grab the items and made staying here worth the price.
If you’re looking for a safe place with an amazing view then this is definitely the place you would like to stay!!!
As a Hilton diamond member, I could personally recommend this property!!!

We check out this morning, we parked at a nearby parking garage for a lower cost. As I pulled into the drive-through aisle valet staff were yelling at me to pull thru yet there were 4 children On the opposite side of them coming out of an SUV in the roadway, To include the car on my left with its doors open.
Before they yell at guests please ensure it safe to proceed, if something was to have happened to the pedestrian or parked vehicles I’m sure valet staff would have not accepted responsibility!
The 1st night in our remodeled room the shower had no hot water. Props to the maintenance guy coming up at 11pm and quickly figuring out they had t replaced the valve as part of the remodel. But, that meant no hot water for our stay. My wife and I got into what the maintenance guy referred to as "Luke warm" at 88F. If its below body temp its not like warm. It should go body temp, then tepid, then Luke warm and then varying degrees of hot ending in scalding.
The next morning the toilet ceased flushing. There's an issue with the float valve but I wasn't going to take it apart to fix it.
The last issue the morning we left she was stuck in the elevator as the panel wasn't accepting inputs. Thankfully this only lasted a few minutes.
Four negative marks for a 1 night stay. Not great. Front desk comped our valet and gave us points.
OG review:
Right on the River with great access, we were on the 10th floor.
So cleanly remodeled the hallway carpet was still off gassing. Thankfully the room didn't have the same aroma.
Street noise is a little high, but just run some white noise and you'll be fine.
1. The noise level is horrendous. From the minute we checked in, we had to ask for a different room because they were doing construction directly beside the room they gave us inside the hotel. We moved to the new room and outside the window was more construction on a new building. This of course is not within the hotel’s control, but still a factor when booking this hotel. The street noise is SO loud. Street racing, loud trucks. This is not the right hotel for rest.
2. We opened the balcony door to enjoy the view and fresh air and once the breeze kicked up, we were covered in these paint chips. See picture.
3. We couldn’t get a hot shower any of the days that we stayed there and the best we could get was maybe lukewarm.
The staff was really kind and helpful, the access to the Riverwalk was really convenient. And the hotel itself was nice.
Recommendation to Hilton: provide information to your guests about current construction circumstances prior to booking.
E.Santana was awesome and helped make our stay great.
-Hotel room was clean and beds are comfy.
-Short walk to some iconic places on the River Walk. -Great bar& Restaurant options attached to the property.
-Go Rio boat cruise picks up across the River from the hotel doors.
Our room was nice in that we had a balcony overlooking the riverwalk but the air conditioner completely stopped cooling on the last night leading to a very uncomfortable night stuck at 79 degrees. Which we informed the front desk about at checkout the next morning and the response was “oh strange”.
This hotel has a lot of potential but, was one of the least pleasant Hilton stays we’ve had. Focus is definitely on location not on customer service.
The room was super clean, a comfortable bed and a nice view on the river walk side. It was a bit noisy on Saturday night (concert, people screaming, noisy cars or motorbikes), but not much troubled on the other days. The breakfast buffet was good. I also tried the pizzeria: it was good and not expensive.
The hotel staff was kind and professional at any level.
Only negative point was the very small fitness room, it was getting already crowded at 6am.
Marriott San Antonio Riverwalk: Contemporary Elegance

Guests enjoy the outdoor pool, comfortable rooms equipped with modern amenities, and the attentive hotel staff. With 512 well-appointed rooms offering WiFi, showers, and free toiletries, this hotel promises a contemporary and comfortable stay in the heart of San Antonio.
We were very upset and notified front desk. I would like to note that the lady at the front was extremely apologetic and kind and offered us a new room, for this I am giving 4 stars for “service”. However that does not change the fact that this was unacceptable. Our room was not comped or discounted, we were instead offered Marriott points.
It was very late at night at this point and we had all of our luggage unpacked and kids almost down for the night. Since it was the only night we were staying, we declined the offer to move and just threw towels over the area until were could check out the next morning.
I do appreciate the attempt from management to rectify the situation, however, we also stayed at another San Antonio Springhill location (Airport location) two nights later on our trip, in which we found a used condom and unknown medication on our carpet. With these both being SpringHill locations and such unbelievable issues in sanitization/cleanliness, I have to believe these were not just rare situations. Our small children could have come in contact with 2 different bodily fluids amongst this trip as well as risk of ingesting the pill found on our carpet. I do believe this needs to be addressed by Marriott.
The bad - details below
I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, it was an extremely frustrating experience. As a Platinum member, I expect a certain level of service, but this stay was far from what I anticipated.
First, there were no drinking water bottles in the room—something that should be standard, especially for loyal guests. To make matters worse, the staff didn’t even acknowledge my Platinum status, which left me feeling completely overlooked.
The main issue, however, was with the bathroom. The drain was clogged, making it nearly impossible to take a shower. When I reported the issue, I was initially told that no one was available to fix it. Cat at the front desk offered to move us to another room to shower. After a while, she called back, first directing us to Room 330, and then, moments later, saying someone would come to fix the drain. However, the drain fix didn’t work—water still wouldn’t drain properly, and we had to stand in dirty, stagnant water.
I called the front desk again to inform them the problem wasn’t resolved, and Cat responded that there was nothing more she could do. Instead, she offered me points as compensation. When I explained that points wouldn’t help me shower, she abruptly hung up on me. This level of service was shocking. What's worse, I never received any points as promised.
Frustrated, I went to speak with the manager directly. Initially, he claimed the hotel was fully booked, but when I mentioned Cat’s offer to move us to another room, he admitted that was a mistake. Only after realizing the seriousness of the situation did he offer us access to another bathroom. However, no one showed up to help us with this arrangement. I saw a staff member unlocking Room 330 next door, but he didn’t speak English and couldn’t assist me. Eventually, I had to speak to Cat again through the staff member’s personal cell phone.
All in all, I wasted nearly two hours of my time just trying to get a shower in the hotel. Both Cat and the manager lacked basic professionalism, and it’s hard to understand how they’re still employed at this hotel. As a Platinum member, I expect much better treatment. If this is how they treat their loyal customers, I can only imagine how they treat others.
We made our reservation weeks in advance. I checked-in using the Marriott mobile app hours before out arrival. Upon arrival, we were told their rooms that were available had no heat. This was the weekend we were having the freeze/snow. The receptionist found a room that was a king-room which we agreed to take even though we reserved for 2 Queen sized beds. We went to the room only to be moved to another room because the lock did not work! The room we were in was clean but you can hear all the noises in the hallway even early in the morning when occupants were walking and entering their rooms past 2AM. It was also difficult to sleep because you can hear the wind outside the window as if you are out there in the midst of the weather.
We requested for an additional towel and blanket since this was meant for only 2 people. You would have to obtain these on the first floor. Even when we requested for these, they were not ready when we tried to have them from the first floor.
Breakfast was limited. People ate in a small confined and packed area.
If I can give this hotel a zero, I would have.
Don't be deceived by its information of being newly renovated. The condition of this hotel is very poor.
At check-in, the male front desk employee was unhelpful when I asked about extending my stay. Eventually, I said I would figure it out the next day. When I inquired about available upgrades for Gold members, he snarkily responded, “Uh, no! Like, what is that?” This really frustrated me, and I had to explain the Marriott membership tiers to him. I was simply looking for information.
Additionally, I had a hold for a non-refundable dog fee on my reservation, which he apparently didn't note. When I brought my dog in, he became quite upset. I had to call customer service to sort everything out. While on the phone, another customer approached him, complaining about not receiving clean towels or housekeeping service for three days. They ended up in a heated argument, and he finally gave the man just two towels.
At this point, I realized I made a mistake by booking through the Marriott app instead of checking Google reviews first. SpringHill Suites is usually a decent hotel, so I did not expect to check into a worn-down, outdated building. I finally retreated to my room, which was basic. There was no smart TV, which is quite typical in San Antonio, and the shampoo and body wash in the shower were empty. The toilet paper roll was low, and there was no extra roll provided.
The next day, I went to check out the breakfast, but honestly, the place was so poorly run that I didn’t feel comfortable eating there. I just wanted to see what they had, and of course, breakfast consisted of only cereal and muffins. It was the most depressing spread. I looked around at the other guests, who probably paid around $200 for the night, and felt bad for them. They were either on holiday, traveling, or there for business, and this was the service they received? I checked out immediately and moved to the Sol Cypress hotel, where I felt right at home.
O'Brien Historic Hotel: Charming Stay by Rivercenter
- Parking included
- Fitness centre

- 116 Navarro St

O’Brien Historic Hotel, situated near the Alamo and the Tower of the Americas, invites guests to experience a charming stay. The hotel offers a terrace, a business center, and 39 rooms adorned with premium bedding, laptop-friendly workspaces, and clean amenities. With its prime location and focus on value and comfort, this hotel is a delightful choice for those exploring San Antonio’s historic landmarks.
The staff at reception could not give two hoots. We packed our bags, moved to the Hilton - who were superb and jumped in the shower as are feet were filthy from the floor.
Utterly dreadful, will be reporting to the necessary authorities about the filthy carpets. Do not even think about this place if you have children. It may be central but that is all that is going for it.
The lift still not working and it s about a month now
The only positives I can state are that we were within walking distance to many downtown attractions, the daily room rate didn’t break the bank, and there didn’t seem to be any bed bugs or other pests.
Our stay there was an overall unsatisfactory experience. From the property itself (“historic” translated to old and not well-maintained) to the lack of care from the staff. Some examples:
To get a lukewarm-to-warm shower, we had to run the faucets for several minutes.
Tiles in the bathroom were dislodged and I suspect there was some water leakage behind them
For the full week and a day we were there, our room was not serviced. Hotel claimed that room could only be serviced if a request the day before was made. Even when this request was made ahead of time, this still did not happen.
Trash was not taken out. New towels, a refill of shower gel, and toilet paper were only provided upon request.
When we requested new sheets on the bed, a set of sheets was left on a chair in the room to make ourselves.
Multiple requests for new cups/glasses were not fulfilled.
Front desk staff seemed apathetic and unwelcoming.
All in all, while our time at the O’Brien was not unpleasant enough to cut our stay short (it wasn't bad enough to be worth the hassle of finding somewhere else in the middle of our trip), I would not stay at this hotel the next time I visit San Antonio.
I hate leaving bad reviews, I debated for a long time whether or not I would leave a review. The location is great but I regret staying there.
1st Issue:
Parking is extra, which is fine, I paid for it and we moved on. When I tried to leave the parking garage they said the card wasn't working and then I had to pay for my parking. They apologized in the hotel because it is a separate business and then refunded a part of my parking payment since I paid for 2 nights at the actual garage, no stress, right? Wrong. When I went to buy a drink they said that person wasn't allowed to return the parking fee because I paid it and it was my fault for not being able to follow directions, then wouldn't let me purchase a drink until I repaid the parking fee. First strike.
2nd Issue:
The smoke alarm in my room went off in the middle of the night with a SIREN and I had to ask the staff to unplug it, and they said they don't get on ladders in the middle of the night. Meanwhile this was 4 AM and I took the ladder and climbed up to unplug the alarm which was SO DUSTY that it went off. This should be basic courtesy to clean to make sure guests don't get woken up at 4 in the morning to a smoke alarm.
3rd Issue:
They have a literal list of prices in the room if you damage anything and then took a while to refund my security deposit. Then I went to check, turns out they did not refund my security deposit but charged an additional 81.91 to my card 24 hours after I had left. And when I tried to call twice, they sent me to voicemail and it just so happens that the voicemail is full.
Thank you for this lovely roller coaster of literal garbage with my stay.
We all really enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay here again.
Conclusion: In conclusion, San Antonio’s Riverwalk isn’t just a picturesque waterway; it’s a hub of activity, culture, and hospitality, offering an array of hotel experiences to suit every traveler’s desires. The hotels nestled alongside this scenic stretch provide not just a place to stay but a gateway to an unforgettable exploration of San Antonio’s rich heritage and vibrant atmosphere.
