The Ultimate Guide to Orange Beach Hotels on the Beach with Balcony

Table of Contents

Let’s be real—when you’re dropping cash on a beach vacation, you want the full experience. Not some cramped room with a view of the parking lot. You want to wake up, slide open those glass doors, and step onto your private balcony with nothing but Gulf waters stretching to the horizon. That sweet ocean breeze hitting your face while you sip your morning coffee? Absolute game-changer.

If you’re hunting for the perfect Orange Beach hotel with a beachfront balcony, you’ve landed in the right spot. I’ve done the heavy lifting to bring you an insider’s guide to the best balcony views this Alabama coastal gem has to offer.

Island House Hotel Orange Beach - A DoubleTree by Hilton

Orange Beach Hotels On The Beach With Balcony

This Hilton property knows what travelers want—every room features “stunning ocean views and direct access to the beach” with private balconies throughout. The hotel smartly uses terms like “beachfront” in its marketing, though interestingly, they haven’t fully optimized for the specific search term “Orange Beach Hotels On The Beach With Balcony” (marketing team, if you’re reading this, you’re welcome for the tip).

What makes Island House stand out is the consistency—you’re guaranteed that balcony experience regardless of which room you book. As one reviewer noted, “All rooms are beach front and have private balconies,” which is music to the ears of view-seeking travelers.

The hotel’s presence on the official Gulf Shores tourism website under both “Hotels” and “Resorts” categories gives it solid credibility and visibility for those researching their Orange Beach options.

Such a wonderful place to stay. I always get nervous staying somewhere new, however, it was so clean. The employees were super nice and respectful. Also, you can't beat the views 🏖️

Excellent location along the beach. Above standard for a beach hotel. The beds are comfortable. The showers are lacking in preasure. There's no smoking on balconies or outside the pool area. The TV is missing ability to hook up video games or streaming platforms. The bartenders are missing experience.

Wonderful stay at the Island House. Victoria and Erika were a pleasure to work with and a huge help coordinating a corporate event for 50+ guests. The food catering and the hotel restaurant was 10/10!! staff was very pleasant and kind. Rooms were BEAUTIFUL and easy access to the beach 10/10 experience overall.

Everything about the Island House was fabulous. Staff was above any we have stayed. The room was so clean you could not find any dust even the balcony was clean. All rooms oceanfront and beautiful view. Our first stay but will not stay anywhere else in the future. Obviously management knows how to manage.

Overall, a positive experience. Our check-in with Anna was awesome, the rooms were nice, and the location was great. They do not have a buffet breakfast, and despite being a Hilton Honors member, they would not honor the $10 credit to my room because I booked through a third-party site. A little annoying, which brings this 5-star review down to 4.

I enjoyed my stay here. The front desk staff were friendly and greet you every time you walk in or out. The man that made my latte at the Starbucks counter was kind as well. My latte was made perfectly.
The view of the beach from the balcony was everything. The room was clean and nice.

My family really enjoyed our 1st stay at the Island House. The location is great, close to all the great restaurants (Cobalts, Zekes, Coastal). The pool is heated (90*) which is a little warm for the summer time but I'm sure would be fabulous the rest of the year. Breakfast is made to order and is really good! If you are a Hilton Honors member you get a total of $30 toward food/drink per day. Also, don't forget about the warm free cookies! We went to Destin the last few yrs and the traffic was miserable. Orange beach was a breath of fresh air. This area of the beach is also not crowded. The lot next to the hotel only has 3 small townhouses which is the main reason. Definitely recommend!

We stay at Hilton Hotels a lot. This place has a nice location and the balcony was nice. The beach chair, etc service they offer had the sweetest girls working. So helpful and great. Housekeeping was great. Many of the front desk people were nice but some acted like they were being bothered. Rooms were very clean. Beds are hard though. (They did say they were being remodeled soon.) Restaurant is so-so and under our normal Hilton standards that we see. Understaffed (but those in there were nice!) but food was just ok. Limited menu offering on all levels. That we did not care for. Overall a good hotel but expect to go out for food - and be prepared for the harder beds if that bothers you.

I’ve stayed at many beachfront properties over the years, and while nothing quite compares to having your own condo, we decided to go with a hotel this time—and it turned out to be the perfect choice. Aside from not having a private kitchen, we didn’t feel like we were missing a thing. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and everything was spotless and well-maintained. The walk to the beach was just the right distance, and every room comes with its own balcony facing the ocean. It made for a truly relaxing and enjoyable week by the sea.

The rooms are good. The beds are high off of the floor, so shorter people may find that a bit difficult. Other than that, the rooms are very spacious and all rooms have an ocean view with a nice balcony. The view is beautiful!
All of the staff members are very friendly.
The prices are higher than I expected, but the hotel itself was worth it. I like that there are entrances to the beach that aren't for the public. They were somewhat busy but never overcrowded.
I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a nice, clean, and relaxing room. I will be back and I'll definitely stay here.

Check in representative was very friendly and friendly. The lobby appearance is good, nice flooring and spacious. Restaurant in the lobby area with a bar, open with lots of windows that look out at the pool and beach area.
My only complaint is the pillows! As soon as you lay your head on them they go completely flat. It to my liking.

This location is amazing, all rooms have balconies that face the beach. Clean rooms, great housekeeping, excellent beach bar and dining room- we ate multiple times there, i recognized bartender/server from last year, she’s great. Only issue i had with this place was the front desk— one rep in particular. We were looking to leave a bit early from the island house due to needs at home— i asked if we checked out early if we would recover any points or funds back. This front desk rep responded rudely in a way as if it was stupid to ask- unnecessary especially knowing that when I check out early at other properties I am not charged the rest of stay, so i think it was a fair question. Fair enough that’s policy of the hotel… The other issue I had with same
Front desk clerk, said that laundry room was out of order however if i went to laundromat they would credit me the cost of washer/dryer— a nice gesture. I went to the laundromat took care of our laundry, came back and asked for the credit. Rep was expecting me to give them a paper receipt, everything at the laundromat was electronically completed with an app or coin op, i.e. you’re not gonna get a receipt- i came back and showed the rep the electronic transactions from the app and emailed them a screenshot. I asked if all was good and the front desk rep responded yes. I thought this was handled but when i get my bill when i checked out, no credit. Now all of this is over $4.50, in the totality it’s nothing— however i believe in following through something that you offer. In the end i think they just didn’t want to give the credit…. And just didn’t want to tell me. Front desk is the face of your property, you can state your policies bur being pleasant goes a long way.

Sometimes you just never really know what to expect when booking a room. When we got into ours, we were amazed at how spacious it was. We chose a room with a Gulf view and ended up with that as well as views of 2 different pools and a private balcony.
Cleanliness and updated facilities get 5 stars. We enjoyed our time here.

It was off season and we enjoyed. Not much within walking distance so you'll need a car. But if you want a nice beach and pool vacation, this is a great spot for daytime. Night life isn't very happening. They should have a better restaurant and bar on site. Better more active night spots toward downtown.

Walls in rooms very thin. You can hear everything in the adjacent rooms. Nice views from balcony. Rooms clean and big.

I recently attended a conference at Perdido Beach Resort and as usual EVERYTHING was absolutely perfect! The accommodations are lovely and the staff is always so friendly and attentive. Rose, Monika and their crew do a fabulous job with the food service and it is always delicious.Jennifer is fantastic and always makes sure we have anything we need and everything runs smoothly. Great location. Live music every night and at the pool every day was a huge plus for this resort. Lisa the piano player on Sunday-Tuesday was one of the best I have ever heard play. Like where did she come from?! Amazing. True highlight of our visit.
Restaurants were good and easily accessible. Service was also very good. Very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommend.
Downside? Our gulf front room had shutters instead of blinds at the patio door making it impossible to not have to wear eye masks. And there was no microwave. There was one for the floor but didn’t work well and always a line. Almost a dealbreaker for a long stay at the beach. So either get a suite which has one or bring your own.

I didn’t stay at the resort, but I had to attend the ALACASE Conference at the resort. During each day of the conference, the service workers were amazing. Melody in particular was absolutely fabulous. She constantly walked around to ensure the guests were happy and comfortable. The food was delicious and always hot and ready. I’ve surely enjoyed the last 3 days and the food. 10/10 highly recommended.

Our stay at Perdido Beach Resort was absolutely outstanding — five stars all the way! From check-in to check-out, every part of the experience was top-notch.

A special shout-out to Marvin at Latitude 30 and Brook at the pool bar for their incredible service. Both went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Their friendly personalities and attention to detail truly made our visit memorable.

We can’t wait to come back — this is what genuine Southern hospitality on the Gulf Coast is all about!

Only great things to say about this resort. Clean, modern rooms; excellent restaurants; great pool and beach access; and the staff were wonderful. Can’t beat free valet, the exceptionally helpful and quick bellhops, and the counter agents were very accommodating and friendly. We stayed on our first trip to Orange Beach and the resort is a huge reason we’ll visit again.

The resort is in a beautiful location and the facility is well maintained. All our interactions with the staff were very positive and they were warm and accommodating. Our issue was with the rooms. We had a place to sleep but not a place to live for the week we were there. Each year we spend the week at the beach in a condo that has basic things like a microwave, refrigerator with freezer, washer/dryer, stove, and kitchen area. Before checking in to Perdido we did our grocery shopping for the week that included purchasing frozen food items (lots of ice cream). We were dismayed to find out our small refrigerator did not even have a freezer and there was no microwave in the room. Everywhere we travel our accommodations have a refrigerator with freezer and a microwave, even at places like Hampton Inn. We also could not wash clothes/towels during the week given there was no washer or dryer. We were not able to prepare our own meals during the week since there was no kitchen with appliances. We were also disappointed with how small the room was. We typically spend less to stay at a condo for a week but get more for our money to include a 2 bedroom condo with a kitchen, 2 baths, and a living/lounge area all with an ocean side view. Our stay was much less enjoyable than it could have been given the poor room accommodations. Although we love spending our summer vacations on the Gulf Coast we will not be returning to Perdido Beach Resort for future visits.

Everything you need for a beach or conference trip. If I calculated the number of nights I've spent here, it would be near 100. Since their hurricane renovations, it is one of my favorite places.

It has everything, one of the finest restaurants on the gulf, one casual restaurant, pizza and ice cream cafe, Starbucks coffee station, piano bar lounge with outdoor seating, pool side bar and pool side grill.

Rooms are very clean and nice appropriated. Views are fantastic. Elevators are quick and responsive.

Bathrooms are adequately designed, with only downside of narrow showers as was a standard when it was built.

And then the true stars of Perdido Beach Resort, the staff. Every single one you meet is smiling and friendly, if not, then it is because they are focused on how they can serve you. They raise this property to a whole new standard for the hospitality industry.

Cannot wait for our next stay!

Perdido Beach Resort is a Gulf Coast Gem!

From the moment we arrive at Perdido Beach Resort, we are treated to a truly first-class experience. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully appointed with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the view of the Gulf is nothing short of stunning.

The service throughout the resort is outstanding. Every staff member is warm, professional, and genuinely committed to making our stay exceptional. Whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, or waitstaff, the attention to detail and kindness make all the difference.

The dining options on-site are top-notch. From casual bites to elegant dinners, every meal was fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The cocktails are just as impressive! Creative, well-crafted, and perfect for sipping by the pool or beach.

Perdido Beach Resort combines coastal charm with luxury amenities. We’ve been coming for years and will continue for years to come!

Really liked this hotel and we had great time! Little pricey but thats okay and would stay here again if the right price came around. Very clean and well kept! 1st hotel that gave us more towels and wash cloths then people in our room and love that! Also loved the 2nd sink in our room! Great for washing our babies bottles and not having to wash them in the bathroom sink. All the staff was very firendly and helpful. Pool is very chill and beach is beautiful! Both very clean and well kept. Security ran a tight ship but very firendly! Wishing the room had more hooks to hang our wet swimming suits but made it work. I get nervous putting our swim suits on the balcony and them flying away. Lastly this is a family firendly hotel but activities for kids at the pool or beach would of been nice and made it little more lively/kid firendly. Overall had amazing stay give a 10/10!

My sister & I traveled from Ohio.
Your resort did not disappoint!
The lobby was very welcoming. The whole facility was very clean, modern & well maintained. Our room was comfy with a great view(angle) of the gulf!
Centrally located to many restaurants, shopping & parks. It did not feel touristy!!
Live music by the pool/ bar area on our 1st day was very relaxing.
Just steps from the ocean with wide white sandy beaches!
We even rode the complimentary E bikes!
Hoping to come back to this gorgeous spot!

This was the best experience ever. The resort is beautiful and so peaceful. My room was beautiful with a nice ocean view. I was instantly relaxed once I went into my room. Not to mention the wonderful restaurants and family entertainment buildings near by. If you’re looking for upscale resort that will make you feel relaxed and at peace, come here. The architecture of this resort is so nice. Every room is beautifully detailed.. I will be again! I stayed here to attend a conference. I’ve never felt so relaxed while also working. 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very pleased with Perdido resort, the cleanliness of the rooms/lobbies was great. We really enjoyed all the options for different food/drinks that the resort offered. If you didn’t want to leave for food you could exclusively stay here and be taken care of. We had Marvin taking care of us at the latitude 30 restaurant. His service was great! I highly recommend staying here. We are already planning our stay for 2026 and can’t wait to come back

We stayed at Perdido Beach Resort for a conference this week. Incredible experience! From the time we pulled into the parking lot to the time we checked out, things went smoothly. The room was nice and clean, the restaurants in the hotel were great, access to the beach was major highlight for us, and its location was decent. The only thing I don’t get is why each room doesn’t have a microwave? For the amount of money that folks spend to stay there, I feel like a microwave isn’t a huge ask. There is ONE for each floor. It isn’t a “make it or break it” deal, but it would’ve been nice to have one in the room. We will be back next year!!

Seashells at Perdido Key Resort!

Immediately upon entry the ambience is bright, impeccably clean and generously spacious. Once we approached the front desk we were met with the kindest, most personable staff member I could ever imagine meeting. Her named just happens to be Shell….yes just like the shells of the seashore! Shell is extraordinarily professional and exuded kindness that felt absolutely genuine. Her kindness never wavered upon each encounter with her…always the same demeanor! What a gem of a staff member for Perdido Key Resort!

We found our accommodations to be impeccably clean which I can’t say is the standard at so many properties we’ve visited, so compliments to all those responsible for keeping it that way. The entire property seems to gleam with cleanliness. Restaurants left nothing to be desired so feel confident in choosing to have a wonderful dining experience right on property! During this time of year, much maintenance is taking place, I imagine to be ready for peak seasons ahead, however, it’s handled in such a way that it does not distract from guest experiences. The interior was gleaming….but not so much as Shell ! ! !
So….seeShell 😉 at the front desk for a warm and outstanding welcome upon your arrival.

Best Western On The Beach

Orange-Beach-Hotels On The Beach With Balcony

Don’t let the chain name fool you—this property offers what reviewers consistently describe as “beautiful beach views” from private balconies. The hotel’s website effectively highlights its “private hotel balcony” offering “sweeping views of Alabama’s famous beaches” and a “beachfront pool deck.”

Room options like “1 King Bed Beachfront Room” and “2 Queen Bed Beachfront Room” are prominently listed, with detailed descriptions of “beach front/gulf view room types” featuring “full balcony” and “unobstructed views.” Guests rave about the “amazing view!” and “beautiful view of beach” in their feedback.

While exploring Orange Beach, don’t miss the opportunity to check out nearby Gulf Shores hotels on the beach with balcony options as well—they’re just a short drive away and offer equally stunning coastal views.

Room was very clean and balcony overlooking the beach was lovely. Nice place to just have a beach vacation. Does not serve breakfast but has a restaurant inside. That place is very pricey. Waffle House is within a short walk. Nice location to walk to restaurants and shops. Beach access is perfect. Pools were nice. We had the kitchenette room and it was clean with a few utensils so might be best to bring your own. Enjoyed the beach chair rentals and really overall had a great time.

DISCLAIMER: As with most reviews, this one is based on MY personal experience and should be taken as such. Things I value from a hotel experience may not seem important to others.

Upside: Great location. GREAT location. It is definitely on the beach. I reserved and paid for a room with beach views. Now, the website does say it may not be guaranteed. That's understandable. But in the end it worked out. Great room with a great view, which really was the purpose of this trip. Rest, relax, unwind, and listen to waves. Parking was a bit tight but controlled with mandatory passes displayed on the dashboard. And it's good until 4pm on the day of checkout.

Downside: Service was...ok. The East wing has one elevator. One. One very small one. And guess what? It was not in service for at least 4 hours during the morning when a lot of us were checking out. A LOT. Front desk wasn't concerned. At all. No signs posted, no notifications. Nothing. So after spending time at the beach dragging sand as a farewell to my trip, imagine my disappointment when I had to make my way up 3 flights of stairs. Oh yeah, the outdoor shower didn't function. So 3 flights of stairs with wet sand clumping up in my water shoes. Room wise, the tradeoff for the great room was a really small bathroom and abysmal water pressure in the showers. Beach access is great, but hotel guests have no access to beach chairs or umbrellas. That's operated by an elusive "they" that charges separately. Also, you have to check out beach towels from the front desk. Most info i found out about the hotel was given to me by guests. At check-in I was told to display the parking decal, which had to be done immediately before even taking my luggage to my room, and if I break anything I would have to pay for it. That's it. I had to ask how to get to my room and where the elevator was located.

Kudos to the housekeeping staff who have to turn over rooms at a beachside hotel. I know that can't be an easy task. The ones I encounter were really nice. And shoutout to the young lady who was obviously working as a waitress but stopped and checked me out (and inquired of i needed a receipt) when no one was at the front desk. She could have easily brushed but stepped in and handled it herself.

Would I stay here again? Hmm....I really don't know. But I do know it won't be during a local event when the room rates are jacked up. Totally not worth it.

We are completely dissatisfied with our experience at the Best Western on the Beach, Best Western Hotels & Resort, 337 E Beach Boulevard, Gulf Shores, Alabama 36542 from 9/18/2025 to 9/25/2025. The multitude of issues we encountered, starting on the day of arrival, significantly detracted from our trip and reflects poorly on the Best Western brand.

We arrived at the hotel on 9/18/2025. Upon entering our room, we discovered there was no hand soap provided whatsoever. We were unable to wash our hands after a long journey and before leaving for a late lunch, which is an unacceptable lack of a basic and essential

The hotel is in urgent need of a major facelift and renovation. The carpets and chairs in the room were visibly dirty and frankly disgusting, which immediately gave a poor impression of the hotel's upkeep and sanitation standards. Their pool deck is warped which causes a safety issue and many lounge chairs are broken. Showers to wash off coming from the beach to the pool or hotel do not work. When we mentioned this to the staff we were told that maintenance knew about the issue but so far have failed to fix the problem.

We utilized the provided "Please Clean Room" sign daily to request service. Despite this clear request, our room was not serviced on Tuesday 9/23/2025. We returned to our room around 4:00 PM to find it untouched, with no cleaning performed, no trash emptied, and no fresh towels provided.
When we inquired about the lack of service, we were shockingly advised not to use the service sign because the housekeeping staff reportedly had a "language issue" in understanding it. This is a severe failure of management and clear communication protocols. We were forced to go down to the front desk that evening to collect fresh towels and basic supplies to manage until the next day.

The following day, while the bed was made and the trash was removed, the overall cleaning was non-existent. Crucially, the surfaces of the shower, commode, and sink were not cleaned or sanitized.

Given the lack of basic amenities, the poor state of the room, the consistent failure of housekeeping, and the unprofessional explanation provided for the service failures, I must state that I will not recommend this hotel to anyone and will not return to this specific location. This experience has left a very bad taste regarding the standards of your brand.

We got there at 1 o’clock and wasn’t supposed to be clocked in till four and the man at the front went ahead and give us our keys that was great and we was scared when we walked down the hallways because it was a little dirty on the carpet, but the rooms are excellent clean at the best sleep I’ve had in years. The mattresses is the most comfortable And I definitely highly recommend this motel. The beds are phenomenal and very clean and it was quiet last night the beach is great couldn’t ask for a better place. Definitely will be back.

I had a wonderful day with my family at the hotel, the entire hotel staff were wonderful.
The staff was attentive to any of the needs that we had even answering questions of where family friendly restaurants were even suggesting a walk down the Gulf Shores .The hotel was very clean very convenient location right in the middle of all of the attractions and restaurants We didn’t get a chance to eat at the pancake house, however it all it stayed busy the entire time it was open. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms were very clean the balcony room we had an amazing time The beach was very clean overall of course we rated this a five star review because overall they checked all the boxes that a family could ask for in a hotel stay on the beach Thank you Heather for being attentive and helping me through the booking process. We left the fact that it had three hot tubs and an outdoor pool and an indoor pool and the pools were clean and big enough to fit multiple peopl. We will be back thank you for a wonderful vacation.

We made our reservation with Booking.com and when we got to the Best Western they didn't have the room we booked. It's because Booking.com books it not knowing anything about the hotel. But the two gentlemen at the front desk were so nice to get us a room as we ask for. We enjoyed our stay and from now on will book through Best Western and not Booking.com. thank you all so much😍 thank you to the two gentlemen that was at the desk last night 6-25-2025

We loved our stay at Best Western on the Beach!! The accommodations were just what we were looking for…it was very clean, with extremely comfortable beds(we looked to see what kind of mattress they use because we will be purchasing one for our home if possible), perfect location to all attractions, and has easy beach access. The kids enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pools. We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and even stay here again for our next stay!!

I have stayed here more times than I could could count! Wonderful owners and management! Never a bad experience. Owners are on-site daily but you wouldn't know it, their working alongside their employees. Great spot for kiddos as well. Within walking distance to shopping and dining. You won't be disappointed here! Great service, great cleaning crew.

We were coming into the area on our way to a graduation and chose this spot to spend the night right on the beach. We were not disappointed.
The hotel was clean and smelled great. Beds and pillows were so comfortable!
The bathroom looked recently updated, although the bathroom door looked a little worse for wear, but overall, it was a nice room.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
The gulf view from the balcony was wonderful, and we took an early morning walk on the uncrowded beach before driving to our destination.  We would definitely stay here again.

The location is perfect. It is literally on the beach. The staff was very polite and attentive. The facilities were clean and everything was accessible. The location had a surplus of bellhops making it easy to transport your luggage to the room. The facility had a nice restaurant located on the inside also The facility did have a washer Dryer available and a shower station so when you come from the beach, you don’t have to track the sign to your room. They also had three different pools to choose from the only thing I wish they had for the price that we paid was complementary breakfast, but I definitely will be staying there again.

go back

My husband and I took a last minute weekend trip and booked here. The positives are that the front desk staff is very nice, the beach front views are great and the bathrooms have been nicely redone. The rest of the trip was awful. The room itself smelled awful. They still have old carpet that turns your socks colors, so the rooms smell musty and faintly of urine. The walls are super thin so you hear everything from the neighbors. The people above us were smoking and throwing their cigarette butts over the railing. One fell onto our balcony while I was sitting there and hot ash hit my legs. I called the front desk and was told someone world lol into it, but it continued. I went out to the parking lot to drive to dinner and a group of men were all hanging out in the parking lot next to my car drinking alcohol. It was already dark out and this made me feel less than safe. If I could've left at this point and checked into another hotel, I would've but we prepaid and I would've been out the money we spent. Save yourself, don't stay here!

If you are looking for amazing customer service, this is the place! The staff is terrific. Heather checked us in early so we didn’t have to wait. Ashne and Candy were so accommodating; they even made me fresh coffee! Priscilla was our waitress for brunch (great service, not too pricey) and even checked us out the next day! Thank you all for a wonderful weekend!

What a delightful stay! This was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The front desk personnel were friendly and accommodating. We were allowed an early check in This is a popular and busy hotel - for a reason! The ocean front balcony was wonderful and worth the upgrade! We have always had good results with the Best Western chain though we are not frequent travelers. Excellent value - great location! Rooms are cozy but efficient. Superb service and communication. Never used the TV so I can’t evaluate it- we were celebrating our 30th anniversary vacation 😉. This is a fantastic hotel if you can snag reservations. Highly recommended!

Had a great experience here. Great room at a very reasonable price. Awesome view. Walking distance to everything needed. Clean room. Extremely comfortable bed.
But most of all, the staff were excellent. Especially Candi at the front desk.
Will definitely return soon.

Holiday Inn Express Orange Beach

Located “right by the beach,” this property offers balcony rooms with varying views. The hotel describes itself as an “exceptional beachfront hotel” offering gulf views, with “Beachfront Double Queen” room types listed on their website.

One thing to note: while the beachfront location is excellent, Hotels.com indicates that some rooms offer a “Standard Room, 2 Queen Beds, Balcony, City View.” If you’re specifically after that ocean view, be sure to clarify exactly which type of view comes with your balcony room to avoid disappointment.

The hotel maintains good visibility through listings on both alabama.travel and gulfshores.com, contributing to a strong backlink profile that helps with search rankings.

From the moment we arrived things were not great.
To summarize: room was not ready, when we finally got the room not cleaned, customer service sucked, food was ok, kitchen staff was one of the only saving grace for this hotel.

We got there 3:15, checking was at four. The person at the front, Sarah, her customer service needs work. She said the room was not ready that we would get a call when the room was ready, she never called. She also didn't let us leave our things for hold since we were only 45 minutes from check in. We arrived back at 5 and asked if the room was ready, she said yes and ignored me when I told her we never got a call about it being ready.

We got to our room and immediately noticed hairs in and on the bedding along with what looked like makeup stains. This was brought up to the staff, they sent someone to change the linens which we tipped for his time. Then we go to shower and notice hairs on the shower walls and tub. Hairs long and short, short as in not from the head. I brought this up but it was never addressed. Felt extremely gross staying here.

With the condition of the room I was nervous about breakfast here however the staff for the kitchen was great. The food was ok, what we expect from a hotel breakfast but the kitchen staff was great.

Location was good, access to the beach was why we chose to stay here but as we came to realize there are plenty of other options around here for that.

Posted are the photos we took upon arrival to our room.

We have stayed here the last 3 years 1-2 times a year. Very nice location. Staff is friendly and helpful, best part of the hotel. Rooms are ok. They are good and serviceable for a beach hotel. Pool are is nicely kept up. You are right on the beach and just a short walk away from it. Kitchen staff is excellent. Check in associates are nice and friendly. All in all an excellent stay. Breakfast is good with many choices that rotate daily.

We booked this hotel due to its location and the amenities it offered. Sadly it didn’t quite live up to expectations. Over the course of 5 days or so we never had our room turned over. We would throw much of our trash in the hall trash bins once ours was full only to find them filling up and not being emptied daily.
Their breakfast menu stated it included turkey sausage and as a non pork eating family that made us happy. Unfortunately that was not the case as it was not available a single day during our stay. When we requested it the kitchen staff stated they do not have any available.

On the positive side the pool area was great for kids of all ages.
The location on the beach was fantastic. The pool and beach areas were kept clean with plenty of seating.

In all honesty I’d stay here again without question but with my expectations would be significantly lowered.

Just had a wonderful stay! The hotel itself was great, but what really made the experience was the exceptional service from Miss bonnie at the front desk. She was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and she went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. She was also very knowledgeable about the local area and gave us some excellent recommendations. Her kindness and professionalism made a huge difference, and we're already looking forward to our next visit!

Holiday Inn Orange Beach, AL — Cute but Cramped and Kind of Creepy

Our stay at the Holiday Inn in Orange Beach was a mix of good and bad and while the beach access and charming exterior gave a great first impression, there were a few things that made the experience less than relaxing.

The room itself was just okay. We had a king room, but it felt surprisingly cramped. The faucet in the shower came off the wall, which is a pretty big safety concern — especially when trying to bathe a toddler. Our “city view” room ended up being right at the pool entrance, which wasn’t what we expected at all.

One weird issue: if you leave the balcony curtain even slightly open, be aware that some male employees walk by repeatedly and glance in — one in particular seemed a little too interested. Definitely made us feel uncomfortable.

We were also placed right next to the elevator — not ideal with a 2-year-old who was constantly woken up by people talking loudly in the hallway. To make matters worse, the area right outside our room reeked like a dirty diaper had been tossed in the trash and left to marinate for days. The smell would hit you every time you walked out — but magically disappeared once you got to the lobby.

Breakfast was a battle. The space was always crowded, even when we went early, and trying to find a spot to eat with a small child was nearly impossible.

Now, to be fair — beach access was fantastic, and the fun, beachy vibe of the building itself is adorable. But overall, between the layout, the noise, the smell, and the unsettling lack of privacy, I’m not sure we’d return.

2. Get points ( still have no idea how its works:)
3. Get late check out 2pm - free
4. Breakfast 🥞 was good!
5. Service at front desk was excellent

Thanks for your service. Highly recommend.

Clean, comfy, quiet! Fabulous staff that clearly care about making your stay a good one. The beach access is amazing, so close and if you want to rent chairs and umbrellas they make it super easy. The pool and hot tub are perfect, plenty of space and never felt crowded. The breakfast was standard but very tasty! Can’t recommend this place enough for a beach vacation.

We arrived on a Sunday stayed until Thursday. We had the best time here. It was quiet clean, and the location was perfect. We didn't have a single problem, I think our biggest decision each day was where to eat lunch and dinner We had so many places to pick from that were close. They have an outstanding breakfast available as well. The pool was awesome, so we'll maintained. We will definitely be back. You will NOT be disappointed.

The rooms may not have been 5 star rooms but the front desk service, the workers and the location more than made up for it. They treated us with kindness and with great customer service. The food care service workers were very helpful to us for our conference that we had and attentive to our needs. Housekeeping did an excellent job when they did clean our rooms. Our beds did sleep very well. Thank you for a job well done and I enjoyed my stay and thank you for allowing my women's conference to turn out beautiful before God and thank you for your patience!!

Not a bad place too. Seemed clean and beds were good. Still, I was probably the worst Holiday Inn Express I've seen. I've been quite happy with most. The building is older but was mostly renovated. Not all is great with that. Sliding balcony doors were not replaced and many whistle when windy. We moved and the hall door whistled until I put a towel at the bottom. Our first room was a king, laid out with the sleep sofa a foot from the balcony door. The lights were mostly on one side of the room and we couldnt see what was in our suitcases. The lobby and breakfast area were far from the beach. The eating area was without windows. Seating was one regular table, a few elevated, and most with a sectional sofa on one side with the seat way too low to be comfortable at a table. Two elevators but the one nearest the beach was never working and apparently not a priority for repair.

Breakfast was delicious eggs biscuits gravy sausage no bacon sadly. Pancakes. Will stay again on my next vacation. Easy access to beach.

Great location right on the beach and clean rooms with balconies. They also have a delicious breakfast with bacon and biscuits. On my last trip, I left the hotel for my flight home and realized I had left two new sweaters in the closet of my hotel room. I called the hotel at 4am and The staff grabbed them and held them at the desk until one of my team members could pick them up later.

The rooms were adequate.
The bed was comfortable
The hotel needs a touch up. I know it is a beach property and I expect sand etc. Just seemed as if the hotel carpet, elevator floor needed a good clean. The elevator in the back of hotel was not working.
The breakfast area was clean, nice decor. The selection of food was good.
The desk staff was friendly and welcoming
The pool is nice(didn’t get in, too cool for me). The location is perfect! Best part of the hotel is location.
We had an ocean view which was a bit disappointing for we were on the second floor limiting the view and in the corner. Probably would not of paid extra for that view. The room had a two chair balcony.
I would like to say sadly in this time in our country that safety is an issue. I felt like this hotel didn’t offer the best security. The doors leading to the pool area were accessible to anyone. There was a key card scanner but it wasn’t in use. Just my opinion.

The place was very nice other than the fact that it looked like the owners had not been there to check on anything any time recently. There were pictures messed up and floors cracked with black grout in high walking areas... the beds were all very hard in ours but still comfy ... just small stuff. Over all nice tho.

We have stayed here the last two years. We love this place. The rooms are wonderful but honestly, we do not go here for the rooms. You are right on the beach. But when you get tired of the salt and sea lice, they have many wonderful options: indoor pools, outdoor pools (1 with a slide that our kids love), a lazy river (my personal favorite), tennis courts, putting green, and probably other options we haven't discovered yet. We love coming here and will keep coming back.

This was by far the best time we have had on vacation in a while. Our stay here was everything and such a fun filled experience. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere overall made the stay even better. There was so much to do at the resort we almost didn't want to leave it to do anything else 🤣 even on rainy days we were able to still enjoy ourselves and stay occupied with the amenities they offer their guest. Which are all so much fun by the way and lots of options to choose from. Perfect for families and super kid friendly. Everything is so clean and the food was great. We had so much space in our room, and had everything we needed and more. It truly felt right at home, away from home. Great location, close to lots of stores and restaurants, plenty of parking, and direct access to the beach. Would highly recommend and will be looking forward to returning again on our next vacation. Thanks for such a memorable pleasant stay! ❤️

Finally we were able to make it this summer. It’s always on high demand. There is a reason for people choosing this place. It has the best view and rooms are awesome. We stayed at 2302 C tower. Plan to book through spectrum resorts so you get free breakfast fast and some kids play in the lounge. Much needed before you start the day.
Breakfast was awesome and the folks serving is best. With the little communication they can they go beyond to help everyone personally.

Recently stayed here for a concert. Since we brought the whole family, we decided to splurge, and it was well worth it. There are so many amenities for kids to enjoy, but most of all, there were multiple pools, which, as you know, really make a difference. The lazy river was fun, but it gets crowded, so I suggest going early.

Our suite was breathtaking. It was nicely decorated and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook a meal; I wish there were more coffee available in the room!
Breakfast was included in our stay, which was a nice touch. It is a step up from a continental breakfast and perfect for children. The best part was the beach access—you just can't beat the convenience of walking straight out onto the sand. It was also a huge plus to have so many rentals available since we didn't have our own. I would stay again.

The best resort for family adventure and fun! Our nieces had the BEST time in Orange Beach, AL. It is unbelievably family friendly and has numerous amenities for everyone. Huge shout out to Rachel, at the pool bar, for insisting that I not be left out of the bushwhacker hype! She kindly made me a version without the dairy to celebrate with my crew! Loved it here!!

Amazing Family Stay at C2305!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at C2305 with my family, and we had an absolutely amazing time! The accommodations were perfect for our needs. One of the highlights was the extra rollaway bed, which made our stay even more comfortable.

Additionally, the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals, making our family time even more special. The location was fantastic, and we truly enjoyed our time together in this lovely space. I highly recommend C2305 for anyone looking for a great family getaway!
We will be back in September!!
Thank you for the wonderful experience!

This property is AWESOME. Our teen daughters and nieces (as well as us parents) had an amazing time even in colder weather. The amenities were great- great gym, hot tubs, indoor pools, laundry, etc. Grocery delivery was easy and plenty of restaurants, entertainment and shops are nearby. Staff was so nice and helpful. Our condo was fabulous- spacious, comfortable, private, & well equipped with a beautiful view. We will definitely be back!

Place felt overpriced from the start...Hot Tub didn't work...Front desk dragged their feet about it till it was time to leave (Front desk wasnt present at the time) and the coffee maker was broken which is no biggie...I dont drink it...But the ol lady went down there to get a cup and they said we have to contact a number to get it fixed since we used air bnb to book...Save that hard earned money...Also bring your own toilet paper 4 star hotel 1 star sand paper...Spend money at a hotel that whats you to stay there not pay there

Turquoise is our favorite Orange Beach destination.
If you are lucky enough to visit Turquoise then I'd say you are lucky enough!

Fully appointed units with luxury finishes. Views cannot be topped. Most units have grille and hot tub on balcony. Spa tub and shower in master suite.
On site amenities are excellent, including very good food at Change of Pace, poolside restaurant.

We love it here! Turquoise Place in Orange Beach, AL, has large 3-5 bedroom condos with stunning Gulf views, private hot tubs, and top-notch amenities like indoor/outdoor pools, a pool bar, lazy river, 300ft water slide, and wifi on the beach. It’s our happy place!!

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Orange Beach at The Wharf (No Beachfront)

Not all great balcony views in Orange Beach require direct beachfront access. SpringHill Suites by Marriott Orange Beach at The Wharf offers “scenic views of the Intracoastal Waterway from our queen room’s balcony.” While not directly on the beach, these water views provide a different but equally appealing perspective, especially for those who enjoy watching boat traffic or prefer a slightly quieter setting.

A Booking.com reviewer noted a “Great view from our window!” and Marriott’s own site highlights these waterway views as a key selling point. For travelers who prioritize a balcony experience but don’t necessarily need direct beach access, this provides an excellent alternative.

The hotel was very nice and close to everything we needed and had what we needed. The fitness area is nice with a great pool and good breakfast.
We checked out and about 3 hours we get a call stating we left things in the room and will hold for us. This was awesome as most hotel staff just keep. Thank you SpringHill staff for holding out stuff so we could pick up.

Rooms are lovely and the locations is Beautiful. I've stayed multiple times. The only downfall is the beds are hard. They need to be upgraded. I book a room for my parents anniversary and they loved everything about it, but they absolutely hate the hard beds. This is the only thing that would stop me from booking again. A d I hate that because I love this hotel.

Rooms are great. Location is great. Reasonably priced. Very weird experience though. Housekeeping would clean my room daily, but would only kind of make my bed. Day one they made it and then it looks like they jumped on it. Day two they made no attempt to make the bed at all and yet changed towels. Very weird.

I booked a room with a view, our view was of the next door rooftop. The staff were not friendly. Breakfast was over at 9am, the guy locked the fridge at 902 so I couldn't finish my cereal. I had to request a room "refresh" twice just to get clean towels. The event center next door has natural gas and that's all you could smell at the pool. I was really excited about our trip, but the vibe of the hotel made me sad.

Let me start off by saying that Carlin, Mark, and Sarah were exceptional! I texted Carlin about extending my stay before I arrived through the app and she made sure I was taken care of. When I arrived, Mark and Sarah were patient helping me navigate the extension. I appreciate all of their help and understanding.

The room was perfect. It was clean and well maintained. The kids loved the pool!

We will definitely be back and I can't recommend this property and the staff enough.

We checked in early and had to be relocated to another room. Our original room had visible signs of wear on cabinets and the curtains were filthy. There were also hairs all over the room and in the beds. We took the elevator of course and noticed the certificate of operation was EXPIRED.
The pool was big but not clean as were the tables and chairs outside. The new room had dirty shower curtains. Overall, for the price we paid, I feel like the cleanliness should have been better than what it was.

The hotel is nice and It's at the wharf The rooms are okay. I don't really like the split bathroom with the toilet in one little room and a tub in another little room. The breakfast was okay and was the cleanest breakfast area I've ever seen. They kept The food well stocked and the area really clean.

After booking through a 3rd party and being told by them there will be no hidden fees, I was asked to use a card for incidentals. The man who checked us in acted as if it was a bother to explain what it was for. Put a credit card on file and was immediately charged. At check out I asked again about the incidentals. The way I understood it was for things in their shopping corner. I asked if I would be refunded and she told me yes but she sees I had purchases from the night before. I know for a fact we did not. So that means you don’t have to run your room card in order to make purchases and you can tell them any room number or maybe the staff wanted a midnight snack and charged it to any room. Yes it was very convenient to attend a concert but I think next time I’ll take my chances in traffic to make it to a different hotel.

***edit to reply to owner**
"Also, when you let us know that you had not made the purchase, that charge was removed from your account. Our team does verify name and room number when purchases are placed on the account."
Yes, charges were settled AFTER you all failed to verify it was the correct room. I still do not have a refund on my account as of 11:43 am 05/12/2025. Purchase was made at 2:31 am (per emailed receipt) and I can assure you we did not leave our room after midnight. Please review your security cameras before you try to make yourself look good. Just another reason we will not be staying at your facility again.

Booked a room with the Bonvoy app at this hotel and upon arrival I was told that my reservations was cancelled, because I booked at a prepay rate in August and the credit card didn't go through. My reservations were book in August, but the card was not submitted until October on the day of my reservations. I didn't receive a call from the hotel to confirm the card or given the opportunity to use a different card because I was in route to the hotel. I am a Marriott member and have stayed with Marriott on several occasions and never had a card to decline. I was offered an increase rate of about $45 per night and after speaking with the supervisor, the increase rate was a good rate and I should make sure that I book rooms at the standard rate in future. She maybe right, but sometimes a little compassion is what a customer needs when it is late at night and you have driven over 200 miles and realize that a trusted company like Marriott don't have any compassions for errors or misstates.

Room had bed bugs, sheet had stains, and hairs. We had to cut our stay short due to bites and concerns of health/safety for our family. We had 2 children with us on our trip (12 year old and 9-month old). To prevent potential spread to our vehicle and home, we had to take extra precautions. However room did have a good view. Location was great.

I keep coming back. As a single business traveler, I feel safe here. The people that work here and the people that stay here are all calm, professional, and easygoing people. The rooms with the pool view are amazing because the pool is amazing. It's huge for a hotel. The breakfast is outstanding. Each day they have a paleo option, some sort of egg fritatta/souffle thing and it is so hard to have only one. The location is perfect. You get the wharf plus the shops and the pool but also a quick drive to the beach. The rooms are always well kept and modern.

Was out here for the AAVA Conference with family everything was going great until I needed to use the printer, they didn’t want to give me any paper to print said they would have to charge me just for paper which I didn’t mind if the front desk lady didn’t have an attitude, I asked to use the conference room for my zoom meeting before evening using it and another front desk lady told me it fine to use, they here comes someone else saying I had to rent out the conference room. Staff was very unprofessional and not communicative with one another. Overall rooms were nice and the pool was relaxing. For it to by my first time here definitely was not the great memorizable experience sadly. Hopefully they get better staff that communicates and they’re on the same page

Making the Most of Your Balcony Experience

Once you’ve secured that perfect balcony room, here are some tips to maximize the experience:

  1. Pack binoculars: The Gulf Coast is home to abundant marine life—dolphins, rays, and various seabirds are frequently spotted from beachfront balconies.

  2. Plan balcony meals: Many hotels offer room service, or you can grab takeout from local restaurants to enjoy a private dining experience with an unbeatable view.

  3. Consider the season: While summer offers warmer swimming weather, spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) provide more moderate temperatures that can make balcony lounging even more pleasant, often at lower rates.

  4. Bring a small bluetooth speaker: Create the perfect soundtrack for your balcony relaxation (just keep the volume respectful).

  5. Don’t forget sun protection: Even on your balcony, that Gulf sun can be intense. Bring sunscreen and perhaps a light cover-up.

FAQ: Orange Beach Hotels with Balconies

What is the best time of year to enjoy a balcony room in Orange Beach?

Spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) offer ideal temperatures for balcony enjoyment with fewer crowds and lower rates than peak summer months. The Gulf waters are still warm enough for swimming in these shoulder seasons, but the air temperature is more comfortable for extended balcony lounging.

Turquoise Place stands out with its private balcony hot tubs and grills, offering an unmatched luxury experience. The combination of Gulf-front views with the ability to soak in a hot tub or grill your own meals creates a premium outdoor living space unlike any other property in the area.

Chain hotels like Holiday Inn Express and Best Western Premier The Tides often provide more budget-friendly balcony options while still offering beachfront locations. These properties maintain the essential balcony experience without some of the premium amenities that drive up prices at luxury resorts.

No, not all rooms at beachfront properties include balconies. Always specify a balcony room when booking, and clarify whether it offers a beach view or another perspective. Some hotels have a mix of balcony and non-balcony rooms, while others (like Island House Hotel) feature balconies in all accommodations.

Beyond the balcony itself, look for comfortable outdoor furniture, privacy dividers between neighboring balconies, and unobstructed views. Additional features that enhance the experience include balcony lighting for evening enjoyment, a small table for dining, and sufficient space to fully extend lounge chairs if available.
