Table of Contents

Let’s be real—when you’re dropping cash on a beach vacation, you want the full experience. Not some cramped room with a view of the parking lot. You want to wake up, slide open those glass doors, and step onto your private balcony with nothing but Gulf waters stretching to the horizon. That sweet ocean breeze hitting your face while you sip your morning coffee? Absolute game-changer.

If you’re hunting for the perfect Orange Beach hotel with a beachfront balcony, you’ve landed in the right spot. I’ve done the heavy lifting to bring you an insider’s guide to the best balcony views this Alabama coastal gem has to offer.

Island House Hotel Orange Beach - A DoubleTree by Hilton

Orange Beach Hotels On The Beach With Balcony

This Hilton property knows what travelers want—every room features “stunning ocean views and direct access to the beach” with private balconies throughout. The hotel smartly uses terms like “beachfront” in its marketing, though interestingly, they haven’t fully optimized for the specific search term “Orange Beach Hotels On The Beach With Balcony” (marketing team, if you’re reading this, you’re welcome for the tip).

What makes Island House stand out is the consistency—you’re guaranteed that balcony experience regardless of which room you book. As one reviewer noted, “All rooms are beach front and have private balconies,” which is music to the ears of view-seeking travelers.

The hotel’s presence on the official Gulf Shores tourism website under both “Hotels” and “Resorts” categories gives it solid credibility and visibility for those researching their Orange Beach options.

Check in representative was very friendly and friendly. The lobby appearance is good, nice flooring and spacious. Restaurant in the lobby area with a bar, open with lots of windows that look out at the pool and beach area.My only complaint is the pillows! As soon as you lay your head on them they go completely flat. It to my liking.

This location is amazing, all rooms have balconies that face the beach. Clean rooms, great housekeeping, excellent beach bar and dining room- we ate multiple times there, i recognized bartender/server from last year, she’s great. Only issue i had with this place was the front desk— one rep in particular. We were looking to leave a bit early from the island house due to needs at home— i asked if we checked out early if we would recover any points or funds back. This front desk rep responded rudely in a way as if it was stupid to ask- unnecessary especially knowing that when I check out early at other properties I am not charged the rest of stay, so i think it was a fair question. Fair enough that’s policy of the hotel… The other issue I had with sameFront desk clerk, said that laundry room was out of order however if i went to laundromat they would credit me the cost of washer/dryer— a nice gesture. I went to the laundromat took care of our laundry, came back and asked for the credit. Rep was expecting me to give them a paper receipt, everything at the laundromat was electronically completed with an app or coin op, i.e. you’re not gonna get a receipt- i came back and showed the rep the electronic transactions from the app and emailed them a screenshot. I asked if all was good and the front desk rep responded yes. I thought this was handled but when i get my bill when i checked out, no credit. Now all of this is over $4.50, in the totality it’s nothing— however i believe in following through something that you offer. In the end i think they just didn’t want to give the credit…. And just didn’t want to tell me. Front desk is the face of your property, you can state your policies bur being pleasant goes a long way.

Sometimes you just never really know what to expect when booking a room. When we got into ours, we were amazed at how spacious it was. We chose a room with a Gulf view and ended up with that as well as views of 2 different pools and a private balcony.Cleanliness and updated facilities get 5 stars. We enjoyed our time here.

It was off season and we enjoyed. Not much within walking distance so you'll need a car. But if you want a nice beach and pool vacation, this is a great spot for daytime. Night life isn't very happening. They should have a better restaurant and bar on site. Better more active night spots toward downtown.Walls in rooms very thin. You can hear everything in the adjacent rooms. Nice views from balcony. Rooms clean and big.

This was the best experience ever. The resort is beautiful and so peaceful. My room was beautiful with a nice ocean view. I was instantly relaxed once I went into my room. Not to mention the wonderful restaurants and family entertainment buildings near by. If you’re looking for upscale resort that will make you feel relaxed and at peace, come here. The architecture of this resort is so nice. Every room is beautifully detailed.. I will be again! I stayed here to attend a conference. I’ve never felt so relaxed while also working. 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very pleased with Perdido resort, the cleanliness of the rooms/lobbies was great. We really enjoyed all the options for different food/drinks that the resort offered. If you didn’t want to leave for food you could exclusively stay here and be taken care of. We had Marvin taking care of us at the latitude 30 restaurant. His service was great! I highly recommend staying here. We are already planning our stay for 2026 and can’t wait to come back

We stayed at Perdido Beach Resort for a conference this week. Incredible experience! From the time we pulled into the parking lot to the time we checked out, things went smoothly. The room was nice and clean, the restaurants in the hotel were great, access to the beach was major highlight for us, and its location was decent. The only thing I don’t get is why each room doesn’t have a microwave? For the amount of money that folks spend to stay there, I feel like a microwave isn’t a huge ask. There is ONE for each floor. It isn’t a “make it or break it” deal, but it would’ve been nice to have one in the room. We will be back next year!!

Seashells at Perdido Key Resort!Immediately upon entry the ambience is bright, impeccably clean and generously spacious. Once we approached the front desk we were met with the kindest, most personable staff member I could ever imagine meeting. Her named just happens to be Shell….yes just like the shells of the seashore! Shell is extraordinarily professional and exuded kindness that felt absolutely genuine. Her kindness never wavered upon each encounter with her…always the same demeanor! What a gem of a staff member for Perdido Key Resort! We found our accommodations to be impeccably clean which I can’t say is the standard at so many properties we’ve visited, so compliments to all those responsible for keeping it that way. The entire property seems to gleam with cleanliness. Restaurants left nothing to be desired so feel confident in choosing to have a wonderful dining experience right on property! During this time of year, much maintenance is taking place, I imagine to be ready for peak seasons ahead, however, it’s handled in such a way that it does not distract from guest experiences. The interior was gleaming….but not so much as Shell ! ! !So….seeShell 😉 at the front desk for a warm and outstanding welcome upon your arrival.

go backMy husband and I took a last minute weekend trip and booked here. The positives are that the front desk staff is very nice, the beach front views are great and the bathrooms have been nicely redone. The rest of the trip was awful. The room itself smelled awful. They still have old carpet that turns your socks colors, so the rooms smell musty and faintly of urine. The walls are super thin so you hear everything from the neighbors. The people above us were smoking and throwing their cigarette butts over the railing. One fell onto our balcony while I was sitting there and hot ash hit my legs. I called the front desk and was told someone world lol into it, but it continued. I went out to the parking lot to drive to dinner and a group of men were all hanging out in the parking lot next to my car drinking alcohol. It was already dark out and this made me feel less than safe. If I could've left at this point and checked into another hotel, I would've but we prepaid and I would've been out the money we spent. Save yourself, don't stay here!

If you are looking for amazing customer service, this is the place! The staff is terrific. Heather checked us in early so we didn’t have to wait. Ashne and Candy were so accommodating; they even made me fresh coffee! Priscilla was our waitress for brunch (great service, not too pricey) and even checked us out the next day! Thank you all for a wonderful weekend!

What a delightful stay! This was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The front desk personnel were friendly and accommodating. We were allowed an early check in This is a popular and busy hotel - for a reason! The ocean front balcony was wonderful and worth the upgrade! We have always had good results with the Best Western chain though we are not frequent travelers. Excellent value - great location! Rooms are cozy but efficient. Superb service and communication. Never used the TV so I can’t evaluate it- we were celebrating our 30th anniversary vacation 😉. This is a fantastic hotel if you can snag reservations. Highly recommended!

Holiday Inn Express Orange Beach

Located “right by the beach,” this property offers balcony rooms with varying views. The hotel describes itself as an “exceptional beachfront hotel” offering gulf views, with “Beachfront Double Queen” room types listed on their website.

One thing to note: while the beachfront location is excellent, Hotels.com indicates that some rooms offer a “Standard Room, 2 Queen Beds, Balcony, City View.” If you’re specifically after that ocean view, be sure to clarify exactly which type of view comes with your balcony room to avoid disappointment.

The hotel maintains good visibility through listings on both alabama.travel and gulfshores.com, contributing to a strong backlink profile that helps with search rankings.

Not a bad place too. Seemed clean and beds were good. Still, I was probably the worst Holiday Inn Express I've seen. I've been quite happy with most. The building is older but was mostly renovated. Not all is great with that. Sliding balcony doors were not replaced and many whistle when windy. We moved and the hall door whistled until I put a towel at the bottom. Our first room was a king, laid out with the sleep sofa a foot from the balcony door. The lights were mostly on one side of the room and we couldnt see what was in our suitcases. The lobby and breakfast area were far from the beach. The eating area was without windows. Seating was one regular table, a few elevated, and most with a sectional sofa on one side with the seat way too low to be comfortable at a table. Two elevators but the one nearest the beach was never working and apparently not a priority for repair.

Great location right on the beach and clean rooms with balconies. They also have a delicious breakfast with bacon and biscuits. On my last trip, I left the hotel for my flight home and realized I had left two new sweaters in the closet of my hotel room. I called the hotel at 4am and The staff grabbed them and held them at the desk until one of my team members could pick them up later.

The rooms were adequate. The bed was comfortableThe hotel needs a touch up. I know it is a beach property and I expect sand etc. Just seemed as if the hotel carpet, elevator floor needed a good clean. The elevator in the back of hotel was not working. The breakfast area was clean, nice decor. The selection of food was good. The desk staff was friendly and welcomingThe pool is nice(didn’t get in, too cool for me). The location is perfect! Best part of the hotel is location. We had an ocean view which was a bit disappointing for we were on the second floor limiting the view and in the corner. Probably would not of paid extra for that view. The room had a two chair balcony.I would like to say sadly in this time in our country that safety is an issue. I felt like this hotel didn’t offer the best security. The doors leading to the pool area were accessible to anyone. There was a key card scanner but it wasn’t in use. Just my opinion.

Hampton Inn & Suites Orange Beach/Gulf Front

Customer reviews highlight the “beautiful beachfront view” from this reliable chain option. The website mentions “Gulf views” and “private beach access,” and information from alabama.travel indicates the presence of “Private Balcony or Patio” options.

Like several other properties in this analysis, Hampton Inn & Suites maintains listings on both gulfshores.com and alabama.travel, creating valuable backlinks that enhance its online visibility.

For those exploring the wider Gulf Coast region, consider checking out Pensacola Beach hotels with balcony options just a short drive away for additional stunning waterfront views.

Turquoise Place Orange Beach Hotels On The Beach With Balcony

If there’s a crown jewel of balcony experiences in Orange Beach, Turquoise Place might just claim it. This luxury resort takes the balcony concept to another level with “Balcony Hot Tubs & Grills”—yes, you read that correctly. Private hot tubs. On your balcony. Overlooking the Gulf.

Reviews consistently highlight this unique feature, with guests mentioning “hot tub on the balcony” with a “great view” and “private hot tubs and gas grills on each balcony.” Many reviews specifically mention enjoying sunsets from these premium outdoor spaces.

The resort’s website effectively utilizes a dedicated section to highlight its Gulf-front condos with these standout amenities, directly addressing what makes their balcony experience unique. While the premium price point reflects these luxury features, for those seeking the ultimate balcony experience, Turquoise Place delivers something truly special.

This property is AWESOME. Our teen daughters and nieces (as well as us parents) had an amazing time even in colder weather. The amenities were great- great gym, hot tubs, indoor pools, laundry, etc. Grocery delivery was easy and plenty of restaurants, entertainment and shops are nearby. Staff was so nice and helpful. Our condo was fabulous- spacious, comfortable, private, & well equipped with a beautiful view. We will definitely be back!

Place felt overpriced from the start...Hot Tub didn't work...Front desk dragged their feet about it till it was time to leave (Front desk wasnt present at the time) and the coffee maker was broken which is no biggie...I dont drink it...But the ol lady went down there to get a cup and they said we have to contact a number to get it fixed since we used air bnb to book...Save that hard earned money...Also bring your own toilet paper 4 star hotel 1 star sand paper...Spend money at a hotel that whats you to stay there not pay there

Turquoise is our favorite Orange Beach destination. If you are lucky enough to visit Turquoise then I'd say you are lucky enough!Fully appointed units with luxury finishes. Views cannot be topped. Most units have grille and hot tub on balcony. Spa tub and shower in master suite. On site amenities are excellent, including very good food at Change of Pace, poolside restaurant.

We love it here! Turquoise Place in Orange Beach, AL, has large 3-5 bedroom condos with stunning Gulf views, private hot tubs, and top-notch amenities like indoor/outdoor pools, a pool bar, lazy river, 300ft water slide, and wifi on the beach. It’s our happy place!!

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Orange Beach at The Wharf (No Beachfront)

Not all great balcony views in Orange Beach require direct beachfront access. SpringHill Suites by Marriott Orange Beach at The Wharf offers “scenic views of the Intracoastal Waterway from our queen room’s balcony.” While not directly on the beach, these water views provide a different but equally appealing perspective, especially for those who enjoy watching boat traffic or prefer a slightly quieter setting.

A Booking.com reviewer noted a “Great view from our window!” and Marriott’s own site highlights these waterway views as a key selling point. For travelers who prioritize a balcony experience but don’t necessarily need direct beach access, this provides an excellent alternative.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay!! The rooms are exceptionally clean, and the staff, and I mean every single person I came in contact with, was outstanding. Booked a room with the Bonvoy app at this hotel and upon arrival I was told that my reservations was cancelled, because I booked at a prepay rate in August and the credit card didn't go through. My reservations were book in August, but the card was not submitted until October on the day of my reservations. I didn't receive a call from the hotel to confirm the card or given the opportunity to use a different card because I was in route to the hotel. I am a Marriott member and have stayed with Marriott on several occasions and never had a card to decline. I was offered an increase rate of about $45 per night and after speaking with the supervisor, the increase rate was a good rate and I should make sure that I book rooms at the standard rate in future. She maybe right, but sometimes a little compassion is what a customer needs when it is late at night and you have driven over 200 miles and realize that a trusted company like Marriott don't have any compassions for errors or misstates.

Room had bed bugs, sheet had stains, and hairs. We had to cut our stay short due to bites and concerns of health/safety for our family. We had 2 children with us on our trip (12 year old and 9-month old). To prevent potential spread to our vehicle and home, we had to take extra precautions. However room did have a good view. Location was great.

I keep coming back. As a single business traveler, I feel safe here. The people that work here and the people that stay here are all calm, professional, and easygoing people. The rooms with the pool view are amazing because the pool is amazing. It's huge for a hotel. The breakfast is outstanding. Each day they have a paleo option, some sort of egg fritatta/souffle thing and it is so hard to have only one. The location is perfect. You get the wharf plus the shops and the pool but also a quick drive to the beach. The rooms are always well kept and modern.

Was out here for the AAVA Conference with family everything was going great until I needed to use the printer, they didn’t want to give me any paper to print said they would have to charge me just for paper which I didn’t mind if the front desk lady didn’t have an attitude, I asked to use the conference room for my zoom meeting before evening using it and another front desk lady told me it fine to use, they here comes someone else saying I had to rent out the conference room. Staff was very unprofessional and not communicative with one another. Overall rooms were nice and the pool was relaxing. For it to by my first time here definitely was not the great memorizable experience sadly. Hopefully they get better staff that communicates and they’re on the same page

Making the Most of Your Balcony Experience

Once you’ve secured that perfect balcony room, here are some tips to maximize the experience:

  1. Pack binoculars: The Gulf Coast is home to abundant marine life—dolphins, rays, and various seabirds are frequently spotted from beachfront balconies.

  2. Plan balcony meals: Many hotels offer room service, or you can grab takeout from local restaurants to enjoy a private dining experience with an unbeatable view.

  3. Consider the season: While summer offers warmer swimming weather, spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) provide more moderate temperatures that can make balcony lounging even more pleasant, often at lower rates.

  4. Bring a small bluetooth speaker: Create the perfect soundtrack for your balcony relaxation (just keep the volume respectful).

  5. Don’t forget sun protection: Even on your balcony, that Gulf sun can be intense. Bring sunscreen and perhaps a light cover-up.

FAQ: Orange Beach Hotels with Balconies

What is the best time of year to enjoy a balcony room in Orange Beach?

Spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) offer ideal temperatures for balcony enjoyment with fewer crowds and lower rates than peak summer months. The Gulf waters are still warm enough for swimming in these shoulder seasons, but the air temperature is more comfortable for extended balcony lounging.

Turquoise Place stands out with its private balcony hot tubs and grills, offering an unmatched luxury experience. The combination of Gulf-front views with the ability to soak in a hot tub or grill your own meals creates a premium outdoor living space unlike any other property in the area.

Chain hotels like Holiday Inn Express and Best Western Premier The Tides often provide more budget-friendly balcony options while still offering beachfront locations. These properties maintain the essential balcony experience without some of the premium amenities that drive up prices at luxury resorts.

No, not all rooms at beachfront properties include balconies. Always specify a balcony room when booking, and clarify whether it offers a beach view or another perspective. Some hotels have a mix of balcony and non-balcony rooms, while others (like Island House Hotel) feature balconies in all accommodations.

Beyond the balcony itself, look for comfortable outdoor furniture, privacy dividers between neighboring balconies, and unobstructed views. Additional features that enhance the experience include balcony lighting for evening enjoyment, a small table for dining, and sufficient space to fully extend lounge chairs if available.
